I want to go into car sales for more luxury cars. How many years will it be?

Answer
You definitely don't need a degree to sell cars. And you won't start with luxury cars. Those dealerships will want you to have a successful track record of selling cars before they would hire you.

What is a good car for a small business owner?

jimmyluger

I started a company doing frelance technology consulting three years ago and got my billing up to 8k a month, where I can afford a new luxury car, (have owned BMW and Infinitis in the past).

I think I am sensible enough that I am going to limit my budget to 18-20k. Any reccomendations based on that budget?

I spend a lot of time driving between appointments.

Emotionally, I want to get a late model used luxury car but the prudent side of me is saying to go even lower and get something like a used Malibu for 10-11K.

Currently in a two seater 96 Ford Ranger, which I bought when I decided to jettison my bills beginning with car note back when I started my little company 3 years ago. It is so small I have never driven a client in it and I try to hide it by parking it far away when meeting potential clients.

Answer
I would go for a VW Passat, in that budget, they are reliable, and could last a long time,.

How much do you get paid to put decals on your sports car?

RJ

I've seen some nice sports cars owned mostly by younger guys and they have tire company logos and such all over. I guess they get paid to advertise? How much do you get and how do you go about doing this? I guess thats how these kids afford these fancy cars.

Answer
First, most companies don't give you money just for putting a sticker on their car. Those kids you see are called ricers. They put these stickers all over their car to represent the products they installed (sometimes just to put a sticker on, even though nothing on the car was made by that company), giving free advertising to the manufacturer. Only an idiot does that in my book. Now, there are things called sponsorships, which pay people to put their logo on their car. To get a sponsorship takes some work though. Nobody just gives it free because they want to, you have to have something to offer. Show cars, race cars are about the only reason people would get paid to put a logo on their car. And even then, the payments are rarely in money. Usually, payments from sponsors are in the form of product. So if you are a racer and you get a sponsor from, say, Toyo tires, they might give you a free set of tires, or a deep discount even.
Also, in the NHRA, there is what is called a contingency sponsorship. This is a little different. This is a case where, if you win a national NHRA event, or place in the top 3/5/etc., and you have the companies' sticker on your car, you can get the track official to take a picture of the car, sign an affidavit that they saw the sticker and products on your car when you won the race, and you can submit it to the company, IE MSD, AutoMeter, etc. Then the company will send you a check. In other words, anyone who wins a national NHRA race and has required products on their car, can get a sponsorship simply by winning. For example, AutoMeter you have to have at least 3 of their gauges installed in your car AND have their logo displayed on the outside of your car, usually both sides, in order to qualify for the contingency prize. The upside, though, is the contingency prize is something like $350 in some cases. I know a person who has gotten over $10,000 in contingency sponsorship money by winning 1 race event because of all the products he had on his car.

What luxury car is the best, in price and performance?

mrsbev88

I own an Audi A6 and a Volvo, but what about the rest? I don't want to buy one that doesn't have good resale value or that has lots of problems right out of the gate.

Answer
Lexus, Infiniti, Acura - Not even worth the time it took to type their names. Think of their counter parts;

Lexus is Toyota - Infiniti is Nissan - Acura is Honda

Now we move onto BMW and Mercedes-Benz

BMW is Bentley - Mercedes-Benz is Maybach

There is a huge difference between a Bentley and a Honda!

BMW is the best in class, It holds it's value better than any other car on the market.

I have owned a BMW since 2003 and it has never had a problem with the exception of a speaker that likes to crackle. I own a Mercedes-Benz ML500 SUV and it is a beautiful car, but has had it's share of minor problems. I own a Volkswagen Passat, The Audi's counterpart and I have had a few problems with battery related issues.

My Family owns several Mercedes-Benz, a BMW, 2 Audi's and a Volkswagen Touareg. The cars that have seen the repair shop the most are those by Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

However, despite our combined problems, I have ordered an E Class Mercedes, 2008.

Mercedes-Benz was recently acquired by General Motors, Hence their maintinence issues. But the way that they drive, keeps me coming back for more.

Those of Asian descent may have the best repair records, but nothing looks or performs like a German car. German cars also have a better resale value and a higher price tag because they use higher quality materials, better engineering and have a reputable name behind them.

If you want a worry free car, your best bet is a BMW of any series.

How would you compare a Cadillac to a foreign car?

