What are some pretty nice sport cars under 20000?

Softballch

I really like the Mitsubishi eclipse but I want to know if there are any other cars I might like make the price close to 20000 but not over 30000 thanks!

Answer
This will probably get me a slew of thumbs downs, but as far as I know the only vehicle that can be called a true sports car close to $20K new is the Mazda Miata. I have seen used Honda S2000s for under $20K, however, and some used Nissan Zs and Mazda RX-8s are probably in that price range.

Other than that, there are a lot of very sporty, fun to drive cars around. (I'd put the Eclipse in the "sporty" category, although I'm not a fan of that car; just a personal preference). Anyway, some of the cars I'd put in this category are: Acura RSX/Integra (no longer made), Mazda 3 (especially the Mazdaspeed 3) and Mazda 6, Honda Civic, particularly the Si, as well as the discontinued Prelude, Infinity G35, and Subaru Imprezza and even Legacy. I'm sure there are a lot of others.

One note of caution: Remember to consider maintenance and insurance cost when budgeting for a sports car or anything sporty, really. For instance, you may find someone who needs to get out of his BMW, Corvette or RX-8 payments, but the cost of owning and maintaining those can be fairly high.

Best sport car under $20000?

adrianek18

Hi, I will get my dads 2009 honda civic, and i dont want it. My dad paid abt half of the money, and I have to pay other half, which is abt $10000. I want to trade it for some other sport car. And its automatic. Its four door, and not the sport version. Im 18 years old, and I need some sport car, which has manual transmission, isnt american (hate those), NOT OLDER THAN 4 YEARS, good perfomance, reliable, and engine, that I can upgrade. I am thinking abt 08 honda civic SI coupe, Mitsubishi EVO XIII, GTI, 06 nissan 350Z, 06 or 07 subaru impreza wrx, maybe some mazda 3 or 6 speed, bmw 325 or m3? What are your choices? And dont waist my time writing abt american muscles. I love imports

Answer

Any recommendations on a private party auto loan?

qwerty

I'm looking to buy my first car (current car is high school/college car under the parents name), particularly an Lexus IS300 (01-05) with less than 75k miles for roughly $11,000. I have good credit and stable paying full time job.

The credit unions around me will only do loans for up to 5 years old (06 and up) with less than 70k miles.

I was look at possibly Wells Fargo, but couldn't find any requirements for the car itself.

Looking for advice for a good place either online or in person to apply, thanks!

Answer
That's really, really specific. Seaching cars.com, I only see one car nationally that even comes close:

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=64765700&listingRecNum=12&criteria=sf1Dir%3DDESC%26mkId%3D20070%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D21239%26rd%3D100000%26mlgId%3D28862%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-mlgId-prcId%26zc%3D40242%26prcId%3D28578%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir%3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26sf2Nm%3Dmiles%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705&aff=national

Everything else is $12K and up or over 70K miles. You may have a tough time finding the car you want. There are some banks that will loan you money on an older car. I believe Wells Fargo will. I know Bank of America will not. Keep in mind, your local credit unions and many banks don't do older car loans for a reason. The chance that (even a low mileage) 10 year old car may not make it another 3-5 years (before you have it paid off) is very real. If that happens, their collateral is worthless. Because of this, you'll also end up paying a much higher rate as compared to something newer.

Do you really want to put yourself in a position where you may still have payments on a car that is in the junkyard? I know Lexus is a great car that should theoretically last and the mileage is low, but 10+ years old is still 10+ years old.

My advice - if you can't pay cash, stick with something newer that your local credit unions will finance. Your interest rate will be much better, the chance of it wearing out before it's paid off is much less, the maintenance costs will be much less. Wait to buy a luxury car until you can afford something newer. You'll thank yourself in the end.

Good luck!

Answer
I would highly recommend the Jeep Commander. I drive one and so does my mom. Both have a 2007.
- It is highly regarded for its looks and will turn a lot of heads.
- If you get the Sunroof package you get THREE. 2 sky lights in the back and one big power sunroof in front.
- I test drove the Ford Expedition, Explorer, 4Runner, Pathfinder, Durango, Tahoe, ESCALADE; and the Commander was the smoothest. I could not feel or detect the train tracks when I rolled over them. Or anything really. I took it to 80mph on Route 66 and could here no outside noise. It is SILENT!!! SMOOTH!! and SOFT!!! It has a lot of SPACIOUS to with a unique EXOTIC driving view. 5 STAR Crash Test Rating!!!!!!
- I love the growl the V6 has. It has a lot of passing power to boot and gets 16 city and 21 highway.
- Third row available
- Do not worry about the reliablity Jeep has aquired. Do not worry about recalls. The Commander has had 4 and thats nothing compared to what other companies have had. Especially Toyota recently. My dad is an Auto Mechanic and says that in truth, only 1 out of 10 people take care of there vehicle. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. My mom's Commander and my Commander have had 0 problems. I have 75k on mine. Mom has 56k.
-Go to the Jeep website and look at the Commander. They have been unchanged since 2006 you can find the luxury trim for probably around $12,000.

Help needed in Buying Used BMW M3?

Harsha

Hello All, I am planning on buying a used BMW M3 and I have a couple deals right now and would like to ask you people which one is better and what are the pros and cons.
1. 2005 M3, SMG, coupe, 20K miles - $38000
2. 2003 M3, Manual, Hardtop convertible, 55k miles - $28000
3. 2004 M3, Manual, coupe, 24K miles - $35000
I always wanted to buy a hardtop convertible but then the miles scare me on that car. How much would an extended maintenence warranty cost me for upto 100K?
And also the third car owner states she has maintenence warranty untill Nov 2008 & full service warranty untill 2010. What is this service warranty???

Someone please help me here.. Also note.. I live in a place where it snows for 4 mons in an yr & I have a luxury sedan to drive in that period. and this will be my second car for fun.

