Is a 2006 chevrolet lacetti sport a good first car?

Pkufart

I am looking for a solid first car but i don´t really want to drive around in a crapcake 2000.

Answer
Appears to be a good choice for a first car. It was originally a Daewoo, that Chevrolet purchased the company and put their moniker on the car. It was rated well for value which is what a first car is about. The sport model has more power and features than the base. The hatchback allows good use in transport. Although not safety crash tested in Europe (This is a European car never sold in the the US, and under a different name in other regions), it does have ABS brakes and driver, passenger, and side air bags. Petrol efficiency is decent . As an economy car, you get the newer model years typically with less engine wear at a similar price to older cars. It appears to be well suited to be a first car. If you buy one, I hope you enjoy owning it.

I want to know about the best sport car in the world and why it is the best.

Answer
Your sports car.Muahahaha!

The best sports car is actually the Chevrolet Corvette.Simply because it offers the best of both worlds: Power and handling that are usually reserved for luxury sports cars, and a price tag that doesn't suck the breath from one's chest. Reviewers from all corners of the world love its sleek looks and the way the Corvette moves. Its performance is on par with sports cars costing nearly three times as much, making it ideal for those who thrive on the open roads but also like to have money left to spend on other things. The Corvette is the car that all others are hoping to beat in 2007.

Answer
Ferrari S.p.A. is an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Maranello and Modena, Italy. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari, the company sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars before moving into production of street legal vehicles in 1947 as Ferrari S.p.A.. Throughout its history, the company has been noted for its continued participation in racing, especially in Formula One, where it has largely enjoyed great success, especially during the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, late 1990s, and 2000s. After years of financial struggles, Enzo Ferrari sold the company's sports car division to the Fiat group in 1969 to ensure continued financial backing. Enzo Ferrari retained control of the racing division until his death in 1988 at the age of 90. Earlier that year he had overseen the launch of the Ferrari F40; the last new Ferrari to be launched before his death, and arguably one of the most famous supercars ever made.
Ferrari also has an internally managed merchandising line that licenses many products bearing the Ferrari brand, including eyewear, pens, pencils, electronic goods, perfume, clothing, high-tech bicycles, cell phones, and even laptop computers. Financial Times named Ferrari number one on its 2007 list of the 100 Best Workplaces in Europe.

Best low price 90s sports cars?

Jeff

looking to get a car to race around on the track.
I got all the Camaro's Mustang's, Corvette's and Trans am's, but is there anything else?
Cheaply priced, also say the year and make of the model.

Answer
Not sure what criteria you need to meet here. However, the Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3.8L supercharged puts out 240 HP stock. It is FWD though, if that makes a difference to you. It should be somewhat cheaper than the cars you mentioned but can compete with them speed-wise.

Also, if you go back to the 80s the IROC-Z Camaros had a great stock suspension package. Not sure what kind of track you are referring to, but this could be a plus. They should also be very reasonably priced if you can find one in good shape.

i have a 91 ford ranger right now and me and my mom are looking to sell that and get a new car. i was thinking about the 95-04 mustang but i dont really like the gas mileage, any help?

Answer
As far as cars in the 90s that are cheap but sporty only a mustang or a camaro. I know that you can sometimes find the camaros for extra cheap without too many problems.

Gas mileage is bad across the board to be honest, but the post 2000 mustangs are very nice and reliable cars. My cousins all own mustangs from that era (5 of them all with 1998-2004 mustang convertibles) and they do not have problems.

Again both the mustang and camaros are cheaper than many cars.

You can always just go for a lighter little sporty hatchback, what way you will have space like you are used to, but you will have more fun driving and get better mileage. I drive a toyota matrix xr and it is pretty fun considering.

New luxury car suggestion, with decent mpg?

Alex

Hi, looking for a luxury car with +25mph city that's a mid size family car

I test drove the Lexus is250H its nice, but I want a bit more power. what else is out there? I really want a V6 with good mpg. I want leather and sat nav and all the safety features, and yet comfortable to drive. Looking to lease new or buy slightly used, price range is 35-60k.

Last car, '07 BMW 335i and an '06 Infinity G35. I have a wife and a kid and I carpool kids around, still I feel like I deserve a bit of luxury.

Answer
I would recommend a Lexus GS450h. It seems to match all of your specifications. Its also much faster and nicer than the HS250h that you test drove.

Lexus GS450h
3.5 litre V6 Hybrid
E-CVT Transmission
340 hp (total output)
0-60 in 5.2 seconds
25 MPG
MSRP: $57,000-$70,000.

Old reliable luxury car?

b00rb

I want a "semi"-luxury car cheap (<$3000), I'm a high school student so I need it to last at least 2 more years, hassle free. I love how BMW's look, but I've heard they're not that reliable, so I've been looking at Infinitis. I want a sedan/coupe with decent gas mileage, from the '90s, and I by "semi"-luxury, I mean I want the car to have features like leather seats, power seats and windows, a/c, power steering, etc. Decent gas mileage is a plus too (15 MPG<)
Any suggestions?