Harvey

I want to get a 2001 STS (77,000 miles), but my family keeps saying if I don't go with a foreign, I am going to have trouble, or atleast more trouble than If I would of got a foreign. But, If i went with a foreign, it would not be as high-class as a Cadillac, Cadillacs are considered luxury ...........................are foreign cars considered that much better than a Cadillac?

Answer
ON used cars ...

its a 2001 8 year Old Top of the Line car.

Cars all have problems and things can happen to any car at any time Batterys, alternators, tires, brakes, fuel, etc... Again anything at any time can go wrong. With any car ot truck.

ONLY 63 % of people try to service and take care of what cars and trucks they own and keep everything up to date.

11% just put Gas in and Drive and Have NO clue or don't care. They just don't care. Some of them shouldn't even be on the road. 2%

So Import Vs Caddy ....

If the 01 STS is 77K miles Clean and looks good.
its a great car as used cars go. The motor is Designed after the Corvette LT5 but for Front wheel drive call the NORTHSTAR that have a great track record over the years.

Price VS what needs to be Serviced on the car makes your value. Tires, brakes, tune-up, fuel filter ( last one replaced)

Import.... what can you find for the same price ? With the same track record. or the same Value ? Is what you have to look at.

If I could buy one for trade in value I would buy one.

But most ost more 4200 and up.
http://www.kbb.com/kbb/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2001&Mileage=77000&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=8&ModelId=327&PriceType=Trade-In&VehicleId=3845&SelectionHistory=3845%7c32927%7c76306%7c0%7c0%7c147304%7ctrue&Condition=Good&QuizConditions=

So they hold thier value on the used car market.

Good Luck shopping.

Dodge Challenger wanders over roads that are bad and steering pulls to right?

tommaso

Hello, 2011 Challenger RT. The low profile wheels seem to follow every groove in the road and steering wheel bounces out of hand and some times is cocked to right side, especially when braking.

The car has the stock 245/45/20 tires

-Car only has 10k miles. Any reasons why this could happen and what can be done to remedy the situation?
-Is it normal for a sports car to show this more than other kinds of cars?

Answer
Pulling to one side is a sign that the wheels are out of alignment. Usually cause by rounning over something like a pot hole or hitting a curb too hard. This is not covered under the factory warranty.

As for the harsh ride. This is a Muscle Car. It has wide low profile tires. Of course it is going to ride like crap and would pull when it encounters a groove on the pavement. There is no give in the sidewalls of the tires. The wide tread gives more traction. The price you pay to have a car that can pull almost a full G in a corner.

Didn't you notice this when you took the car out for a test drive?

When is China going to 'full-scale' reform to fight inequality?

Freely

By Boris Cambreleng | AFP News,

China's stated aim to narrow the income gulf between its sports-car driving elite and vast numbers who still live in poverty will need radical political and economic changes to work, say economists.

Long-delayed "proposals on the distribution of income" were announced this week ahead of Sunday's Lunar New Year, as hundreds of millions working in cities returned to their rural homes, many without running water or heating.

Beijing promised to improve the lives of these rural migrant workers, who are denied equal access to health, education and housing services in cities under a half-century old system of residency permits known as "hukou".

"Migrant workers from rural areas will be assisted to register as citizens and entitled to all basic public services in the cities," according to the measures quoted by the official Xinhua news agency.

But the aspirational document was generally short of concrete steps.

Tax reductions will be "promoted" for low- and middle-income earners, it said, and the government will "target" reducing the number of people living on less than $1 a day by around 80 million by 2015.

In 2011 Xinhua said 150 million Chinese live on less than that, a stark contrast to the country's image as the world's manufacturing heartland, the holder of its biggest foreign exchange reserves and a motor of global recovery.

The extent of inequality in China, particularly between urban and rural areas, saw authorities refuse to publish the country's Gini coefficient, a commonly used measure of inequality, for more than 10 years.

In December a research centre which operates under China's central bank said its Gini coefficient stood at 0.61, one of the highest in the world. A Gini figure of zero represents perfect equality of income and 1 total inequality.

Last month China's government said the figure was 0.47, higher than the United States, and above the 0.4 figure widely cited as a "danger level" for social discontent.

Research centre director Gan Li questioned the official statistic, arguing that the government "has not published the percentage of people who refused to answer" and "the richer they are, the more likely they are to refuse to answer".