And also what are the main things I need to be looking / checking for before buying such a costly sports car. how abt the tires ??? please help.& also my budget is around 35K

Answer
I have an 02 with 63K on it. Still feels, looks, and drives like new. It's all in how well it's taken care of. Oil changes are every 15,000 miles, or annually, whichever is first. For me it's annually. Oil is about $9 a quart, 7 quarts, plus filter cartridge. There is only one kind of oil it can take. Castrol TWS motorsport 10W-60.
Rear tires are every 15000 miles also. Fronts maybe 25000 if you're lucky.
If it were me, I'd go for the 2004. Not a convertible, and not SMG are my reasons. Mileage is not a consideration unless it's really high. Do not drive in snow. You already have that covered. Good. I'm sure the car would do just fine if it sat higher, and didn't have 40 series tires on it. I put wider tires on mine, so they're 35s in the back now, even worse.
SMG is great for a track, but regular driving I prefer the manual. Not sure what shift by wire means, unless he was referring to the SMG, because the manual stick goes straight into the gearbox, no wires, no linkage really other than the stick.
Don't worry about repair costs, mine has cost very little, if at all. Inspection 2 is every 30000 miles which means all three are about due, at a cost of ~ $1500. Only #3 might be free because of the maintenance warranty. Mine has had two of them already, both covered by the maintenance warranty, which is now expired. Oh and gas mileage, officially it was listed as 16/24. I have never seen 16, and get more than 24 on every fill up. I average 25 all the time, don't know how high it would be highway only, I'm thinking over 30, as I've gotten 28-29 on long highway trips myself, but I wasn't going 55 which is how the EPA tests I think. 25 is really good for 333 HP in my opinion. I don't drive with a light foot either.

Mine is for sale, $26000 if you're near Denver, with lots of later model retrofits like Sirius, MP3, LEDs, front strut brace, etc. It's a wonderful car and I'm having a hard time deciding to sell it. I love BMW 6 cylinders, but I also test drove a new one and love it too. So if someone says they'll buy it, I guess I'll let it go.

edit:
Mr. Fred, I don't know why you are calling me out on my answers, but allow me to explain so that the original question asker isn't confused by your remarks. Not trying to continue a "pissing match", but I feel since I am right, I must explain. I am providing examples of what I have seen and what I do to my E46 M3, to provide information related to the question.

As I said, I OWN an E46 M3, I drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it. I know what BMW insists is the right oil, and it is not 15W-50, I have the service bulletins, and the sticker under the hood specifying use only the oil I stated. You can go to Walmart if you like. Inspection 2 is more than a simple fluid check. It includes a valve adjustment, which is why it is so expensive. As I stated, I have not paid for one yet, but I know what the dealer would have charged. I changed my tire widths because I was doing track days. See my avatar? That's me. That has nothing to do with anything though, I was simply stating that it is no good in the snow, even worse with wider tires. And there is no wire or cable for the transmission, it's not a transaxle. I've been under the car and changed the oil on the transmission with- well I'll just say it wasn't from Walmart. I would think that an owner of an E46 M3 can speak the truth about what oil to use and what maintenance costs better than an E36 owner. I wouldn't tell an E92 owner that they don't know what they are talking about after owning if for 6 years. When I turn my key on, the service indicator says 15525 miles to next oil change after I just did it. Explain that. It counts down mile for mile unless the engine is cold or being driven hard, at which point it counts down faster. BMW wants it in for an oil change every year if you don't get to the 15000 miles. I've had this car for 6 years, I think I know how to change the oil and what the service guys at the dealer have told me. And since I own this car and fill it up on a regular basis (with premium) I know what kind of mileage it gets, you are guessing.

Need Advice for Moving to NYC after graduating from college?

BobaB

Will be moving to NYC in 07. Details:
Job Situation: I've accepted a FT job offer & will be working downtown in the Fin. District. Salary=$55K + $5K sign-on bonus +$7.5K relocation

Living Situation: Prefer to live close to work (although I know it would be more expensive) but am willing to live up to 1 hr away.
-Will probably be selling my car before I move up there
-Hoping to find a studio/1BR for no more than $1,500/mth
-If possible, I would love to live in a luxury apt (that includes gym & most utilities)

Area preference: Somewhere safe (female living by myself) and quiet (not a party person). It would be nice to be near the entertainment/shopping/museum areas

Questions:
-I'm moving from the south so my guarantor won't be from the tri-state area. Will I still be able to find something?
-In ref. to fin requirement: Will I be able to rent an apt as a new-hire just out of college?
-Specific area recommendations?
-How soon do I start looking for an apt? (start work in Sept 07)

Answer
September is the big month for people moving in, since school starts then. Suggest you try to aim for getting an apt in June/July when colleges and other schools are out, people leaving apts then.
As for area, keeping within an hour of the financial district, you have wide choices. For ex, there is a building, 700 Victory Blvd on Staten Island just 8 minutes by bus from the ferry, 25 minutes to Manhattan. This building has the athletic type facilities you ask about, plus an underground garage and out door parking, so you could keep your car. There are also a few buildings in Brooklyn Heights with similar facilities, but probably a lot more expensive.
I always suggest to people so check locations along the #7 IRT subway, which even at its last stop is little more than 30 minutes from Manhattan, and has at that last stop everything you could want.
In Manhattan, look at Inwood (above 204 St). This area is being yuppified, but is still nice, and a quick direct ride to the financial district on the A train, a seat the entire way.
Riverdale is a possibility as a couple buildings there also have the facilities you want, but is further from downtown.
As one moving into the area, landlords will most likely run a credit check on you. If you use a service to find an apt, they will generally charge you a month's rent, and you will have to lay out a month's rent as security deposit plus pay the first month, thus 3X you normal rent will be your outlay to start.
You should be able to find a 1BR for under $1500. Do not go the studio route--so cramped you will want to move soon.

are alfa romeo`s fun to drive?