Answer
If you are looking for a hassle free car for $3000 you may have a long wait. Try perhaps a top end low mileage car from a brand not noted for luxury cars, maybe a Hyundai or Kia perhaps. Domestic cars may also be worth a look, such as Buicks or Mercurys. Don't forget a luxury car will still have luxury car running costs, and all old cars will need repairs at some time. Good luck!.

What Old Sports Cars Have Decent MPG?

Ben

I recently got a Nissan 300zx i love the car, however it has terrible mileage....
and since im not filthy rich its a pain to put in like 200 dollars worth of gas every month,...
so i was wondering what other cars... equally as sporty... have pretty decent gas mileage (around 25 city...) and are at least 5-10 years old.

Answer
erhaps you need to pencil this fuel economy problem out a little further ...

You've got cars now that are "avg 22 mpg", which infers you're driving around 300 miles per week, not "150-200" ... on $40 per week. With $3.00/gal gasoline, that's 13 gallons of fuel per week.

But, looking at the cars that you've got under consideration ... let's suppose that you can get 30 mpg in your average (which is doubtfull). The reduction in fuel cost per week would take you to using only 10 gallons of gas per week, or $30.00 in fuel at your current amount of travels. So you'd save $10 per week in fuel ... and that's if you parked your Mustangs and didn't drive them at all.

Does it pay you to spend $5,000 in acquisition costs + insurance + registration to save $10 per week? that's on top of all the costs you've got with your two current cars which won't be driven ... or will they?

FWIW, a late 1990's Ford Ranger with a 3.0 V6 will turn in fuel economy in the 22 mpg range with an automatic trans. If you need a little pick-up for an occasional chore, these are pretty good little units. But to buy one for fuel economy in regular transportation doesn't pencil out. You won't get much better fuel economy in the 4-cylinder model, and the performance ... in town driving ... is kinda' sluggish, even without a load. With a tow load, the 4-cyl is a slow little truck. The larger F-150 with the 6-cylinder is a better truck if you need the towing and weight capacity ... but again, you're paying a full time price for a part time "maybe I'll be moving in a couple of years" need. You can rent a truck for that use and be many dollars ahead of the costs.

I don't know all the cars you've mentioned, but I've rented the Pontiacs. In actual driving, it's not reasonable to expect more than mid to high 20's fuel mileage. These cars ... and the similar vehicles ... simply won't achieve much fuel cost reduction for you. Few SUV's will do this in actual driving, either.

To see any truly significant reduction in your fuel cost per week, you need to look at cars that deliver fuel economy in the high 30's to low 40's mpg. At your price range, I know of cars that can do this ... but they're older and not without ongoing maintenance issues. I'm thinking older Tercels, Civics, Corolla's ... small cars which may or may not be something that you'd want to drive compared to the vehicles you've mentioned so far. In today's marketplace, I think you'll need to spend a lot more money up front to achieve significant fuel savings per week ... and the cost of the vehicle will take a long time to pay it back in savings, if at all.

Good gas mileage cars or suv's with 30+mpg?

I'm definitely not opposed to hybrids I really like the mazda tribute hybrid but there are none in my area.
And I have searched and searched online but I just don't really know what to look for car wise or suv wise thats going to have good gas mileage. I love the toyota prius with its up to 50mpg but i don't really understand all the things about the recall they had on them. Just any ideas would be great and on where to find them online would be sweet to. At the moment i drive a 1998 mustang convertible so
no matter what I get i'm going to be doing better gas mileage wise than with that.

Best used four-door luxury car for teenager?

exoticcar2

I've been driving with a permit for about 10 months now, I'll be 16 in two months, and my parents are already about to purchase a vehicle for me. I was thinking about a 2003 BMW 325i, 2006 Audi A4, or Jaguar X-Type. About how much is the insurance on these vehicles? Also, is there another vehicle you recommend for a first car?

Answer
I do not understand why you would want luxury when the necessity is barely met. Instead of buying a used luxury car with TONS of miles on them, why not just buy a BRAND NEW basic car? A Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla would do.

With the used luxury car, you will wreck it within the first year, bumping into poles and stuff. By the second year, parts will start breaking due to the high mileage of the car. By the third year, you will want to buy yet another car because the exterior is cosmetically wreck due to your poor driving, the internal parts will costs too much to fix, could even be more than how much the car is worth. In the end, you end up with nothing.

With a new basic Honda civic for example, you can wreck all you want because after all it's only a civic. With such a reliable car, you can put tons of miles and it would still be running. Even if it were to break down, the price to maintenance would be 1/3 of the luxury car.

Trust me, I've been through it!

