I want to be a photographer but i need a place to take my pictures of other people where can i go to take them that have different backgrounds and lights and stuff

Answer
1. San Jacinto Battleground and the Battleship Texas: These two Texas monuments are located right next to each other and are great places for experiencing Texas history and getting some fun pictures. (Located East of Downtown Houston)

2. Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens: This is a local favorite with photographers. There are beautiful paths and gardens located in the park. The gardens change based on the time year and season. This is a great place to hike and/or bike with the family and a great place to shoot pictures for special lifetime moments. (located north of Downtown Houston, near Spring)

3. Space Center Houston: Where else can you go and take pictures next to real rocket ships and see how NASA works. There are loads of opportunities for great pics here. Here's a hint, be sure to go through the museum and the tour of the grounds. The museum is usually accessed after viewing a short film, but you can bypass the film and enter the museum through the backdoor behind the kids climbing tower on the right as you enter the building. (Located South of Downtown Houston)

4. The Oil Ranch: This is a unique place for you to visit with children. They have many different activities that the family can participate in and have fun taking pictures doing. (Located Northwest of Downtown Houston)

5. The Woodlands Waterway: This area is newly built and really a great place to visit. You can take a water taxi, or visit one of the many offerings along the Waterway. (Located North of Downtown Houston in The Woodlands)

6. Bayou Bend Home and Grounds: This is a favorite location for wedding photographers. The grounds are beautiful and you can make arrangements to tour the home as well. (Located near Memorial Park, west of Downtown Houston)

7. Kemah Boardwalk: This is a great location for pictures. They have multiple restaurants, amusement park rides and a great splash/water play area. (South of Downtown Houston, very close to Spacecenter Houston)

8. Texas Renaissance Festival: This is coming up very soon and is a great place to capture people in costume. It is also a great place to take your kids in costume and get some fun pictures. You will meet lots of fun characters and the entire location is very pretty and can provide a great backdrop for your pictures. (Located in Planterville, TX, North of Downtown Houston)

9. Jesse H. Jones Park: This park located behind Kenswick in Northeast Houston is a gem of a park. There are some great play structures and then some fun walking paths created through the park. (Located in Northeast Houston, near Humble)

10. Bear Creek Park: This park has many different amenities for families. Whether you are looking for a playground with swings, large fields for playing sports, or just looking for a place to picnic. This is location is great. (Located West of Downtown Houston)

11. Mary Jo Peckham Park: This park has a really nice assortment of activities for the family. There is a nice little scenic lake with a path, putt putt golf and some assorted playground equipment located at this park. (Located in Katy, TX)

12. The Art Car Museum: This location offers you something a little different. Just like the Art Car Parade, this Museum is not your typical place. Each car displayed is unique and fun. This provides a great backdrop for some great pictures.

13. The Houston Zoo: It's such a fun outing to visit the zoo. There are so many great animals and this is great place for family pictures.

14. Hermann Park: This place is located right next to The Houston Zoo and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. There is fun playground equipment, a train and the lake is also a great place for pictures.

How much is insurance if...?

Q. I am 16, female and driving a sports car [[camaro]]?

please give an average for texas and several different companys!

Answer
Very expensive. There are 4 factors that determine premium.

-Age
-Driving record
-City/State
-Type of car (4 door sedan, sports car, etc.)

The price for car insurance reduces significantly at 21 for females (25 for men). So under that age, rates will be high due to lack of experience driving.

If you have had accidents or tickets, of course, your rate will be higher because you are a higher risk.

City/state play a part because if you live in a rural/country area vs. a big city, your car is at less risk. Best example, it is more likely for your car to get broken into or crashed in Houston, TX than it is in Smithville, TX.