Tino D

I was just wondering if the new ala romeo`s 159`s are fun to drive or if they underpowerec , I love the way the car looks just not sure about them ., They are supose to come to the USA in 2008-2009

Answer
Alfa is planning to return to the us in autumn 2009. The 159 is considered tobe among the best cars to drive in its class. Alfa has made sure that there is lots of grip and no body roll in corners. The stiff chassis allows the 159 to be both fun to drive and have a good ride. The engines available in europe are; 1.9 (165bhp), this does 0-60 in 9secs and goes on to a top speed of 135 mph. 2.2 (190bhp) which will do 0-60 in 8.5 seconds and will go on to 140mph and 3.2 (270bhp) which will do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and go on to 155mph. It also comes with excellent diesels, a 155bhp 1.9 which will do 0-60 in 9 seconds and go on to 132mph, and a 205bhp 2.4 that will do 0-60 in 8 seconds and go on to 145mph .By the time they come to the us a gta version packing 350bhp plus will be available. Alfa's use front wheel drive, but they are also available with four wheel drive. You can choose from 3 gearboxes, a 6 speed manual, a f1 inspired selespeed paddleshift semi-auto, and a smooth 6 speed automatic. People by these cars because of the way they drive. The 159 is considered to be an excellent car in all areas in Europe and should be a success in the US. The brera coupe, spider soft top, 169 luxury car, 8c supercar and an SUV will be available also. Prices will start at about $35,000.

New luxury car suggestion, with decent mpg?

Alex

Hi, looking for a luxury car with +25mph city that's a mid size family car

I test drove the Lexus is250H its nice, but I want a bit more power. what else is out there? I really want a V6 with good mpg. I want leather and sat nav and all the safety features, and yet comfortable to drive. Looking to lease new or buy slightly used, price range is 35-60k.

Last car, '07 BMW 335i and an '06 Infinity G35. I have a wife and a kid and I carpool kids around, still I feel like I deserve a bit of luxury.

Answer
I would recommend a Lexus GS450h. It seems to match all of your specifications. Its also much faster and nicer than the HS250h that you test drove.

Lexus GS450h
3.5 litre V6 Hybrid
E-CVT Transmission
340 hp (total output)
0-60 in 5.2 seconds
25 MPG
MSRP: $57,000-$70,000.

Old reliable luxury car?

b00rb

I want a "semi"-luxury car cheap (<$3000), I'm a high school student so I need it to last at least 2 more years, hassle free. I love how BMW's look, but I've heard they're not that reliable, so I've been looking at Infinitis. I want a sedan/coupe with decent gas mileage, from the '90s, and I by "semi"-luxury, I mean I want the car to have features like leather seats, power seats and windows, a/c, power steering, etc. Decent gas mileage is a plus too (15 MPG<)
Any suggestions?

Answer
If you are looking for a hassle free car for $3000 you may have a long wait. Try perhaps a top end low mileage car from a brand not noted for luxury cars, maybe a Hyundai or Kia perhaps. Domestic cars may also be worth a look, such as Buicks or Mercurys. Don't forget a luxury car will still have luxury car running costs, and all old cars will need repairs at some time. Good luck!.

What is the coolest sports car?

Katie

Answer
The coolest sports car, that is still available and can out run most stock production sports cars, as well as lots of tricked out classic muscle cars/trucks.

Would have to be the Shelby-Cobra.
Its a small two seater, with a full size V8 squeezed into the front. Rear wheel drive in the classic style.
Its not a flimsy sports car wannabe, in fact its built scratch from the ground up. Each one is similar yet hand made - and made in the USA too.
Problem is the dang thing is really expensive.

The second best coolest sports car you can get is the Lamborghini. It doesn't matter if you get one brand new or one 15 years old. They are all slick, and even the older ones can still practically go to warp-speeds, leaving the competition in the dust, even brand new porches.

Lams always turn heads, no matter where in the civilized free world you are in. They are state of the art & the coolest of cool.

Cheers babe!!!

But as for worst of the worst, that would be the Corvette.
After 1978 thats when they started to get uglier and uglier.
They belch smoke, like it was a diesel (i know they run on gas), you can't park it on the street coz they're so fragile (fiberglass body) can't park it in a lot coz it'll get dinged by everything. And not just that they're lousy on gas (gas hog) they steer like a pig or an elderly donkey. They're as nimble as a brick with wheels.

$50,000 budget on a sports car?

GO HOME FO

or something that's comfortable but performance oriented...I was thinking of the new 2012 1 series M coupe..something that'll help a college student get more azz then he already is (not too much..but enough) :)......no american cars plz.
ummm...Gray obviously doesn't know anything about cars..looks like I came to the wrong place for this sorta information..the 1 series M is FASTER...yes..FASTER than the m3..It beat it on some track called Nueremburgh (forgot how to spell it) by a second..i still dont know if it's worth the price but performance wise...its a beast and it'll get me plenty of azz.

Answer
50k for a 1 Series BMW? I can not think of a dumber purchase and that tiny car is not going to get you any azz. You'd be better of getting a proper M3 a few years old. It will have depreciated some and you won't take the new car hit. You can also look at used Porsche 996's.

A good $50,000 to $70,000 sports car? (Australia)?

someyellow

Hi,

Im going to be purchasing a new car this year, somewhere between 50 and 70 thousand dollars (australian).

What would you recommend?

Thanks!

Answer
Got some mates in Australia who own Japanese sports cars and love drifting (Jap cars are awesome for this).

Here are some choices you can check out:
- Nissan Skyline R33 GTR / R34 GTR
- Subaru WRX (superb race car)
- Mazda RX7 Series VIII (Big Turbo - 400HP)

If you're looking at newer cars then Euro brands like Lotus Elise should meet your expectations.

Would a 2006 dodge charger be a good first car?

Elias

Im gonna start my driving lessons soon i know its early to ask but would it be a good car? Things im looking for are:
-dosent nom nom nom alot of fuel
-is safe
- not too expensive
- can be driven in the winter cause i live in montreal where winters are long.
So if i found a good deal for one would it be any good? Thank you.

Answer
based on your needs I would stay far away from a dodge charger. You need something safe as a new driver that will also be able to handle the weather. I would say you need a small/midsized SUV in my opinion. They're safer in accidents and can handle the road easily. They also are better for first time drivers because since you're higher off the ground you can see more of your surroundings while driving. Also for warranty and maintenance purposes you want to look at the mileage of a car. A car with good mileage should have about 12,000 miles max per year on it. so a 2006 should have no more than 84,000 miles on it.

Here are some suggestions:

2004/2005 Lexus RX330 - Lexus has a good reputation for safety and is a luxury car. this is a midsized/small SUV.

a Nissan Murano is also a good car.