Why are you impressed by luxury cars?

aouija

When millions of people on our planet are dying for lack of food and water, who can be impressed by some person dramatically overspending when they can buy comparable items for less. Why don't you see this is a greedy, self-important, nobody who thinks a $500, tax-deductible, yearly donation to some local charity makes them a good person. Why can't they see their car advertises the fact that they are doing less than what they can for the suffering. Why can't they see how big a difference they could make by using their resources to make this world a better place, not to compete with the neighbors. There is no competition, the poor don't care what you drive and they are the majority. Feed a million starving babies today, sell your Hummer for a Tahoe.
Mar 30, 2006 at 9:51 am
My Ford F-150 is hotter than ANY car and it cost a reasonable amount of money. Overspending means overcompensating......are you short somehow? Be confident in yourself, cool people don't need to advertise.

Whats a good sports car for a girl?

Shanz

Ok..I'm saving my money..but lets say I win the lottery or whatev..

I want some sleak lil sports car.

got ne suggestions?

Answer
Mazda Miata.
Don't laugh... They are some of the most widely renowned sports cars in the world. There are tons of races only involving Miatas. Straight from the factory they are cheap to maintain, sporty (two door convertible), have great handling, quick (due to the fact that they are light), and look pretty good too. If you check cars.com I'm sure you could find one in your price range.

What do guys think about girls that drive sports cars?

Alyssa

I've heard that guys think it's sexy when girls drive trucks.. but what do guys think about girls that drive sports cars? I drive an '06 deep red Hyundai Tiburon with tan leather interior.. it's not the fastest thing but it looks good and I look good driving it. Guys always stare, but I want to know what they are thinking! Like is it attractive? intimidating? do they think I'm high maintenance or a snob? I'm 20, btw. Thanks!

Answer
most guys are going to think high maintenance, a truck is a practical vehicle and their is nothing better than a good looking girl who is down to earth, but you see a girls who picks a car but cause she looks good behind the wheel and well high maintenance comes to mind. The only time it goes past that is when she is driving a classic like a hot girls in a 69 camero.

is the dodge magnum a considered a sports car?

Rene

23 years old, how much would I pay for insurance on a 2006?
Thanks!

Answer
Definately not a sports car but with the high power it might run you much more. A sports car is a smaller, 2 seats, high powered, great performer/handler. Even a Mustang really isn't a sports car with 4 seats.

Classic sports cars...?

Ryan

Hi I am looking to buy a classic sports car. The thing is though, i would like to drive said sports car on a daily basis without having to have it frequently repaired like an older Ferrari or Lamborghini. Do you have any suggestions, i would would appreciate any and all help/ suggestions.

Answer
If I was going to get a classic sports car, and I had the money to even think about a lambo or ferrari, I would get something american made for sure, like a corvette z-06 or the new zr1, or maybe a dodge viper. There is no other classic sports car like a corvette or mustang though. You can get a saleen, roushe, cobra, or 2000 cobra R "if you can find one" and to me they are the best looking "affordable" sports cars out right now.

American muscle/sports cars?

KolbeyJack

I am adamant against buying foreign cars.

But I'm looking for an affordable sports car for college, and thus far the Mustang is the only legitimatee option and it is still about 5000 out of my price range

What are some other american muscle/sports cars

My list so far
Mustang (Just barely to pricey, and the 99-2004 models looks queer)
Camero (LOL I'm poor)
Corvette (Not a fan + too expensive)
Challanger (hate it)
Charger (i know, it's a sedan, but a badass sedan)

Answer
You haven't named a single sports car or muscle car (though the Charger used to be one). Also, Camaro's are foreign cars. They're made in Canada.

Muscle cars are ONLY American, and they were only made from 1964 to 1972, midsize platform, 2 door, 4 seat coupe, rear wheel drive with the largest corporate displacement engines available. Some examples are:
Pontiac GTO
Ford Torino
Dodge Charger
Plymouth Roadrunner
Plymouth Super Bee
Plymouth Satellite
Dodge Coronet
Oldsmobile Cutlass 442
Buick Skylark GS
Pontiac Tempest

Some American sports cars? Uhhhh...Rare. A sports car is a lightweight, relatively low powered 2 seat, 2 door, rear wheel drive roadster (convertible).
Pontiac Fiero...Kind of.
C1 Corvette, none since are sports cars.
Pontiac Solstice
Saturn Sky.

Insurance for a teenager driving a sports car?

Michael Tr

I've been looking at cars since I'm almost out of high school and I'll finally be able to get my own car. I'm interested in the Infiniti G35 Coupe but I know that would be more expensive to insure than the sedan. My parents would be willing to make a deal where I pay the difference per month in insurance. Does anyone know how much more it would cost to insure over the sedan? Or any sports car for that matter.

Also if the car was put under my moms name, would the cost be less?
By the way i could care less if you think I should get the car or not. My question is simply how much the insurance will cost.