Lastly, the type of car drive effects the rate on several levels. I will use examples because it seems easier to describe. If you drive a 4 door Chevy Cobalt vs. a 2 door Chevy Camaro, the Cobalt is a lower risk. The Camaro has a bigger engine and is used more frequently in racing scenes than the Cobalt, hence higher risk which equals higher premium. Now since you drive a Camaro lets also do this. We already know the premium is high on a sports car. Theres a difference in price (slightly) if you drive a basic model Camaro or a nicer one like the Camaro SS. The SS has a higher premium because the more powerful engine and more expensive features equating to a HIGHER RISK.

So, in a nutshell, your premium will be well over $200 if you need "full" coverage. Go to statefarm.com and get a quote.

I tried to explain this as simple as possible...if you have any questions, email me.

I am confused in buying a honda pilot or a pajero 2008. Can anybody advice me on this?

I need an SUV, with a good drive, speed, luxury, all modern features and on the top of this, cheap and have a good resale value. I am thinkingto buy a pajero 3.8 L 2008 in riyadh.

Answer
Neither. Buy an American car.

And also, no such thing as a cheap luxury SUV with all modern features exists. It's either cheap or luxury, but you can't have both.

how reliable are the Mazda cars?

dean i

I am planning to buy a Mazda CX-9, but I hear from different people that those are not reliable and the engine will crash @ 100,000 miles and they do not have any resale value. How true it is? I would like to hear from people using Mazda as well as Experts.

Answer
The Mazda CX-9 was named Motor Trend's 2008 SUV of the Year. It competed against several other very good SUVs such as the Buick Enclave, Hyundai Veracruz, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Land Cruiser and Subaru Tribeca. The panel of 12 judges unanimously agreed that the Mazda CX-9 was the winner!

Motor Trend subjects all of their "Car/Truck/SUV of the Year" winners to a Long-Term Test including the Mazda CX-9. In 15 months, they put 38,000 miles on it and didn't have a single problem or failure of any kind. In closing their report, they said, "The more we drive it, the more we love it!"

Car & Driver also subjected a 2008 CX-9 to a Long-Term Road Test. They covered 40,080 miles in less than 14 months. At the end of the test, they said, "We ended up utterly infatuated with the crossoverâs blend of performance, driving pleasure, comfort, style, and luxury. It looked rich and classy inside and out and every mile turned was a happy one!"

Consumer Reports gives the Mazda CX-9 their "Recommended" rating (which is a designation it shares with the Honda Pilot, Ford Flex and Chevy Traverse). The CX-9 actually scored higher than the Pilot overall and tied with the Flex in the overall rating. The CX-9 is also expected to be at least 16% above average in terms of overall reliability.

****All the evidence, from experts as well as owners on several different sites such as Edmunds.com, TrueDelta.com and Consumer Reports, indicates that the CX-9 is a well-built, reliable and durable SUV. A small percentage of early production 2007 models had very minor issues such as the silver finish peeling or flaking off of door or console trim panels. That's as bad as the reports get and 2008 and newer models aren't having any issues at all.

The person(s) who told you that the engine will blow at 100,000 miles is either misinformed, delusional or full of B.S. and telling lies! The 3.7L MZI V6 in the CX-9 and the Ford Duratec 37 which is currently used in the Lincoln MKS and MKT. Ford has also developed a version of the Duratec 37 with a system they call 'Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing' (Ti-VCT) which puts out 305hp under the hood of the 2011 Mustang and will also show up in the 2011 F150 pickup. The only difference between the Mazda and Ford version of the 3.7L V6 is where they're built- the CX-9's at Mazda's Hirosima Engine Plant and the Ford versions at the Lima, Ohio Ford Engine Plant.

Compared to California and New Jersey: Is Texas a primitive state?

I mean does Texas lack the luxuries found in Cali and NYC?

Does the level of education in Texas match that of these states?

Do the people dress well in Texas?

Please explain...