It mainly depends on your price range. I gave the suggestions based on the price of a 2006 dodge charger. I am partial towards Mercedes because of their great safety ratings. I have the ML320 and have never had an issue with weather, safety, or anything. Their dealerships are also one of a kind, at least here in Dallas. I left my GPS in a loaner car they lent me while mine was getting repairs and since they couldn't find it they replaced it with a brand new one. My friends dad won't let his family drive anything but Mercedes because his saved his life in a severe accident. Again do your research on different brands and their reputation and compare it to your needs, this is the best way to find what you're looking for.

car rental in Dallas needed?

Romano

I'm gonna be visiting Dallas in August. So, I need to rent a cheapest car available. I just need it to drive me from A to B. That's it. I don't need any luxuries in it. Searching on the internet, I could only find those 400 dollar deals, which is a bit too much for me. I will only be visiting for 4 days. Does anybody have any phone number of a local car rental that rents not-so-new cars and which I can pick up at airport? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Answer
The cheap rentals you're looking for aren't located at the airport. Since you only need the car to get from the airport to your destination and back to the airport it may be cheaper to take the Super Shuttle.

In 1980s the government imposed a sales tax on purchase of luxury cars. ?

brave32

The revenue collected from the tax equals the tax rate multiplied by total spending on such cars. There have been suggestions that the government could earn more tax revenue by increasing the tax rate on luxury cars. Would such an increase necessarily rays tax revenue? Explain.

Answer
If the elasticity of demand on luxury cars is less than 1, tax receipts would increase with a increase in the tax rate.

What are some classic cars like these?

the guy wh

Im looking to buy a classic car (65-80) so far i found these that i like. are there anyothers that are similar you can think of? all of these are foreign cars but i do like american too but im trying to stay in the 2k to 3k price range while still running i couldnt think of any popular american cars that would this cheap. i also wouldnt mind and actually would like to do some minor restore i also want a car where parts are not impossible to find. Paint and interior looks would be no concern also just running and minimum rust
Datsuns
Fiats
Opel Manta (my favorite) and gt
Lancia
Alfa Romeo gtv (also a favorite but way to expensive)

Answer
American cars such as the AMC Pacer, Dodge Dart/Plymouth Valiant, Rambler American,
are also good choices along with 1970s and 1980s 'personal luxury' cars like the Dodge Magnum coupe, Ford Thunderbird, Olds Cutlass or Pontiac Grand Prix.

The Opel Manta is harder to find parts for than are the GTs. The GT is a fun car and easy to restore (great on gas as well).

Lancias, Alfas and Fiats tend to be in the $4000-$6000 category for a nice drivable car without rust.

How about an Austin Marina or Triumph TR6 or TR7?

IRS rules regaurding buying a car for my Corp?

mobile_man

Ok so I have 2 partners in a C Corp. We are looking down the road and see the need to buy a vehicle for each of us. After I did some research I get the feeling that if you buy a car over 15300.00 and under 6000 GVW than its considered a luxury car. Well doesn't that account for most sedans? One of the vehicles would be a BMW or equivalent for our Sales VP, the others would be a truck and a SUV so no weight issues there. Am I misunderstanding this or is there another way around this?

Answer
"buy a car over 15300.00 and under 6000 GVW than its considered a luxury car"

If you can afford vehicles like this, you can afford to talk to a CPA, cheapskate.

Nobody uses 4300k anymore, the color is too dull. The 6000 is used commonly by Audi and Mercedes Benz, but I will have to agree with the guy above me, the 8000 look beautiful and are commonly used by BMW and the new Buick Enclave giving them a stellar shade of blue.

Help me decide! Sports car?

[love]

Probably will be buying it sometime next year..
I want a brand new car.. so the latest year (2014).
Should I get a NIssan 370Z Roadster or a Benz SLK250? Those are the ones I have in mind now unless something better comes out within the next year.. Pros & cons?
@nascar; I don't have poor or little credit, I just have high balances on all my cards cause I like spending money. My score will definitely go up as long as I'm paying them off. Don't worry about how much I make, I just know I make enough to buy a car like those, so that's not your problem. ;)

Answer
well you have two very different cars here. first the 370z. the 370 has been on the market for some time now and the next gen is to debut sometime in 2015-16. its a solid car with very tight and springy suspension and good lightweight construction. nissan races many 370z's in differnt motorsports and its a fast car. the benz on the other hand has a different goal all together. of course its main goal is luxury. so ifyou prefer the finer things this is opbviously the better thing for you. performace wise it just puts a powefull engine into a stiff sport susension and thats about as far as it goes. the 370z is said to be more of a drivers car and the slk250 is more of a "hands off" sport car. its just a matter of personal preference. if i could buy a sports car right now, id choose the Subaru BRZ. if you havent checked this car out yet you should. its really cheap price wise and is good solid car, although the leather dash is where the luxuries stop (so not for you if you lean twards benz). but the BRZ is a game changer. every auto maker is currently trying to copy them and make a really great "drivers car" for an affordable price. subaru teamed up with toyota to build this. its really impressive trust me. but honnestly all of these cars are awesome. theyre unique in their own flavors

2015 lotus elise buying?

me

so this car is something ima HAVE TO GET. im getting it, so how should i go around to saving the money. i run a studio i make 500 there just on my off time a month. and when i work i make 2.5k so pretty much 3 grand total. im 20 and i just need advice on this stuff should i just be a money nazi and save it until i get it. should i put a down payment and pay monthly. what would be easiest for a 24 year old in the future. i don't have kids don't want them, i would be fine living in a crappy apartment but for now im living with mom so what should i do?

Answer
The Lotus Elise is a $54,000 sports car.

Earning $3000 a month that means it will take 18 months of saving every penny you make to buy the car.

So if you reasonably save half th emoney you earn and live of the rest you can buy this car in 3 years. Of course the insurance, maintenance and operating costs of the car will be very high.