Answer
while keeping it on your parents PLAN will keep the cost down, you will be driving a sports car as a teenager, possibly the most expensive car to insure for someone your age. you will be the primary driver of the vehicle though, so it will be uber expensive as opposed to your parents being the primary driver.
now, they could list themselves as the primary driver, but, if you get into an accident or in any trouble, and the insurance company finds out, there gonna freak (like say you misled the insurance company and they could void your coverage, and youd be without a car and no way to cover yourself, the other drivers, and any expenses).
so, don't do that. put it under your own name. because if you get busted your f**ked

having said that, if your looking at getting a coupe vs a sedan.. coupe will be more expensive. however, insurance companies take in so many factors when it comes to what your gonna be charged for insurance, its not even possible to guess a price difference.

my guess though: your folks are obviously wealthy (because who in their right mind would buy their kid a infinit coupe as their first car?!), but im not hating on that fact. my folks were, and they bought me my first car, and im soo grateful for it. there was no way i could afford a car, and they wanted me driving something safe and decent. they bought it, i paid for up-keep and insurance. that was fair to me! were not all spoiled brats!

bottom line is the difference in pricing for a coupe vs. sedan will definitely be affordable to you and your family so don't worry about it. if your folks are willing to lay out the cash for the car, then insurance shouldn't concern you. my first car was a two year old ford explorer and it cost me a buncha cash to insure it, but, it was worth it because i still have it (8 years and 160,000 miles later, working like a charm).

Car Insurance?

MicroNap

I am planning to buy a used 1992 Honda Prelude for $2,700.00. How does the insurance work? Does the price of the car that I paid or the retail price, plays as a factor of how much I would have to pay monthly for insurance. What insurance company would be the best for a new driver with her G2 only? Does anybody have an idea of how much it will cost me (approximately monthly) for the insurance? What other fees or cost will I have to pay for?

Answer
Insurance cost depends on a LOT of factors, which includes but may NOT be limited to:

* make, model, trim, and year of car
* optional equipment in the car (ABS, traction control, etc.)
* theft deterrent equipment in car (alarm, Lojack, etc.)
* other equipment in car (fire extinguisher, emergency kit, etc.)
* location where it is stored
* mileage driven per month
* where you drive to and from
* your age
* your driving record
* your gender
* your profession / job
* amount of coverage you are buying
* type of coverage your are buying
* and more

You should get quotes from as many companies as possible.

Honda Prelude is considered a 2-door sports coupe, so insurance will be higher than, say a Ford Taurus GL of same year.

Contact a local agent. I personally went with AllState and my agent was quite helpful. Others deal direct with companies like 21st Century, GEICO, Progressive, and so on. It's all up to you. Just make sure you compare the same coverage across different companies.

Is Porsche moving towards making GTs and away from traditional "Sports Cars" such as the mis-named GT3?

guyin559

Soon Porsche will introduce a four door car to further expand its line. They already have the Cayenne SUV, and have according to recent tests "softened" the standard Carrera and Turbo models. Do these actions, along with prices that are creeping closer to "exotic" car levels show that Porsche is moving away from their traditional "enthusiast" clientel and aiming for the Grand Touring market?
there is nothing "Grand Touring/GT" about the GT3. It is as much a tourer as was the similarly mis-named GT-40.

And yes..Porsche has always made luxurious machines...but in the past they would have never compromised performance for driveability, except for the 928..which was never really accepted by the majority of Porschefiles anyway.

By "soft" I do not mean the suspension...I mean "Soft" as in focus...as in the latest 911 turbos handling being widely panned by the motoring press.

Answer
I think you need to look at this in historical perspective. First, Porsche has always produced GT cars. While we look at something the the 356 as spartan today, the fact is that in it's day, it was a luxury sportscar. Likewise, look no further than the 934 for a supposed race car, although one that came with power windows and a full leather interior (when introduced in the early 1970s). The current offerings reflect the same trends.

As far as expanding the line, again, look back at the company's history. You are talking about a "sports car" company that has made a tractor, came close to producing sedans back in the 1960s (if not for the failure of planned business partners), and has always justified it's large engineering department by doing design work for other companies. Porsche was planned as a car company, and was merely a sports car company to start as that's what was able to be produced and marketed at the time. If anything, expansion of the line is a return to the original intent, and not a departure from it.

As for price. yes price's have gone up. However, if you look at relative price in terms of what can be purchased, you'll find there has not been anywhere near the variation that you seem to think. If you look at the current buying power of a dollar and compare, you'd find that a 1980 911SC would cost a little over $90k. And considering trade differences in the US economy verses Europe, it could easily be argued that Porsches are less expensive today than 20 years ago!

While I hold great affection for many of the classic Porsches, and spend much more time behind the wheel on these cars, the fact is the newer cars are by far the fastest and most capable sports cars they've yet to produce. The current GT3 is the most best track car the factory has ever delivered (unless you look at the GT3RS).