Like other economists, Gan believes the authorities underestimate the incomes of the wealthy, who hide a significant portion of their earnings.

China has seen an explosion in its luxury goods market -- which grew 56 percent last year -- as Western makers of products from designer handbags to yachts and supercars pile in.

The boom casts doubt on government statistics saying the top 10% of earners had an average annual income of 59,000 yuan ($9,500) in 2011, economist Wang Xiaolu said recently in Caijing, a respected economics journal. "Solving the income distribution issue requires full-scale reform," he wrote on his blog.

Aware of the growing resentment against the rich and endemic corruption, the Communist Party is urging officials to be frugal, pledging strict controls on government spending on banquets, car purchases and overseas travel.

But many observers say that fundamental tax reforms are essential to create more equal income distribution.

The government plan said only that property tax, which some cities have been experimenting with, will be extended, and inheritance tax will be introduced "at the appropriate time".
Local governments derive much of their income from land sales, leading to many farmers being evicted from their land and compensated below market rates.

The newly released plan says that farmers will be "guaranteed proceeds" from land sales, but Hu called for greater changes to China's system of property rights, where all land is officially owned by the state or rural collectives. "Farmers should be able to develop or sell their land, which is their collective property," he said.

Mao Yushi, a guru of economic liberalisation in China, called for reforms to the financial system, where firms with close connections to the state receive the vast majority of bank loans, leaving small-business owners short of capital.

"The princelings can go to the bank and get money just on the strength of their status and get rich on this basis," he said, referring to the children of members of the communist elite.

"The two-tier society of rich and poor is everywhe
The distinctive characteristic of China is people who have special powers and bully others."
Thanks for the 2 great answers.

Now I start to realize the reason China's inequality problem can never be solved after reading CCPkv's long answer which is somewhat like an emperor asking a beggar on the street why the latter doesn't go home to cook himself a steak instead of searching for food in trash bins.

Answer
There isn't anything the elite can really do to change the monstrosity created by CCP corruption. It runs too deep and too far to an extreme. The People no longer believe that the government has their best interests at heart...

"Limited capitalism" should NOT have been instituted ONLY for the benefit of greedy criminals. Instead of promoting unity and balance in a society, the CCP chose to employ selfishness and strong-arm tactics to abuse the poor.

Perhaps the CCP cannot learn from history, and that's why they constantly try to change it via propaganda. "French Revolution"????

Opening a Roth IRA - 19 years old with various questions?

bottledsec

Hi! So. I've been working since I was 15(?), had income coming in since then, but knew nothing really about money management so the money was just plunked into my savings account or spent. A real pity, since I recently discovered Roth IRAs and I could have started making contributions earlier... Anyways, I'm trying to start now so that I can make a full $5000 2012 contribution at least before April rolls around, and I had a couple questions!

1. I'm considering opening my Roth at Vanguard or Schwab. Vanguard pros: gain access to their great index funds; con: my balance of $5000 will only be enough to invest in maybe one fund with their minimum of $3000 for a fund. Schwab pros: their low $100 minimum for funds; cons: compared to Vanguard, they have less index fund choices. What seems like a better idea or is there a better alternative? As a note, I'm a beginner, so Scottrade, E*Trade, or other brokerages with low trade costs and such don't really interest me, since trading is yet intimidating.

2. Can I make my 2013 contribution right after my 2012 contribution? Per say, put $5000 before April, and then put $5500 for 2013 at the end of April? Also, how will my brokerage know that the $5000 is a 2012 contribution if I'm putting it in so late? Do I put a memo that it's a 2012 contribution?

3. Lastly, am I looking at everything all wrong or missing any money management tips? If I'm being an idiot, please let me know - after all.. I am barely 19 ^_^

Thanks!

Additional Information: I am a college student, I am estimating $12k in federal subsidized student loan debt (estimating interest rate at 3.4%) by the time I graduate in 2015. I may withdraw some of my contributions at that point if I don't immediately get employed. Just trying to take advantage of the Roth tax break as much as I can T__T I heard it makes a big difference later in life once you're retired...
my earned income has exceeded $5500 for the past three years.
*correction: my earned income has exceeded $5500 EACH year for the past three years. For 2012, my earned income was around $12000.