Answer
1Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec
#2 Burnout 3: Takedown
#3 NASCAR : Chase for the Cup
#4 Midnight Club II
#5 Grand Prix Challenge
#6 ATV Offroad Fury 2
#7 Need for Speed Underground
#8 WipEout Fusion
#9 Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild
#10Need For Speed : Dioxide

##GRAN TURISMO 3 A-SPEC##
This racer is on everyone's top ten list, for all games. The attention to detail in this game is truly mind blowing. From realistic physics, to actual engine sounds, this is excellence in execution. It should be noted that fanboys globally are revving their engines for the upcoming Gran Turismo 4.

##BURNOUT 3 ::: TAKE DOWN##
is the crown jewel of a proud franchise, and easily, the most original racing game on this list. In this arcade racer you bump opponents to gain turbo 'boost', scream around tracks at dizzying speeds, and cause or participate in the most spectacular car crashes seen on the small screen. Hollywood take note, this is what a killer car sequence looks and feels like.

'##NASCAR :: CHASE FOR THE CUP##
It has been a good year for racing fans. NASCAR : Chase for the Cup is simply the best of the series, and the best NASCAR game to hit any console. The graphics are stellar, and the mix between racing, management, and configuration make the chase for the cup an enjoyable one indeed. This is how NASCAR should be done, lots things to tweak for the gear heads, but still plenty of console racing fun.

##MIDNIGHT CLUB 2##
Leave it to Rockstar to create a seedy underground car racing world and turn it into a clench-the-couch arcade racing game. Midnight Club II is set in a hyper-stylized auto tuner racing world. You race for glory, as well as survival. Killer music, amazing tuner style, and tight racing make this the 'hip' racer of the bunch.

##GRAND PRIX CHALLENGE##
Grand Prix Challenge was the underdog of Formula 1 racing games. But just as in F1 racing, upsets happen, and sometimes they are huge. Grand Prix Challenge feels like a racing game should. Yes it has pretty graphics and sublime sounds, but this game is a pleasure to drive. The handling can take some getting used to, but once you do, you are off to the races.

##ATV OFFROAD FURY 2##
It's not all about cars folks. ATV Offroad Fury 2 brings sweet racing goodness to ATV (quads) racing, and it takes it online. Lots of dirt, lost of jumps, and lots of bumps make this a fun break from other racing 'simulations'. It's one thing to beat your PS2, but take ATV Fury online and it's a whole 'nuther race. Players are brutal, and you'll enjoy being cut-off as much as bumping them into the scenery.
##NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND##
You want a pretty racing game, you've got it. Need for Speed Underground is as awesome as racing games get. Customize your car and take it to the streets. The lighting effects and speed blurring make this game pop right out of the TV. While it has a deep single player mode, the multiplayer is what keeps this Fast and the Furious styled racer from charging up the list.

##WIPEOUT FUSION##
You have not driven a hovercar until you've driven WipEout Fusion. Futuristic racers tend to focus too much on the future, and not enough on the racing. WipEout Fusion, has finally broken the trend. Ultra fast racing, slick tracks, and killer combat make this the game cyber-jockeys love to play. The graphics could shine a bit brighter, but WipEout Fusion has 'fun' in spades, which is why it makes the list
.
##COLLIN MC RAE RALLY 3##
Colin, you should be proud. Your name is on the cover of one of the best rally racing games out there. While rally racing may not be popular stateside, the rest of the world loves to watch small cars tear up dirt roads, nearly taking out spectators. Fortunately, while the sport may not be hot, the game certainly is. The dirty, powersliding, tight cornered racing is a PS2 racer's dream come true. Get dirty, and get squirrely with Colin McRae Rally 3.

##NEED FOR SPEED DIOXIDE##
Need for speed dioxide is as awesome as games can get! From amazing booster part's to add onto your amazing car's to terrorising the streat's, and challenging cop's to a road race to the extream! The lighting effects and speed blurring make this game pop right out of the TV. While it has a deep single player mode, the multiplayer is what keeps this Fast and the Furious styled racer from charging up the list.

Hope this helped. Please Rate Best Awnser :D!!

What kind of luxury car do you recommend, I can afford?

Rusty C

i am an endodontist in los angeles and for the last two years my yearly income was 220-240k. I am single, have a 2 bedrooom apartment which i pay $3,000 a month for (incl. utilities).

I currently drive a 2004 Range Rover HSE, and given my current lifestyle, I would like to buy a luxury/exotic car. I have gotten approved for financing on a 2007 Aston Martin selling at $91,000. what other suggestions do you have that I would be able to comfortably afford?

do you guys think im stretching myself? as a potential patient, would you be bothered by what your endodontist drives?
Thanks for your input!

Answer
All I know about doctors is that they always buy absolutely epic cars, and I envy them greatly. For example, one of our local doctors got himself a brand new Lamborghini Gallardo.

As for what YOU should get, by all means go for the Aston, but drive it carefully. If something breaks down it will cost quite a bit to repair (something that I'm sure you're not worried about on your current wages but nonetheless it will), and being a 2007 model (which for that price I'm going to assume is a V8 Vantage) means it would have been built from the Ford parts bin, which means a lower quality than you may expect.

Here's a few suggestions:

- Audi RS6 (Super-saloon/estate, 5.2L twin-turbocharged V10)
- Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster (convertible, 4.3L V8)
- Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (coupe, 6.2L supercharged V8 [more performance-oriented rather than luxurious])
- Maserati GranTurismo S (Grand tourer, 4.7L V8)
- Audi R8 (coupe, 4.2L V8)
- Bentley Continental GT (Super-saloon, 6.0L twin-turbocharged W12)
- BMW 750i (Saloon, 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8)
- Jaguar XFR (Sedan, 5.0L supercharged V8)

Is USA racist against 2nd "generation" people?

One shot,

Okay, i'm a 15 year old boy who lives in Denmark with my dad (big brother (20) lives at my moms house) and my dad has been driving as a taxi dude for 30 years in Denmark. He's 57 now.
We're planning to take a road trip wich might take a full year to USA. Through every. Single. STATE..!
But, thats not the problem. I have a turkish background, so i look like a turk. My dad is turkish, mom is turkish and my brother is like me. We were born in Denmark, but have another background. We are NOT muslims. Think about that. That chance, but turks are not muslims tbh. Not all tho, some do eat pork/wild boar and yes they do drink ALOT at parties.. But anyway, i'm more a atheist/crist but my family won't let me get baptized or whatever its called on english (the holy water thing).