The company has evolved, and will continue to evolve. But everything that made a Porsche special then is still pretty much there today, even if many of the specifics have changed.

EDIT: Grand Turismo/GT - as the name itself has a few different meanings, it's hard to say it's a misnomer. On on hand you have a GT car meaning a sports car that is a little more luxury car at the expense of being a more pure sports car. On the other hand, you have GT meaning a street car that is used to homogulate a car for use in GT Class racing, which is just the opposite of the other meaning. The GT3 is named for the later (as was the original GT40, which was introduced to compete at Le Mans in the late 1960s after Ford was spurned in their efforts to buy Ferrari).

Having sampled quite a few Porsches over the years at track events, I cannot say I see how drivability has been sacraficed. The current cars are more pliable and faster in EVERY aspect than the earlier cars. I have a personal fondness for the earlier cars, and greatly enjoy the extra skill it requires to drive them at the limit. But there is no denying that the new cars are superior in every aspect of performance (the new turbo included).

Why is it just now that we're finally catching up to the car performance of the 1950s- early 1970s?

Bay

We have luxury cars that have anywhere from 300-400 horsepower. We have passenger coupes with 400+ horsepower and we have sports cars with similar stats. Wait, what's that? You're saying we've been here before and that it's stupid to be bragging about this? Ohhhh that's right. WE HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE. In fact we were there in the late 50s to early 70s. My 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville is rated at 340 Horsepower. This more than the modern Cadillac DTS and due to all that superfluous electronic equipment and airbag related crap it weighs about the same. My Cadillac also more torque than a Modern day Corvette or Dodge Viper at an astronomical 480 lb/ft.
This is not even the most powerful Cadillac engine of all time the 400 horsepower 550 lb/ft torque monster the Cadillac 500. No modern day engine has anywhere near that torque rating.

The Impala SS of the time? Don't even try contending. It's high end engine the 427 had over 425 horsepower. More than the BMW 5 series and probably had a much better torque rating.

Near the end of the corvettes Full power I believe it was near to cracking 500 horsepower, stock. Only recently has only the highest end corvette begun to crack that level of raw power.

This is only the performance related part of the comparison. The amount of plastic in modern cars is around 250+ pounds not including the body panels. (yes, no more metal for us modern folks).
Cars of the 50s 60s and early 70s had virtually no plastic. It was all metal, leather, and chrome. QUALITY MATERIALS NOT SHITTY RICER PLASTIC. The fan in my 1964 Cadillac is METAL NOT PLASTIC LIKE THE NEW CARS. The bumpers on my Car? CHROME, HARD, STRONG, LONG LASTING CHROME. If I hit a car I will have a little scuff while your entire front end or rear end will collapse in. (I've seen it happen before. Someone hit my Cadillac). I came out alright while the person in the plastic ricer needed to go into the emergency room. I thought I had a hit a pot hole. Hilarious. Also, I like my interiors to be exciting and revolutionary. Not bland enough to fall asleep to. I'd like to keep my soul thanks.

And styling? Enough said. I like to eat Jelly Beans, not drive them. I'll keep my originality thanks.

Many topics including leg room, trunk space, ease to work on, reliability, and FAR cheaper repairs have not been touched on because I know they are self explanatory. And although I know you'll ***** about things like Fuel Efficiency and smog/emissions. Let me just say at least my car doesn't have a Hybrid battery that does far more damage to the environment than my car did in 46 years and 86000 miles. And safety? How is thick sheet SteeL and a thick steel frame, not plastic, STEEL not safety? I didn't know plastic is stronger than steel. Gosh. I guess its safe to leave loaded guns in the corner of day care centers now to.

I guess your so called "superior" jelly bean cars aren't after all. Japan killed what it meant to be a real car.
Plastic and tiny 4 cylinders is sporty? Btw my Cadillac can smoke a ricer any day of the week.
its not even a v4 you tool its an inline 4.

Answer
Japan killed the real car? The Lexus LFA begs to differ, my friend. The Toyota Supra begs to differ. The Acura NSX begs to differ. Japan REINVENTED THE CAR. American cars use to have such big engines because they were solid Detroit rolling iron, solid metal. Japan started making lighter, faster, speedier cars. A car could have a 2 liter v4 and feel sportier than a Caddy with a v8. Japan has such a following in the street racing world. I guess it must be because...they killed what it meant to be a real car.

Sit the fuck down.

You. Could. Not. Smoke. My. Car.
Period.
Lexus IS350.
No seriously.
It would not happen.
I've beaten Corvettes.

And I also own a classic car man, 64 Impala coupe. So don't think i'm just some ricer fanboy. There is a difference between a Japanese Performance car and a ricer. Hint: Accords and Civics are not performance cars.

