Where can I rent a luxury or exotic car in or near Atlanta?

Q. I want to rent a convertible in the Norcross area. All of the companies I've found online have disconnected or wrong numbers (Have they all gone bankrupt or something??) Is there anybody local (I am way out of the region) that can give me a clue?
I already tried Atlanta Dream Cars. Their number is disconnected and they don't respond to email.

Car Rentals?

Q. Is there any car rentals that rent cars from age group 20yrs?
Leaving for Atlanta in 2weeks, & looking to suprise my boyfriend on a weekend trip to Miami & would need a car to get around but rental sites i have look at so far states that car renters have to be 25+
I'll be renting the car from Miami.
We'l be flying there so i'm guessing we'l pick up the car from the airport.

buying a used Luxury SUV vrs a car that gets good gas mileage?

Keri Lea

If I can get a better deal on an SUV right now say 8000 dollars less than its value right now is it better than buying a new car that gets good gas mileage?

Answer
If the SUV gets 20 mpg and the car gets 30 mpg then that's 30% extra. So it'll be like $2000 of gas vs $3000 in gas. So the rate of return is like 8 years with your numbers. Not counting depreciation or cost of insurance or cost of maintenance.

What luxury cars get great gas mileage?

Ara

Looking for 2010, 2011 or 2012 luxury car for around 30,000 with close to 40 mpg. My wife and I don't want to settle for a Prius or Civic, but we do want good MPG because we drive so much. Is this possible without spending too much more?

Answer
If you take a closer look at the Prius, you'll see that you aren't "settling". It has many of features only found in luxury cars. It's a mid-sized car, not a compact like the Civic, so room is not a problem.

Note that decent luxury cars start at about $45,000.

My 2004 Prius has cost 12 cents per mile for dealer maintenance, tires, and fuel combined over the 120,000 trouble-free miles I've driven it so far.

My 2004 Prius MPG from the logbook. (Complete years only):
2003-2004 -- 50.8 mpg 17,628 miles
2005 -- 52.6 mpg 14,688 miles
2006 -- 56.3 mpg 16174 miles
2007 -- 57.3 mpg 18384 miles
2008 -- 59.9 mpg 21755 miles
2009 -- 61.4 mpg 16177 miles
2010 -- 65.2 mpg 12134 miles

What's your favorite sports car?

bballlover

What's your favorite kind of car? I'm looking to upgrade my car, I'm 17. I can spend at the most around $7,000. So far I like RX8's. I need ideas on what to buy. Most things don't matter but I do need a 4 seater. Let me know! Thanks!

Answer
A TRUE Sports Car would be a 2-seater, usually with a removable top. Anything with 4 seats would be a sports coupe or sports sedan.

My favorite Sports Car has always been the Chevy Corvette, but those are a bit out of your price range, and even if you could find one, the cost of insurance for a 17 year old driver would kill you..

There's lots of nice, used cars out there for around $7000. I'd suggest you get away from your computer and spend some time checking out the local used car lots to see what's out there.

looking for a cheap used sports car?

aquadancer

im looking for a nice sports car, lamborghini look-alikes, or anything that is kind of like that. something verry cheap, around 5000 or less

Answer
You want a cheap sports car? You're better off looking for conversion kits. You won't find a Lambo type car for the price range you're looking for. Not unless you find a junker that will cost more to fix than the car is worth.

I've seen people change a Fiaro into a Ferrari. Of course the change was cosmetic, but there is a lot you can do to change the guts of your car. Research kits for different car types and then look at what parts on the kit car that can be upgraded to make the car put out some serious horsepower.

You will find that that speed is very achievable with many cars that can be kitted. Look at tuner cars. An early nineties model Civic can be upgraded to go over 140MPH.

To answer your question, good luck on finding that exotic sports car for the price you're willing to pay.....unless you want a junked out servicable Porche. Many people sell those things for lower end prices.

Help buying "semi" hi end, luxury utility?

Dr. TR

So my mom is thinking of getting a new car. IF you read my first question, she was thinking about a sedan. However, if at all, she's thinking about the Audi Q7 or the Volvo XC90...volvo has a great deal on maintenance until the end of june. Anyway, she wants the best she can get for the price, but not over $48,000. I said either or, they're both nice cars.