But anyway, back to the story.
Since we LOOK LIKE people from the middle east (denmark is in europe btw..), but have danish passport, will they be like "immigrants, terrorists, get out of our country" or more like "Hi, welcome blah blah blah".
Now, when my dad turns 60-61 and i turn 18-19 (after high school), we're considering going to USA. I will have my license there. The old man and my brother taught me how to drive a car, park and reverse. And yes i am 15 atm.
I like usa tbh.
USA is like, my graceland? My 7th heaven.
My idols (most of them) are from America. My favorite Tv shows. My favorite cars, bikes, clothings, sports and so on.
Heck even my favorite military is the Rangers, Marines and Navy Seals..?
But everybody keeps trash-talking about USA, saying that they hate all the other countries and such.
Okay lets say, that only 100 out of 10000 are racist, but what are the chances to meet them?
My english is good, i get A's and B's nonstop.
And my big brother is considering joining us too, but he's more likely "afraid" even though he's a tough guy, that they will start trash talking and calling us stuff. I just wanna live the american dream. Roadtrip through the country, eat a burger at a diner, sleep at motels, go to Las Vegas with the old man and such.
My most wanted place is the beach places (like venice beach?). Skaters, longboarders and street arts.
I do skate and longboard, so i might bring some boards too. I have hobbies i can entertain people with for fun. My dad, he might be 57 atm. But he's fun as hell. My big brother. 20 year old who will NEVER lose his good sense of humor.
So, i hope it's American people or other people who made a road trip who answers this, since i expect a true answer.

If you saw a guy, only the look of him, what would you think? Start trash talking or would you mind your own business or would you be like "hi and welcome" if i talked to you if you owned a shop or diner?

And yeah, if i lived in usa, my life would be completed.. Thats what im going for too. Asking my dad about moving to a exotic beach place and open a skate shop. I know everything from hardware to setups to tricks (even tho i can't perfom them myself YET..)
And yeah, i do love filming skateboarding and longboarding, so you think that'll be a + or?
My dad was like "Don't start skating. You wont like it, you are not the type of guy to skate". I proved him that i am. Same happened to my big brother when he was 15, he was upset and proved my dad he could. He skated for about 1-2 years and quit. For me, i'm reaching my 1st month of skateboarding, but i've been longboarding almost whole this year. So my dad actually starts support me with this. I know that if my board snaps, he'll try get me a new one or anything like that.

Looooooooong text, but 5 stars for best answers.

- Got any questions you have un-answered? Then link them, i'll try help YOU too :-)

Answer
No. The USA is composed of people from probably every ethnic group on the planet. It's not perfect, but probably no one will look at you even once or realize you are a Turk unless you tell them.

The USA tourism website is a good place to start:

http://www.discoveramerica.com/

------------------------

Citizens of about 35 countries can travel to the USA for up to 90 days at a time as a tourist or for some business purposes by registering for ESTA > before < their trip begins. The cost is US$14, which is similar to the fee for the Australian ETA program.

https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html
http://www.usembassy.org.uk/visaservices/?p=129

Registering is accomplished online, you don't need the details of your trip, and the confirmation is valid for multiple trips to the USA over two (2) years so don't wait until the last minute.

Print the confirmation - or at least record the number - and keep the information with your passport. Having a return or onward ticket leaving North America is a requirement, so have a copy of your airline itinerary at passport control.

If you are planning a long visit then DON'T schedule your departure day for the 90th day (any part of a day in the USA counts as a whole day, so if you arrive at 23:59h on the 1st and leave at 00:01h on the 10th it is 10 days in the USA). Schedule your departure not later than the 88th day as there are no (zero) provisions in the Visa Waiver Program for someone to voluntarily extend their stay. If you miss your flight due to something Immigration might consider avoidable (ex. flat tire on the way to the airport) they may ban you from using the VWP in the future.

If you can't use the VWP (including if the visit isn't for tourism or authorized "business") then you have to apply for a visa:

http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html

Check with your health insurance to find out if it covers you in the USA and pays for medical evacuation to home (should that be necessary). If yes then take proof of coverage with you. If no or not sure then get trip medical insurance, which is cheap and sold by airlines & travel agents. The USA has wonderful medical care but it isn't free or even cheap. Please do not skimp on this as an otherwise-silly accident could turn into a crisis if you don't have medical insurance. This is a link from the US government, but the info is good for anyone traveling outside their home country:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1470.html

Of these, which car has the best deal....? (BMW or Audi)?

Bella L

I'm getting my first car next month (I'm 17) and my parents gave me a $20,000 limit. For a girl, I'm really into cars because of my brother but I would just like a second opinion. Please don't call me a brat, I come from a privileged family so a car like this is what my parents prefer and I am one to really keep up with what I own. Which ever car I get would be thoroughly taken care of. Also, keep in mind that all of these cars have no warranty (but they are available) and that they each have no damage or accident reports and have an overall pristine condition.
Of the following cars, which do you think is the best deal:

-2007 Audi A4 2.0T/ 64,276 Miles/ Automatic/ PREAMP AND SUBWOOFER/ $17,000/

-2003 BMW 7 Series 745Li Sedan/ 76,815 Miles/ Shiftable Automatic/ NAVIGATION GUIDANCE/ $19,000

-2002 BMW M3 Convertible/ 84,620 Miles/ Sequential Semi-Manual/ NAVIGATION GUIDANCE/ $19,000

Answer
I would pass on all 3 of those. Yeah they are great cars but come on do you really want a car with that many miles? You know stuff is going to be breaking pretty soon. Look for some USA made cars that are used but still pretty loaded you can find much better. Yeah it wont be an audi or a beemer but it will last longer. I remember seeing a dodge charger daytona (special paint, limited number produced, all the best electronics best stereo system, gps, leather) R/T (hemi engine 350 horses sure to give any one of those cars on your list a run for its money) it was a 2007 with only 3,000 miles they wanted $20,000. So basically you have a 4 door sports car very fast, looks great and still has a warrenty for the next 55,000 miles. It was an automatic with auto-stick (manually shift gears with out having to mess with a clutch) I would not just concentrate on high end luxury brands when you can find a lot better of a car with a lot less mileage.