Answer
A Roth IRA has to be funded out of earned income

"You must have earned income at least equal to the amount you contribute to Roth accounts for the year. Net income from self-employment counts just the same as wage or salary income.". (Smart Money)

So what you earned at fifteen, sixteen, or seventeen cannot be invested unless you have at least $5000 in earned income this last tax year.

Secondly - "Roth contributions are nondeductible. But the earnings build up tax-free. And withdrawals are free of federal income tax as long as the account has been open at least five years and you're age 59 1/2 or older. (Smart Money)

So you've paid income tax on this money so you're not saving on taxes paid by buying a Roth IRA. and you are sure that you will not need any of this money until you're 55? Not getting married or buying a home, or a luxury car etc. etc.? It all depends on your regular savings but ROTH IRA is about retirement and I don't think it's healthy to think about retirement when you're a teenager.

Invest the money but have it in a regular brokerage account where you can spend it when you need it. Trust me - in the next forty years you'll need it. Besides, perhaps you're the next Bill Gates. Do you think he socked away $10,000 i a retirement account at 19? Does it make any difference if he did?

is the chicago mafia responsible for starting gambling and "las vegas as we know it"?

Q. i know in the movie casino and also in a simpsons episode they referenced "the chicago outfit" as running las vegas and making it the gambling and sports betting destination that its known as today back in the 50's and 60's. any truth to this ?

Answer
Good morning Derek,

I hope you are enjoying the first few days of the New Year. I am heading for Pechanga Casino later today.

http://www.pechanga.com/

I love history. Your question hit home because I parked cars on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood as a teenager in 1958â. I was still in high school. I saw a lot of movie stars and ganger types. Boy did they tip well. Busey Siegel is given credit for starting Las Vegas as we know it today. Las Vegas was his dream but he never saw his dream come true. I strongly suggest you read a book called âthe Green Felt Jungleâ. It is one of the very first books about Las Vegas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Green_Felt_Jungle

The New York mob was during very well in California with the opening of Santa Ana Race track in 1934. The New York mob sent Busby Siegel and Meyer Lansky to California in 1937 to start up and develop more gambling operations on the west coast. They met up with another well known Hollywood mob figure named Mickey Cohen. Their first real venture was the Flamingo Casino in 1946.

With the help of mob and Mormon money, Busby went crazy. He went on a spending spree as he envisioned this high class Flamingo Casino in the middle of Las Vegas. The Flamingo Casino opened and lost thousands of dollars. I think it only stayed open for a few months. Busby Siegel was shot and killed in Beverly Hills the following year. He never saw his dream come true. I am only outlining what happen. This is why I encourage you to read the book.

As you note I put down Mormon money. This part is not in the book, but it is true. I hope you enjoy the history part. I will start from the beginning.

The greatest military march in the history of the United States was made by the Mormon Battalion in 1846. The march was made to save California from Mexico, and give the Mormons their own state. They did save California. Los Angeles and many west coast cities still have monuments and historic sites honoring their march.

http://www.mormonwiki.com/Mormon_Battalion

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormon_Battalion

What does this have to do with Las Vegas? After the march a few Mormons stayed to wait out the winter. They got a job building a mill. After they finished Sutterâs Mill, they stopped off to collect and cash in some gold. They had bags of gold. The rest is history. Gold discovered at Sutter Mill. This was the cause of the gold rush to California. The Mormons collected their share of gold weeks before. On their way back home, they purchased thousands of acres of land for the Mormon Church while crossing Nevada.

After the death of Busey Siegel, many New York mobsters saw the potential of Busby Siegelâs dream of gambling in Las Vegas. From 1952 to 1957, through money and institutional lending provided by the Teamsters Union now under the control of mobsters and Mormon bankers they built the Sahara, the Sands, the New Frontier, the Showboat, The Riviera, The Fremont, The Horseshoe, and The Tropicana.

The casinos are owned and operated by a joint combine of Mormon elders who provided political and business legitimacy, and people involved with organized crime provided unreported income and street muscle, such as Meyer Lansky, Buseyâs original partner. These crime hotels are regarded as the modern day Las Vegas of gambling and entertainment which we know today.

Well Derek, I hope you enjoyed the little known history of Las Vegas. One other thing, Mickey Cohen, who was Busbyâs enforcer, sold me my first car. He offered me his 57â Chevy right on the spot because he just got the first introduced 58â Chevrolet Impala.

http://www.oldride.com/library/1957_chevrolet_bel_air.html

Good luck Derek. You and your family have a beautiful year. Peace, from Los Angeles.