Answer
They're both excellent. She should look at the Lexus which is the king ( queen?) of mid-luxury SUVs. She can get a Hybrid for that price.

baltimore to new york car or train which is faster?

Color Me C

im going to Flushing, Queens, New York, NY and i wonder if i should take the amtrak in Baltimore or just drive non stop from Frederick. plus how much are tickets is there a long line or wait anything else that will hold me up?

Answer
1) For amtrak, reservations are required on all trains. Discount tickets must be purchased at least 14 days before departure. If not, you will pay full price. The price varies dependning on when you are booking, so you should check out amtrak.com and sample some dates. Just to give you an idea, your fare may vary from as low as about $45 to as high as $100 or more, each way.

2) If you were going directly from Baltimore to NYC then Amtrak would be definitely faster. However your trip will involve a drive from Frederick to Baltimore, and also a separate train itinerary from NYC to Queens. Therefore, the answer will depend on how flexible your schedule is. If you can catch certain trains and make right connections, the train may still be faster. If you can catch no traffic, the roads may still be faster. Ultimately, it should come down to your personal timing AND personal preference.

3) Do the environment and your health a favor, and take the train. Car drives only make economical sense if you need your car at your destination, or if you are carpooling. In NY, you don't usually NEED a car with you, it becomes more of a luxury, or even just a burden, when you consider parking, tolls, and how much time you spend stuck in gridlock up there. I recommend the train, if you can make it work with the planning of proper fare. Amtrak allows exchanges for up to one year, but although there is no penalty for doing so, you are subject to fare increases if you do not use your original reservation.

What is a good sports car around 10k?

Jacob Mart

I'm 17 and I'll be leaving for college after this year and I drive a 1999 ford ranger... I'm going to be getting a new car for college and I really want a sports car. I really like the Subaru WRX but I think it will cost too much. What about camarro mustang 350z? What is a good alternative sports car for around 10k?

Answer
Like the above person said those aren't really sports cars. But 10K can get you a lot of much more interesting real sports cars.
Such as these
The second generation toyota mr2 1989-1999
An early 1980s to 90s Lotus esprit s2 or s3
A pontiac fiero
A chevy corvette c4 1984-1989
An older honda s2000 1999 to 2003
A mitsubishi 3000 gt
A dodge stealth
or even a early 2000s porsche boxster

Of these the lotus is the most exotic, to people who don't know cars it could pass for a lamborghini. And with a top speed of 170 and a 0-60 time of 4.5 or so it drives almost like one too.
Also the more exotic cars on this list, the corvette the lotus etc, were likely somebodys second car, so most for sale will have under 50,000 miles.

looking for a good fast sports car?

Xaviar Man

under 6k? no earlier than 1980 used under 75k miles. any suggestions?

Answer
The Porsche 944 is a decent to good older sports car. The 944 varies from 2.7 L to 3.0 L and range from 167 HP to 247 HP depending on the model and make (S, Turbo, Turbo S). You can definitely find one for under 6k. I am not to sure about the mileage, since these cars are from the late 80s to early 90s. Most probably have a considerable amount of mileage, but due to your specifications most of the cars you find will have a good amount of mileage (otherwise they wont be below 6K). Overall the 944 is a great car, and plus its a Porsche and they make reliable cars (I'm not a fan-boy, its a true fact). Hope this helps.

What big body car gets good gas mileage?

ballingboy

cars i have had include 2000 impala, 86 caprice, 06 charger, thats the size of vehicle i like, im currently driving the caprice now and it sucks on gas so what big body car gets fairly good gas mileage from 95-02 are years im looking at, any help?

Answer
Ford's Crown Victoria doesn't do too shabby for such a big car. Though EPA numbers might be lower than this, I know plenty of people who get 22-26 mpg out of them.

If you want more luxury, move up-market a little and buy the Mercury Grand Marquis. Or if you have fantasies of being a limousine service driver, buy a Lincoln Town Car. But the Crown Vic is the lightest of the "Panther" body trio, and has the least gadgets to break. That's why the police love it...well, and the fact that it's rock-solid reliable in the most severe of environments. But yeah. That's my recommendation.