A quick question about looking for a used car, 10pts please help!?

MissBella

So i'm 21 years old, I make pretty decent money for my age. I have an older mercedes right now I got as a graduation present. I'm looking for either a lexus, cadillac cts, or mercedes no older than 2001.
Of course used and no more than 19,000 dollars. What type of mileage is good? I know nothing about miles for a used car. Can someone help? Thank you, I appreciate it (:

Answer
Under 60K is best. Under 80 is acceptable. Under 100K is probably what you'll end up with in your price range.

I don't understand why you want such an expensive luxury car for someone as young as you. These are old man cars?

Why is Equus marketed under the Hyundai brand?

crnd

I can't think of one manufacturer that successfully markets both a cheap entry level car (~$12K range, like a Hyundai Accent) and a luxury car ($60K+, like a Hyundai Equus) under the same brand. Can you? Good car or not, someone sees an Equus and can't help but think Accent.

Why does Hyundai think they can?

Answer
I was actually thinking the same thing that you were thinking when the car first came to the United States but now I actually think this is a good move for Hyundai. The Eqqus is a very nice car inside and out and when you compare it to a $100,000 Mercedes Benz S Class or a Porsche Panamera its quite a bargain for a full size luxury sedan. I do think that eventually Hyundai needs to create a sub brand for the Genesis and Eqqus models though. Parking a $60,000 Eqqus next to the $12,000 Accent model you mentioned does look a little strange. Times are changing though... Mercedes Benz is thinking about selling a $26,000-$30,000 hatchback in the United States and Hyundai is building expensive cars.

Compared to California and New Jersey: Is Texas a primitive state?

Ash'ari Ma

I mean does Texas lack the luxuries found in Cali and NYC?

Does the level of education in Texas match that of these states?

Do the people dress well in Texas?

Please explain...

Answer
It depends on what part of Texas one is in. Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio each have a lot of museums, arts venues, etc... Dallas and Austin are wealthier and more liberal. The basic stereotype for women is true...big hair and big boobs. At one time Dallas was the plastic surgery capital of the world, (more plastic surgery performed here than anywhere else). Dallas is about prestige and living large....large homes, luxury cars, designer clothing...whether one can afford it or not.

Addison, Tx a close in suburb of Dallas has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the country.

The shopping here is unbelieveable...mall after mall after mall. People in the cities do dress well.

Education level I am sure is the same as most other states...of couse we have big schools like UT/Austin, but, we also have prestige schools like SMU/Dallas.

However, when you go to the far out suburbs and small towns, you do find the Bubba mentality....the mullets on guys, women with 1980's mall hair and shoulder pads...and rusted out pickups with shotguns hanging in the rear window. But, this is really no different from small towns in other states.

Texas, and Dallas in general is a melting pot of the U.S. Because of the tax benefits, (no state income tax), many companies have relocated their headquarters here. So, it is hard to find people in Dallas that are natives to the area. Most of us have transferred from other states. We of course bring our cultures with us, and so the face of Dallas has changed considerably in the past 50 years. Even the Texas drawl is not nearly as prevelant as it was just 20 years ago.

I am buying a new Audi A6, if anybody has one, please feel free to comment on it!?

Mr nice gu

Answer
I have a 2001 Audi A6 that I bought pre-owned. It now has over 106,000 miles on it. It's been Dealer serviced all of its life (according to Carfax , Dealer records and since Iâve owned it) and I have really stayed on top of all maintenance issues. Unfortunately as I start to add up maintenance cost plus car payments (which will be finished soon) Iâm starting to see that buying a new A6 would not cost me but a few hundred more per month than what Iâm paying now. Not to mention if the new A6's are even half as good as what I have now then it's a no brainier! New A6 of course!

I truly love this car, even though it's pulled a few big bucks from my wallet, it's like no other car I've driven in its class. One friend had suggested I since I was in the market for a new car and I was considering an A6 that maybe I ought to look at a new BMW 5 series or equivalent Mercedes, even Lexus and Infinity. Well I test drove them all and compared to the Audi? hahahaha... they were an absolute Joke! Even against my high mileage Audi they could not compare. Not to mention my Audi Dealer really treat's me well. I go in for regular services and I'm always made to feel special and welcomed there, they really go that extra step to make me feel Iâm the only customer they have. The ironic thing about all this is I did not even buy the car from them, but they treat me like I did. Even after something as simple as an oil change they still wash and wax the car for me and for that mater I can drop it off at anytime and they will wash and wax it for me at no charge for any reason no questions asked. They even told me to drop off my Touareg with them and they would wash and wax it for me too at no charge. Plus if I need to leave the car for repairs they always have a loan car for me, I donât even have to ask and the nice thing. The loaner is Audi, not some clunker econ box Toyota like some high so called high ended dealers in Dallas offer and thatâs only if you ask.

I suppose what Iâm trying to say is that I really don't think you could go wrong with a new A6 especially if you find a dealer like I have here in Dallas. Yea the Audi can get up there in price especially now after there price increases, even more than same class BMW's, Mercedes and so on. So they are not the cheaper of the German Luxury cars anymore and like all European cars they can be a bit quirky at first but in class of car there is not a car out there that is more fun, more comfortable, more fulfilling a person can drive (at least in my opinion and experience).

I might also add that this A6 I' have right now is the only car I've been able to drive for more than 18 hours non stop (with the exception of getting gas) that I did not want to get out and just kick the hell out of because every inch of my body was aching. I could not wait to get back in and get back on the road, but I have to sleep. The A6 is just that nice it's just that much fun and as an added bonus, this car does not know a dry road from a wet one (I keep really good tires on mine which might be one reason), it has handled the same for me on all road conditions without fail and thatâs been flawlessly. Plus anyone whose driven it has just fallen in love with it too some prefer to drive my A6 over there brand new cars. But again I take really good care of my cars and really spare no expense when it comes to making sure they remain in tip top shape.

