what could happen if i use regular gas in a luxury car, which requires premium gas? ?

A black hole will form inside the engine bay of your car, swallowing the entire Earth and ending life as we know it....LOL.

Modern engines have a knock sensor which is read by the ECU and if the ECU detects knock, it scales back timing and adjusts other run parameters to assure that no damage is done to the engine by running it on lower octane regular unleaded fuel, even if it's designed to run on premium.

You won't make quite as much peak HP running it on regular if it's designed to run on premium, but other than that you shouldn't have any trouble. Don't sweat it.

what is the difference btw supreme and regular gas and how does it effect the engine of a luxury car?

Answer
The Super gasoline has a higher octane rating than regular. People think that means it burns hotter but that is actually not the case at all. Super is made for engines with high compression ratios. If you put regular gas (which is actually more readily explosive) into a high compression engine, the compression of the piston will cause the gasoline to explode before the spark plug actually fires, so the engine doesn't run properly and "knocks" or "pings" as the gas may try to re-ignite when the spark plug fires. Always run the octane grade that is recommended by the engine manufacturer, especially if you have a high performance engine with high compression ratios.