Lincoln town car L? Specs Plz?

andric

So im helping my dad find a replacement family car. And he considered getting a used lincoln town car L. Although it has a V8, i figured the cheaper price would makeup for the gas. What is the reliabity of his car? And the mpg? All the specs wud be nice thank you

Answer
the L has another 6 inches of rear legroom. the mpg is the same. lincoln town cars are very reliable because its a rich mans crown victoria they all ride same chassis/ same engine/trans, the town car gets 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. its rear wheel drive, and is the luxury version of grand marquis. i would really go for the lincoln town car because they last longer than its main rival, the cadillac deville. dont buy these brand new because by the time its a year old its worth 30k instead of 50k brand new. this car has more passenger and cargo room than the cadillac dts and town cars can last as long as a toyota or honda.

Would a new 2010 5 series be a good family car?

Broseph

Would it be a good car for a family where the youngest is 10 years old, and the oldest would be 47?

The 47 year old would be the main driver...

But like is it a comfortable car?
How about reliability?

We are comparing a 5 series to an e-class.
Which would you guys reccommend?

Answer
Im all about performance and luxury and the two cars that would be at the top of my list when it comes to luxury mid sized sedans would be either a 2011 Infiniti M-Class or a 2011 BMW 5 seires. The Mercedes E-class is nice but its not a car that draws my attention, sure the name of the brand is instantly recognized but the car its self is not, at least not for me. Mercedes Benz did well executing the interior design in the 2011 E-class but it doesnt feel as welcoming as the BMW 5 series or Infiniti M-class. BMW and Infiniti offer the best of both worlds which include Performance and Luxury. Mercedes tends to skip out on performance unless you opt for an AMG engine which will cost you thousands more. Youll get alot more bang for your buck in the 2011 Infiniti M37 opposed to all its rivals but on the other hand the 2011 BMW 528i sedan comes in a bit cheaper at an MSRP of $45,975 while the Infiniti M37 prices at an MSRP of $47,375. Both the BMW and Infiniti are very comfortable cars, they are also fun to drive behind the wheel. In terms of performance the Mercedes lacks that certian aspect in thier E350 sedan however despite the fact the BMW 528i does not have as much power as the engine in the Infiniti M37, the BMW still handles phenomenal. The Infiniti drives like it should for a car at this price point not to mention its basic model produces 330 HP while a BMW 528i sedan produces 240 HP and a BMW 535i produces 300 HP which doesnt come in to close to the Infiniti M37 standards. The BMW 5 series is a good looking mid-sized sedan, it has a very modern appeal to it, they used alot of high quality materials in the 5 series the only thing is you cant really see them as whole in the design of the car. The Infiniti M37 also uses high quality materials, the interior cabin is a little more upscale then the BMW in my opinion, they paid alot more attention to detail. Over all I think both the BMW 5 series and the Infiniti M sedans are on par with each other, they are just labled differently, its all a matter of preference cause both cars are great, personally if I had to choose one I would be happier behind the Wheel of the 2011 Infiniti M-class. Here are some pictures so you can compare all 3 sedans.

Good LUXURY car for a 16 year old?

bernard

Im getting a job at a hotel ( minimum wage) & of course I still live at home so can I afford a range rover, Cadillac escalade , Lincoln, or Chrysler 300 ? I really have my heart set on a Range Rover! :)) & YES IM PAYING FOR IT MYSELF! & I want an up to date range rover maybe about 2011-2014

Answer
The only luxury car you mentioned is the Range Rover. The Escalade is a big Chevrolet with some fake wood and cheap leather. The Lincoln is a Ford in a pretty dress, and the Chrysler 300 is basically a Mercedes E-Class in which Dodge ripped out everything that made the Mercedes a good car and replaced it with cheap components...it drives, looks, and is built like crap. You are not going to be able to afford a Range Rover...the insurance alone would kill you, not to mention maintenance, the car payment, and fuel. An owner of a new Range Rover is going to be paying well over $1,000 a month. If you want luxury that you can afford, buy an older BMW 3 series or an older Audi. Don't count it out because it's not brand new. Even a 2000 Range Rover is out of your price range if you're only making minimum wage. Best wishes.