Where can I hang out between check out and late flight?

AnswerLady

I'm leaving Las Vegas on a midnight flight on a Friday in April and I'm wondering where I can hang out between when I check out of my hotel and when I need to be at the airport. I will have already had a couple of day's of sightseeing so I'm really just looking for somewhere semi-comfortable and safe that I can hang out, maybe with a TV and access to a bathroom and food. I don't want to spend a lot (if I did, I'd just pay $150 for another night in my room). Even the cheap hotels are too expensive on a Friday night to take a room for a few hours. I'm not a drinker, so a bar's not an option either. Any ideas?

Answer
Ok, here goes:

First, always ask for late check out. Most places will give you and hour or two extra at no charge. Then, if your budget allows, considering asking to extended check out. Most hotels, depending on demand/room availability will let you stay for a half day (usually til 6PM) for an additional half day rate. Ask your hotel for more information.

You don't mention where you are staying or if you'll have a car. If you won't have a car, I'd suggest going somewhere near the airport. You don't want to have a long cab right to McCarran on a Friday night. The TV part is tough. You can hang around in the Sports Book, but all they play are sporting events. The bathroom part is going to be a challenge too.

I prefer to have car, even at the extra expense. Having a car means after I check out, I can throw my bags in the trunk and go almost anywhere I want within a reasonable distance of the airport, as long as I allow enough time to drop my car off and get the the terminal.

Personally, I love to peoplewatch in Vegas. Check out the Starbucks just of the casino floor at the MGM Grand. Grab a cup of coffee and a seat on the rail and watch folks go bye.

One final thing: If you don't have a car and check your bags with the bell desk, ask for a bellman when picking them up if you are taking a cab to the airport. At most of the big casinos, the bellman can arrange for you to cut to the front of the cab line because you are going to the airport. If so, please tip them approprietly.

Have a great trip!

How do I know if a cold air intake would benefit my car's performance?

luxury cars gas mileage on New Next High Mpg Car Release and Price on prices-cars.com
luxury cars gas mileage image

BK C

I drive an Acura CL Type S, and I was told to get a cold air intake to increase horsepower. I was also told it would help by giving me a little bit better gas mileage. I've heard it helps with horsepower, but does it help with gas mileage as well? Also, since my car is basically a half-sports, half-luxury car anyways, would I really notice that much of an improvement at all? My knowledge of automobiles is very limited, so I just learn as I go :)

Answer
The best mod for a N/a car is an intake, most cars see a decent hp jump when buying one of the higher price intakes such as Injen, Aem and etc. You will see better mpg on the highway, you do know that with more power you will be tempted to step on it a little more in the beginning so you might see a little lower since you will enjoy the sound the intake makes when you step on it. The best thing to improve mpg is free up the movement of air into and out of your car.

What luxury cars get great gas mileage?

Ara

Looking for 2010, 2011 or 2012 luxury car for around 30,000 with close to 40 mpg. My wife and I don't want to settle for a Prius or Civic, but we do want good MPG because we drive so much. Is this possible without spending too much more?

Answer
If you take a closer look at the Prius, you'll see that you aren't "settling". It has many of features only found in luxury cars. It's a mid-sized car, not a compact like the Civic, so room is not a problem.

Note that decent luxury cars start at about $45,000.

My 2004 Prius has cost 12 cents per mile for dealer maintenance, tires, and fuel combined over the 120,000 trouble-free miles I've driven it so far.

My 2004 Prius MPG from the logbook. (Complete years only):
2003-2004 -- 50.8 mpg 17,628 miles
2005 -- 52.6 mpg 14,688 miles
2006 -- 56.3 mpg 16174 miles
2007 -- 57.3 mpg 18384 miles
2008 -- 59.9 mpg 21755 miles
2009 -- 61.4 mpg 16177 miles
2010 -- 65.2 mpg 12134 miles

What is there to do in Cleveland?

Tristan

I'm here for a few performances... I don't know what there is to do. This place doesn't seem to.... I don't know.

Answer
Well, though this city might not have much to offer, you can still have a great time there. :P

========== Tourist attractions========
If you prefer to do typical tourist things, you will also get a long list of places worth visiting. :)
For sightseeing, you can go to Cleveland Arcade â one of the most famous landmarks in the city. And there is a wonderful food court right next to the attraction, do not miss out it.