What's the point in stealing a sports car in GTA 4 when you can go to the sports car dealerships?

YEah i just found one called Grotti that sells all the Turismos. I think the turismo is better than the infernus because it's overall better because it handles better and it's fast like a ferrari. and it is more common to steal. th infernus is like a Lamborghini becasue it's fast and can't turn easily. so i say turismo is 2nd best with sultran rs a #1.

I don't even steal a lot of sport cars off the street i just go to the dealership that sells grottis and steal those

Answer

What is a good luxury car under $10,000 USD?

cesar

Well i finally saved up about 10k for a car, now i don't know what car i should get. I want a luxury car or at least a car that stands out, what car would be reliable in terms of not breaking down easily and the repairs not making me go broke. Also, im a student and under 21, so insurance would need to be average or low ( around 120 or less a month) i have no tickets, clean record, any idea's what car i should get?

Answer
german luxury sedans (audi a4, BMW 3 series and Mercedes C class) all go down in price dramatically this means that you can get a fairly good car for 10,000. cars with cheap repairs need to be very common so that mechanic shops can afford to buy their parts and tools. when we look at the distribution of cars we know that there are a lot less luxury cars than regular cars on the road meaning that repairs are more expensive. now lets look at the issue of insurance. if someone gave you money so that if they ever get in an accident you can help them out even if they can't afford to and they drove an expensive car wouldn't you demand more money to help cover costs if they crash? you are trying to get too much out of this situation an 1993 nissan 240 for me (19 year old driver clean record) is around 400/month. forget about a luxury car for now and go with something cheap because a luxury car will not be possible. having a car at your age is cool enough it doesn't need to be luxurious or need to stand out.

Cars for Teenagers under 10k?

Like my Na

I'm going to be getting my license soon and I'm going to need a car.

My parents said I can't go over 10k because it's only my first car.

But what are some nice cars that get good gas mileage?

I'm trying to stay with newer cars ( '05 and Newer ) I could make an exception for some '04s.

I'm staying away from Trucks and Minivans. And SUVs tend to be more expensive and get bad gas.

So yeah...what are some cars under 10k for a 17 year old?
I'm not buying a car off of Craig's List

I'm asking for some cars that would be good for a 17 year old. Meaning name a car that gets good gas mileage and yeah...

Answer
You're not getting anything good for under $10K thats 2-3 years old. I'd say look at something like a 02 Mustang GT, 01-03 Acura CL Type-S, 03 Acura RSX, or a 01 or so Nissan Maxima/Altima. All of those cars look good(or at least don't look bad), get decent gas mileage, have good performance, and can have some luxury features.

Well what do you guys suggest?

Answer
Hi Ryan,
There is lots to do in Las Vegas besides the casinos.

Visit Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. At Lake Mead, you can scuba dive into a real sunken town, ride a paddle wheel boat or take in the sun. There are water sports, boating, fishing, marinas and ferries.

The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park, informally known as the Las Vegas Zoo, has three acres and 150 species of plants and animals. The park includes a small gem exhibit and a gift shop. Exotic chickens and peacocks roam freely on the grounds.

Lehman Caves is a set of remarkable limestone caverns in Great Basin National Park near Las Vegas. Daily vacation tours are available all year.

Shopping is part of a Las Vegas vacation, too. At Planet Hollywood you'll find the Miracle Mile Shops. Across the street, the Forum Shops at Caesars offer lots of top-tier brand name stores. Around the Venetian canals are shops, and nearby is Barney's New york and Palazzo. Fashion Show Mall is across from Wynn Las Vegas.

Bonanza Gift Shop is a landmark located on the Las Vegas Strip between the Sahara Hotel and Casino and the Stratosphere Las Vegas. It calls itself the World's Largest Gift Shop with over 40,000 sq.ft. of space.

GameWorks, the famous entertainment chain, is a giant arcade with 250 interactive video games including pool, sports and dances. GameWorks entertainment complex is in the Showcase mall next to MGM Grand.

Pole Position Raceway lets you race miniature electric cars competitively on an indoor track.

At Las Vegas Motor Speedway you can drive a real 600-horsepower stock car at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, or ride shotgun with a professional driver.

Take a ride to the Valley of Fire, 50 miles NE of Vegas, a breathtaking natural wonder and state park. The Valley of Fire is world renowned for its beautiful rock formations and red sand. You can rent a dune buggy, take a guided buggy tour, go by helicopter, or hike. It is also one of the top off-road riding areas in the United States. Trekkies will recognize many of the early Star Trek sets here.

Indoor sky diving sounds impossible, but not in las Vegas. On Convention Center Drive, Vegas Indoor Skydiving lets you feel what it is like to float, hover and fly in a stream of air. Instruction and guides are available. You might have seen this on TV.