What does it take to become an f1 driver ? ?

brazuka

I'm half Italian/Brazilian
i am 24 and think it is to late to start trying for my dream ?
i learn to drive at the age of 12 ! become a racer was always my dream ! but my parents never supported me .

how much money i need to start a racing carrier ?

thanks...

Answer
Realistically, you are much too old. Assuming you were the most naturally talented driver to ever exist, you would still be lacking any driving experience (and driving on a race track is not like driving around town or on the highway)... a few years to gain the basics of driving, and then a few more to quickly climb through amateur and lower professional ranks, though realistically it would take much much longer, would then leave you as a 30 year old rookie competing against 16-18 year olds with equal or better resumes. With so many competing for the one or two openings, do you think anyone would go with the driver that would be a couple years from retirement age, or the driver with 10+ years to develop?

The truth is, even if you started at 12, it may have been too late. Many (most) drivers in F1 were successfully competing from very early ages (just as most soccer stars or other sports stars started in those sports at very early ages). Race driving is not really similar to driving as most people know it. It is a set of skills that require MUCH development and honing.

To start a career in racing (other than F1 since that would simply be impossible at this point) you would need a few years to gain the basics of car control and racecraft, and then at least a few years further to build a record of success in racing. "Cheap" racing can be done for as little as $15-30000 US Dollars/year (plus the cost of the car and equipment... which would be at least another $15-30k initial investment). However, to actually move towards the professional ranks and a career, you would need to move to a more visable, and more costly series once you had the tools to be successful, and costs here will be in the $50-250k/year range, if not more. Sponsorship can offset some of this, but ultimately you will most likely need to fund a good chunk.

However, before even considering any of that, if you are interested, you should probably try your hand at something like karting as it's less expensive and will allow you the chance to get some experience (and it's fun).

How I can Buy a Luxury Car in Usa and export it to asia?

Shun

Im Trying to Buy Some Luxury Cars in USA and shipped to Asia, any clue?

Answer
Whenever cars are taken to a new country, the problem is not getting them out of the country of origin, but getting them into the destination country. Check with your port of entry officials to see if they have special requirements or taxes. Tell them your plans and ask their advice.

Is it legal to act as a straw vehicle buyer for export purpose?

kilotao

There are straw buyers buying luxury cars from dealers, and then the export company will get the car and export it. Many dealers have a rule to against export. So, basically, is it illegal to act as such straw buyer? No car loan is involved.

Answer
Since that ation of exporting is not illegal, buying a car that way would not be illegal.

What is the best medium-big luxury suv under 50,000 with 7 seats.?

dunnkid352

My family of 5 needs a car that does well in the snow wit all wheel drive. I was considering the new 7 seater x5, but i wanted other ideas. Thanks a lot!!!

Answer
Audi Q7,Mercedes G class. Stay away from American Makes they have cheapened the way they are built with the new models. I work for Ford and an example would be the 2007 Navigator no longer has aluminum control arms they use stamped steel. Many items on the American models are like this example so be careful when you go out and lay down 50,000+ on an SUV that may have resale values that drops like a rock when gas prices go up again.

best luxury car under 80grand "canadian price"?

i don't really know, i'm looking for one with 0 down payment and top line power with top reliability even though i'm the type to lease because i like to change cars often. now I love performance cars but i've gotten way too much tickets with my sl 63 amg so i found out my relatives sayed that buying a luxury car isn't typical of getting too much tickets even if your 10 over the speed limit, which car please? maybe audi 6? or bmw 5series? or a japanese car?

Answer
Well, when it comes to luxury cars, there are many.

The Lexus RX 350 is a nice car that comes at $50,000 to $60,000 and gives you ample amount of luxury. The performance however is not that fast.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/2007/03/06/first-drive-2007-lexus-rx-350.htm

For around $58,300, a BMW 335i can give you luxury. It is a car that's still powerful, but probably not as much as your sl63 AMG.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/2009/02/25/bring-it-on-2009-bmw-335i-xdrive-part-one.htm

What do you do for a living? An SL63 is very expensive especially in Canada. As for driving a luxury car, you should know that certain cars stand out more than others. A Mercedes or BMW might make you look like the rich guy speeding, but even if you are driving a luxury car, speeding is speeding. You should just take your car to the track if you feel the adrenaline rush, or you might just end up being in suspension or probation.