Other âmust-visitâ tourist attractions in Cleveland include Cleveland Metroparks, Kent Sate University Museum, James A. Garfield National Historic site, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History etc.

Places like Steamship William G. Mather Museum
Western Reserve Historical Society
Akron Zoo
Hower House Victorian Mansion, National
Presidential First Ladies Museum and
Library and Canton Classic Car Museum might also great options.

If possible, pay a visit to Rock and roll hall of fame, great lakes science center, William G. Mather Museum and USS Cod are located in downtown area.

==========Bars & clubs========
As for places to hang out, you might head to some nightclubs in Cleveland area. some of them are really nice. below are a few options for you:

House of Blues Cleveland.
308 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114
They will open from 11:30 am to 10 pm, from Tuesday through Friday. Actually, there will be an exciting event taking place at the HOB tonight - Sara Bareilles w/ Raining Jane. Unfortunately, the tickets have been sold out already.

The Mercury Lounge is also a nice option. If you do visit this venue, chances are you can catch a concert or show there.

There are also some pickup bars/clubs, these will be ideal places for you:
*Shooters at 1148 Main Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113
This bar boasts a fantastic view and Indoor/outdoor patio for people to have some drinks and relaxing conversations.
216-861-6900
http://www.shootersflats.com

* The Velvet Dog - 1280 W. 6th St.Cleveland, OH 44113 - 216-664-1116
This bar is also a wonderful dance club. They have outdoor and rooftop patio, so you can enjoy a great view of the surrounding areas while chatting and playing.

* Dive Bar - 1214 W. 6th St.Cleveland, OH 44113 - 216-621-7827
Well, itâs a sports bar, so chances are you can meet singles who are also fans of your favorite sports team. :)

==========places to eat========
Well, Cleveland has some wonderful restaurants for sure. Below are just a few of them which I like the most. For you to refer to⦠:)

*Wonton Gourmet & BBQ - 3211 Payne Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114
This restaurant opens from 11am to 11:30 pm every day, except Tuesdays. you can make a reservation at (216) 875-7000.

*Vincenza's Pizza & Pasta - 603 Prospect Ave E, Cleveland, OH 44115
(216) 241-8382
Itâs also a pretty good option. Award-winning food at reasonable prices. Amazing pizzas. They serve lunch and dinner. The only shame is that this restaurant closed early, about 6:30pm.

* Ponte Vecchio â2100 Superior Via, Cleveland, OH 44113
(216) 556-8200
Thatâs a place for you guys to have a romantic dinner. Well, great atmosphere, delicious food and nice staff. They got a really special menu and you can enjoy a good selection of drinks there.

This info might be useful for you. Wish you an enjoyable trip in Cleveland.

What is the coolest sports car under 100k?

extreme sports cars on Continental ExtremeContact DWS Lowest Price Tires
extreme sports cars image

Dr. Biz

This includes used ferraris, and brand new sports cars, dodge vipers, corvettes etc. Basically the question is if I had 100k what would be the best sports car to buy, and since there really is no where to use the full speed of a sports car it's basically the wow factor i'm interested in.

Answer
Saleen S302 Sterling Extreme comes right into your budget. It may be a 'Stang but Saleen definitely know how to tune their 'Stangs. Those Vipers and 'Vettes will be eating your dust on a racetrack. Also there is the Lotus Exige as others have stated but being a track car, even the air-con and floor mats are optional extras, and the semi-racing slicks would wear a s***-load quicker than normal tyres. They're also awkward to get in and out of. The Toyota VVT-i engine is a blast though. Steve Saleen has also made a new business tuning Dodge, his first one is the SMS 570 Challenger. You could also go for a BMW M6, Jaguar XKR, and a Porsche 911 Carrera. The possibilities are nearly endless.

What are the brands that are popular with local skaters and famous skaters alike?

Mack

I guess this is what thrills you up. No need to worry as brands like DC Shoes makes clothing, shoes and accessories for all kinds of extreme sports including: skateboarding, snowboarding, bmx, rally car racing, motocross and surfing in affordable price range. DC Shoes is popular amongst a wide range of people.