Las Vegas Springs Preserve has desert gardens, hiking trails, live desert animals, and experiences of the people, animals and culture of the Mohave Desert. The Nevada State Museum is on site.

Red Rock Canyon is a spectacular natural vista.

Las Vegas hosts the popular annual Helldorado Days, or Rodeo Days, a cowboy festival, parade, carnival and a professional rodeo.

Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, built by early Mormons in 1855, has been restored in Downtown.

The Atomic Testing Museum tells the history of nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site. There are testing devices and pop culture from the period. In the Ground Zero Theater you can watch a simulated nuclear test.

The Liberace Museum is 5 minutes east of McCarran Airport, with souvenirs of the piano genius celebrity.

The Pinball Hall of Fame has over 100 working and playable pinball machines, and historical exhibits.

During the winter months, there's skiing at Mt. Charleston.

I hope you have a very happy day.
My source has lots more about Las Vegas.

Renting sports cars in the UK and USA. Do you have any experience?

Martin the

There is a lot of rentals in Las Vegas, but I expect not much fun as you have to obey the police rules. Then you have Britain, where are companies offering Lambos, Ferraris, Aston Martins etc. directly on a circuit. How come? You can simply destroy the car. Who pays then ?

Answer
they have companies just like that here in the USA. But with all those super car renting companies, you got to first down a huge collateral payment just in case you wreck one of the cars.

Luxury cars that dont require premium gas?

Anthony

I have about 13500-14000 to spend and im wondering what luxury cars don't require premium. Cars like Mercedes, Cadillac, bmw, audi, infiniti, etc. If you maybe know a specific model or something that runs on regular, please inform me, many thanks! God bless.

Answer
Buying premium gas is like taking vitamins, you can't always feel the difference and yet you know it's the right thing to do. But as gas prices climb, paying the extra dime per gallon for premium is like adding insult to injury. Eventually, the thought is bound to jump into your head.... "Do I really need to pop for premium?" The key is to figure out whether premium gasoline is "required" or "recommended." If it is recommended then a driver could opt to use a lower grade of gas, if they were willing to accept slightly reduced performance and fuel economy. Most if not all luxury cars require premium gas. Luxury manufacturers like Audi, Lexus, BMW, Infiniti & Mercedes Benz require the highest octane possible for optimum performance. Most of these cars are luxury performance vehicles and they need to be taken care of properly. But not all of them do, for example the 2008 + Mercedes Benz C300 is designed as a flexible fuel vehicle. However that is not to say that every person who owns a luxury car uses Premium gas cause quite frankly I know a lot of people who drive a luxury car that requires premium gas and instead they use Mid Grade fuel. I have used Mid grade in my BMW at times and the car runs great!! However I would not go as far as putting regular gas in a luxury sports car. Mid Grade wont affect your car in any negative way from my experience, if anything the difference will be minimal or even unnoticeable but Premium fuel without a doubt is cleaner and allows the vehicle to operate as designed not to mention much smoother and it will consume fuel more efficiently. Adding regular fuel to a car that requires premium fuel will have consequences such as the knocking of the engine, poor fuel economy, throttle lag, decrease in horsepower and over all a decrease in performance. Engine problems are costly and far outweigh the small savings at the pump offered by regular gasoline.

However to directly answer your question, some cars that can run on regular unleaded fuel or are flexible on fuel consumption are the following vehicles:

2009 Lincoln MKS:
The 2009 model of Lincoln MKS, a full-size luxury sedan by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company, runs on regular unleaded fuel.

Cadillac CTS:
A mid-sized luxury car, the Cadillac CTS is manufactured by General Motors under its Cadillac marque. It was designed to run on regular unleaded fuel.

Mercedes Benz C-Class (C300) Luxury Sedan:
Beginning with the 2008 model, the C-Class C300 Luxury Sedan by Mercedes-Benz was designed as a flexible fuel vehicle with a multi-point injection fuel system. Thus, it does not use premium fuel but the cheaper regular unleaded gasoline incorporated with ethanol.

what could happen if i use regular gas in a luxury car, which requires premium gas? ?

Sam P

Answer
A black hole will form inside the engine bay of your car, swallowing the entire Earth and ending life as we know it....LOL.

Modern engines have a knock sensor which is read by the ECU and if the ECU detects knock, it scales back timing and adjusts other run parameters to assure that no damage is done to the engine by running it on lower octane regular unleaded fuel, even if it's designed to run on premium.

You won't make quite as much peak HP running it on regular if it's designed to run on premium, but other than that you shouldn't have any trouble. Don't sweat it.

What's the diff between an Infiniti G35 vs G35x? & Accord EX vs EXL?

lester

I'm getting confused. What's the difference? Are they basically the same or does one offer better features than the other?

Answer
The Infiniti G35 is a entry-level luxury car/mid-size car produced by Nissan's Infiniti division. It is known as the Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan and is available in sedan and coupe forms.