I'll be buying a new one soon myself but I'm kinda tempted to wait for the new TT to come out. Since I already have the Touareg which is a great people, stuff, boat, cargo and just nice all around hauler, it might be time to have a car just for the fun of it? Iâve always bought cars for practical reasons. Anyway welcome to the Audi family I know you will enjoy yourself, I have.

Cars Future Value?

Johnny

Hello, i was wondering how much an Audi S5 2013 would be in 2016. How much will it decrease by? Is there a calculator or site that explains the future value of cars?

Answer
German luxury cars drop in value at an alarming rate. just looking at some older S5s in my area, a 2008 S5 is up for sale for around $27,000. that's nearly half the price of the car. since you are looking at the future value in 3 years, from a quick search in my area, a 2011 S5 is going for around $35,000 to $40,000. compared to the $60,000 - $70,000 pricetag that 2013 models have in my area that's around a 50% loss in 3 years.

seriously though if you are looking for a car with good resale, a german luxury sports car is among the worst you can get. i think the worst contender is the Porsche Cayenne by the way. I saw a 2006 cayenne turbo s up for sale at $32,000. That's an SUV that new sold for around $150,000 capable of speed and off roading with luxury for a similar price of a mid or full size sedan.

What is your personal choice? I want the best car $50,000 will buy...........................................

Q.

Answer
Right up to the limit is a safe bet on the all-around Lexus GS.
With spare change, the new Infiniti G35 is really a wonderful driver's car with the luxury. Similar european choices in the Audi A6 and BMW 5 series. It's a matter of what type of personality you're looking for in your car and how you intend on driving it. All of those are different and you have to test drive them.
With 50 grand in your pocket, it would be wise not to settle for a domestic. They are not nearly as refined in drive and luxury, especially compared to the european (German) cars, and are hardly as efficient as the Japanese premium sport sedans.

thank god for google translate.

Answer
Bugatti cars are not French but they're made in Alsace, France because Ettore Bugatti was an Italian with French origins apart from that, unfortunately, there are no French sport cars but in the streets of Paris you can see lots of Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini ... A few days ago I saw a Bugatti Veyron at avenue Victor Hugo, in Paris, I'm not really interested in cars but my fiancé is mad about them.

... There's no interest in driving a sport car in France because the speed limit in the city is 50km / h, sometimes 30 km / h ... On French highways, the maximum speed authorised is 130 km / h so what can you do with a Bugatti Veyron under such circumstances ?

Can I bring an American sports car to Italy, France, or Germany?

Dylan

My dad might be getting a job in Dubai ( I doubt it though), and my family may move to Italy, France, or Germany to be closer, and to experience another country. My mom has a 2000 Ford Mustang V6 convertible that we are thinking about bringing if we do go. She don't want to buy a car over there for the year or two he will be in Dubai. We are thinking about trading the mustang for a 1998-2002 Pontiac Trans Am though. And if we can bring it, how much would it likely be? Thanks!!! :-)

Answer
Not worth the bother or expense. With the cost of gas in the countries you listed you would NOT want an American built car there unless you are filthy rich.

In most cases you would also have to have parts for routine maintenance or repairs shipped from the U.S. Just buy a cheap European car.

If you still planning on doing this keep the Mustang. There are more Mustangs around than Pontiacs. making it easier to get parts if needed.

Looking for $15,000 used sports car, Any Suggestions?

Jay

Answer
Honda S2000

Probably the best car EVER.

Absolutely no problems even after 147k on my 2001. Not one thing broke, i mean the clutch was replaced once, and oil change every 5k and tires also which were replaced every 25k but that's with my driving.

I have another 2001 with 42k on it and I wouldn't trade it for any car except a ferrari or a new BMW m5. Search on Autotrader.com they have very good prices and also ebay. By the way the 2001-2002 year is the best year for the car because its perfect!

Look at these for sale!

How did it work out when George HW decided to target the rich with luxury taxes?

Q. How many boat builders and luxury car making laborers lost their jobs?
Did it take to long to see the trickle down effect of economic jealousy?
All knowing one - They repealed it quickly as it destroyed parts of the economy. No thanks for your false facts.

Answer
Twelve days ago, the luxury tax on expensive cars expired. It was the last of the luxury taxes that the first President Bush signed in 1990 as part of the budget agreement in which he broke his "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge.

The agreement was brokered Sen. George Mitchell , D-Maine , then majority leader. And the luxury tax was supported by Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.

The luxury tax applied not just to cars, but to jewelry, furs and private planes, and to expensive boats â yachts.

Not So Lucrative

Congress estimated that in 1991 these luxury taxes would rake in $31 million. But the actual sum was just $16.6 million.

Why? Because, to the surprise of no one except tax-raising politicians the luxury taxes caused people to buy less jewelry and fewer expensive cars, planes, and, especially, yachts.

The tax destroyed jobs â an estimated 25,000 of them in the boat-building industry, much of which is in New England â in Sen. Mitchell's Maine and Sen. Kennedy's Massachusetts.

Job losses cost the government more than $24 million in unemployment benefits and lost income tax revenue. So the luxury tax actually cost the government money.

New England's boat-building industry was still so devastated by 1999 that another Kennedy â Ted's son Patrick, a Rhode island congressman â actually proposed a federal subsidy to help rich people buy yachts. He called it, "exactly the opposite of a luxury tax."

Remember this costly farce when you hear talk about helping the common folks by taxing the rich.

Why did we have all these technological advances during a recession?

Iliketomak

Smartphones, tablets, better gas mileage on cars. I understand that technology advances quickly, but why did all these advances have to happen during and after the economic downturn of '07?

Answer
Not everybody suffered. Many basic manufacturing businesses never felt anything except maybe fewer sales, because of less of a demand. Luxury items suffered, however. Yachts and private planes dropped a lot, for example. So, time marches on and they (basic manufacturers) continued research and development of their products. It was the banks and insurance companies and real estate that suffered the most. Little people like me, part time inventors, who were involved with securities sold by the banks, lost money on the investments, but that did not bankrupt me, since I was diversified. I only lost 40% of what I had invested. Investment is like gambling, but what you are betting on is different. You can bet on the toss of a coin or bet on the skills and products of a company. Either way, over time, you win or you lose.