Answer
It depends on what part of Texas one is in. Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio each have a lot of museums, arts venues, etc... Dallas and Austin are wealthier and more liberal. The basic stereotype for women is true...big hair and big boobs. At one time Dallas was the plastic surgery capital of the world, (more plastic surgery performed here than anywhere else). Dallas is about prestige and living large....large homes, luxury cars, designer clothing...whether one can afford it or not.

Addison, Tx a close in suburb of Dallas has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the country.

The shopping here is unbelieveable...mall after mall after mall. People in the cities do dress well.

Education level I am sure is the same as most other states...of couse we have big schools like UT/Austin, but, we also have prestige schools like SMU/Dallas.

However, when you go to the far out suburbs and small towns, you do find the Bubba mentality....the mullets on guys, women with 1980's mall hair and shoulder pads...and rusted out pickups with shotguns hanging in the rear window. But, this is really no different from small towns in other states.

Texas, and Dallas in general is a melting pot of the U.S. Because of the tax benefits, (no state income tax), many companies have relocated their headquarters here. So, it is hard to find people in Dallas that are natives to the area. Most of us have transferred from other states. We of course bring our cultures with us, and so the face of Dallas has changed considerably in the past 50 years. Even the Texas drawl is not nearly as prevelant as it was just 20 years ago.

what do you think would be a good first car?

it has to have 4WD and be under $30000

i don't care if its new or used, but it has to be safe!

:D

thanks!
haha i love pink!
then AWD...
my parents also would prefer to get me an Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc.

i don't really care though
yes i'm american
i live in the untied states too!

Answer
personally, i think 30 grand is a bit much for a first time car...but its what ever floats ur boat...if ur a teen driver go for something less since ur parents would be paying the insurance and anything the car needs in repairs and tune ups...which by the way is a lottttt of money...if ur a grown woman, go for any really since 30 thousand is in ur budget, test drive them all and see which one u like the feel for best...everyone has a preference on what they like in a car...u know comfort levels, u might not want a car that rolls back too much on a steep hill, or u might want a car that has a very visible wide back windshield...etc...i think safety is important, but i think how u feel driving it also determines how safe u are lol(and for god sakes dont talk on your phone while u drive if you have to use one hand for that, its a fact that when you multi task your concentration level drops quite a bit for every task ur doing, and when it comes to driving and safety, u know the rest)...
don't get bright colors as those are usually pegged by police to watch more thant the others lol...
blue i hear will be the new "in" color for a car for the next few years.
the safest cars there are are under 30 thousand...
ford taurus limited 2008, 2008 honda accord ex-l, 2008 ford taurus x-sel, honda crv ex, 2008 audi A3, audi A6, bmw x3 (about 9,000 over new), bmw x5 (17,000 over ur budget new) , hyundai veracruz, Saab 9-3, mercedes m class ( 17,000 over at new), etc (i left out trucks and vans lol)
just because its more expensive and a luxury brand, doesn't mean its safer.
I mean all you need to do is check lists on consumer reports and IIHS reports for this year to figure out what car is the safest...a lot of cars now will come optional for awd, especially if its midsized-large or an suv...most trucks come in awd.

Cadillac escalade for under 30000?

lal l

Hi, Im going to buy a car soon and my current budget is 30000, and I was wondering, should i buy a used 2004 cadillac escalade with DVD system, an infinti G35, a 350 Z, or a 300C. Im a fan of both speed and luxury, but I cannot really decide between the four. I also like good audio systems with high base. Im more appealed to the Escalade but I still am scared to buy a used car. Please tell me which of the four is the best for the money

Answer
For $30K I'd look into a Mercedes S or E class, certainly the Escalade, some 2004/5 models are actually selling for $24K because they aren't very popular right now with the high gas prices.

Maybe a late model Jaguar XJR if you're looking for serious power and speed, that along with the S 600 V-12. You can buy a lot of used car for $30K right now. Don't be afraid to have a mechanic you trust give the car the once over and ask as many questions about it as you wish. Good luck and happy motoring.

P.S. lean toward the all wheel drive Escalade.