The G35x, has the advantage of all-wheel drive, but it also has that feature's disadvantage: an additional 308 pounds of response-robbing weight.

The USDM Accord was given a new level of refinement with chrome interior accents and higher grade materials. The lineup still included the seemingly de-facto DX, LX, EX, LX-V6 and EX-V6. Mechanically, the 4-cylinder engine was the new K-series, and the 6-cylinder was the same J-series V6 as the sixth generation's, but revisions to the intake and exhaust contributed to a 40 hp (30 kW) increase. One of these revisions was that the exhaust manifolds became part of the cylinder head casting. A 5-speed automatic transmission was also new for 2003. Now a vastly different car to the worldwide Accord, the North American model grew larger still, gaining more interior room and weight than its international counterpart. Honda sold the North American Accord in a few other markets including Asian (now made in Thailand), Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Australian and New Zealand markets with mixed results. For the first time, Honda offered an "enthusiast" version of the Accord in the US, adding a sports suspension and mating the 6-speed manual transmission from the Acura CL to the V6 Honda Accord Coupe. A specific 4-cylinder model is the first production car in the world to meet California's Super Ultra Low Emission standards. The 2003 model year also debuted Honda's GPS assisted Navigation system as an option for the Accord. Prior to 2003, it was only available on the higher end Acura line as well as the Honda Odyssey. The first 2003 Honda Accord rolled off the Marysville, OH assembly line on September 26, 2002.

In 2004 Honda announced that they would release a hybrid version of the USDM Accord called the Honda Accord Hybrid featuring Honda's IMA technology. In 2004 Honda also first offered XM Satellite Radio as a factory installed option.

For 2005, the Accord received minor updates such as revised taillights (all red) and new wheel designs. The Accord became Canada's top-selling mid-size car, and this was the first model year of the Accord Hybrid.

For its 2006 model year, the Accord received several new improvements. This was motivated on the Accord's 30th anniversary. Some enthusiasts argue that the 2006 model year should be called generation 7.5,[citation needed] and the Accord gives it reminiscence to its competitors for 2006 (e.g. Chevrolet Impala and Hyundai Sonata). The exterior was revised with new rear end styling (most noticeably for the sedan), LED taillights, daytime running lights (DRLs) and heated side mirrors for US EX models.

What would you think of the USA switching which side of the road it drives on?

Twindle

i want to know what all you people out there think about this as Samoa just recently showed that it's possible to get it done successful so why not the USA right i mean it's safe to drive on the left side of the road and it would allow the development of imported cars and help out the carrabein islands that drive on the left and we even have the US virgin islands also drives on the left so why don't we? and i know some will say because Mexico and Canada but if we switch then they would most diffidently switch with us considering that a large group of are imported cars come from there and if they are RHD vehicles why not just make the roads switch there? also a lot of are car companies like Honda and Hyundai and Toyota build a lot of there cars in japan and japan drives on the left and have RHD vehicles. so i would like to know your answers just not anything rude mean or saying your gay or your retarded please thanks.

Answer
I have been to the Bahamas in the Caribbean, for two weeks. All cars are left hand drive, though you are driving on the left side of the road instead of on the right as would normally be. It was difficult to adjust to for the first couple of days, always telling my self to keep to the left. After a 2 days I got the hang of it.

There a very few roads in the Bahamas, cars are a luxury.
Driving to one side of the Island and the other takes a short time, and not many people there have cars. There are mostly boats, since the island is surrounded by water.
It would be difficult if not impossible in large cities like NYC to suddenly change the direction on which to drive.

Majority of countries in the world have vehicles with the steering wheel on the left. It could also be that most people are right handed.

Someone that is right handed may find switching to right hand drive a problem. Those who are left handed may find it easy. I am right handed and have no trouble to drive right hand drive with manual transmission.

If the roads where changed to the left side instead of on the right, then driving a vehicle with right hand drive would be easier. Everything is the same as left hand drive, except the turn signal is on the right side and the wipers are on the left side of the steering column.

Here in Canada there are people who import cars from New Zealand, Japan, etc...
The vehicle has to be at least 15 years old and go through a B.C. Inspection. Import and duty fees are high. Insurance is higher as well.
A vehicle made in Japan will not have parts available in U.S. Need to import parts from Japan which cost a fortune. Even if the car looks the same, the engine may be different, as well as steering linkage, brakes, etc...

Vehicle Manufacturers like Honda and Toyota do build cars in Japan since they are a Japan based company. For the U.S. there are factories in the States that built there cars, built to U.S. regulations, such as larger bumpers, different headlights and so on.

There are some vehicles in Japan that have left hand drive. All European cars have left hand drive, except ones in England. If you were to see a Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, etc... in Japan, they are made in Europe and sent to Japan. It's alot cheaper than converting it to right hand drive.

Every country is different and has there own rules and regulations.
There is no changing that.