Answer
In boards I would say Plan B. I use a Plan B Prolight with Shecler on the bottom. I just got this wood yesterday so I hope it lasts me a while. In clothes in stuff I would say Circa. Well I am wearing a Darkstar t-shirt right now so yeah. Shoes I would probably say like Adio or Air Speed because why buy a pair of 70$ shoes at a local skate store if you can get a pair of 20$ pair of Air Speeds from Walmart that last you just as long? But I have a pair of both and there both durable. DC shoes are trash to me, completely throwing away your money.

What is a good sports/racing car with 200hp+ or more?

SK8R_93

a cheap car that can mod and get more hp than Honda, Mitsubishi, etc. under 8k?
i tried these cars Acuras rsx, Hyundai tibs, Mitsubishi eclipse gt,Chevy camaros but don't really feel the push i wanna get a nice car any good cars? i want some thing fast i know its to much to ask for.

Answer
a WRX will smoke all those cars with a good driver.. An STi will leave them wondering where you went. I have a small WRX and will leave all those cars looking at my tail lights all day long. Now a true camaro ss will be as issue.. A 5 year old STi has 300 hp roughly and a WRX almost 270.. All wheel drive and four doors to boot. Subbies are NOT cheap to modify a good intake is over 250 and an exhaust is almost a grand.. but the beauty is! you dont have to modify them!

What car has a swan figurine on the front?

luxury cars 1930s on Babez.de - Maybach Exelero Show Car
luxury cars 1930s image

RICHARD B

Answer
Defiantly not a VW. I think Packard might have done a swan at one time. Many of the 1920s and 1930s luxury car makes like Packard and Peirce Arrow had really big hood ornaments that can weigh up to several pounds and cost hundreds of dollar.

what are the differences between the poor/rich/middle class during the depression?

chen y

Answer
If your talking about the 1920s/1930s

then the Rich Class bought the fanciest of clothes, car, any luxury goodies to show in public that they were the Upper Class. They also attended parties, premieres, theatrical plays and college, mostly private or high end.

Middle Class was the majority of the population. Not making enough to enjoy all the luxuries the Upper Class could but not in poverty. Most could afford the everyday consumer goods. Usually attended public schooling

The Poor(lower class) were usually immigrants and Native-born Americans that the whole family were working low wage jobs under poorer conditions. They lived paycheck to paycheck basically. Usually lived in poorly kept apartments, or housing. Some of the lower class would also include farmers and other agricultural workers. They bought enough to survive with the little wages they had.

Now the depression caused for these classes to downgrade a bit, but it the 3 classes never disappeared. Some became more of a lower class but it wasn't as if the whole population lost everything. The lower class suffered the most, the middle class suffered, and the upper class may have not been able to afford all the luxury items but were better off than the other two classes

Are we (as Americans) ever going to be able to free our addiction from oil?

sports cars in india on ... sports cars or formula 1 cars living in india then i just wanted
sports cars in india image

merlin_ste

I don't really want to, myself. I come from generations of sports car owners, many of us love our cars and fast trucks. Can there be alternatives that can help our country stay powerful and our citizens still enjoy our need for speed?

Answer
I think we will eventually. For a few reasons:
1) There finally seems to be enough momentum and interest on the part of consumers for vehicles that consume less gas. Its no longer a "fringe thing" or a hobby or a "tree hugger" thing. Every day people are fed up with high gas prices and our dependence on less friendly nations. The more demand there is from consumers, the more incentive manufacturers will have to make such vehicles.
2) Gas prices are not coming down significantly anytime soon. There was a bit on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago where Texas Billionaire investor T. Boone Pickens was discussing investments he was making in Canadian Oil Sands. He said "We'll never see $1.50 gas again." I agree. With the surging demand from countries that are just starting out in their economic growth cycles (India and China), the demand for all petroleum based products is only going to get worse. This will further push up world oil prices and further infuriate already frustrated consumers of gas.
3) On the innovation front, Venture Capital firms and others with money to invest are looking for the "next big thing". The Internet was the fad of the 90's. Now, looking for a new wave to catch, I'd say a significant amount of money is going into startups looking at ways to reduce our dependence on petroleum. This could include investments in Fuel Cells, Hydrogen Technologies, Solar Technologies, BioDiesel, etc. Innovations that come out of these investment efforts should, hopefully, yield some technologies that help the US (and world) consumers break their addiction to oil.
