What do the insurance companies(in Maryland) a sports car?

ezio audit

I'm looking into getting a 1997-2001 Mitsubishi eclipse or a 1997-2004 Toyota celica. I've talked to different people around here and some say they consider them sports cars and others r saying that they r family cars because they have 4 seats and you can put people in the back. So I'm thinking that cars like Nissan 350z's and 'vette's r sports car to them. Pls help me!

Answer
Most insurance companies in Maryland consider the cars you mention as sports cars and surcharge accordingly.

Rather it's equipment cost or installation cost? perhaps 20-30%?

Answer
I already have, I invested $16K have practically eliminated my electric bill, last month was under $10, I will break even in no more than 6 years sooner if the proposed rate increases pass, and I will save at least $50K over the life of my panels. If I had waited until this year I would break even in my 4th year, because I would have received a $7800 fed tax credit instead of the $2K tax credit. I did get lucky because I got a $10K rebate from my utility thanks to my states solar initiative, but even without it I would save money in the long run.

We have the possibility of rolling black outs this week because of several days well over 100 degrees, but if it happens, my a/c will still be running.

I think we just need a change in perception. Many people invest tens of thousands into luxury items in their homes, but don't consider the one upgrade that will save them money and shelter their budget for years to come. My panels cost about half what I paid for my pool, about 1/3 of my kitchen remodel, and even less than the wood floors I had put in, they even cost less than my car. Yet they are the only expense that is paying me back.

What kind of car should I get?

Jo Jo

I want to buy a new car. I have a $28,000 limit on my new vehicle. I know that I dont want a Ford because there styles dont appeal to me. What kind of cars do ya'll have that you like or recommend? I need ideas. I'm stuck in a rut.

Answer
You can choose from a great number of pre-owned near-luxury cars in your price range, if you are willing to consider buying a slightly used car instead of new. For this amount, you can find a wide array of models by Acura, Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and even Porsche under $28K, with low mileage (less than 50K miles), less than 4 years old, still covered under their original factory full warranty. The best places for this are online car auctions like motobidia.com.

Is there something wrong with me, or am I a typical 16 year old girl?

Jennaaaaa

Okay, this will probably be moderately long, so if you aren't actually going to read it all and give me a real answer then please don't stay and give me a bullshit answer. But I would sincerely appreciated anyone who takes the time to help me out.

I have dealt with occasional self harm since October 2011, but since 2012 summer its become more frequent. Not really often, only every couple weeks. I just don't know why I even cut anymore, I just get caught up in the moment of anger or anxiety, so I cut myself. I mean I feel like I don't have a real problem even thought I cut myself, but then I think, what sane person actually does this? I mean there has to be something wrong with a person who will voluntarily harm them self, right?

Ever since I was 12 years old, I've always thought there was something wrong with me (or maybe I just wish something is wrong with me). My mind is full of conflicting thoughts. Ever since then I'd always search "personality disorder quizzes" online, I'd take them and most would come out with strong results for borderline personality disorder, or bipolar disorder. Even though I know those quizzes aren't reliable.

When I'm at school or with friends I feel fine for the most part, but maybe 2 out of the 5 school days a week I'll just shut myself down and won't feel like talking to anyone and I'll just be very irritable.

In relationships (only 1 "serious" one earlier this year) I never let myself get close to the person, do anything sexual, hang out.. etc. I'm always overcome by anxiety and thinking the worst will happen or I won't know what to do.

Whenever I have plans to do something social, I always get the feeling in my stomach and I get extremely nervous for no reason at all.

Sports (I do track) I always want to be the best even though I'm not. And I'm never motivated to run in the off season but there's always this voice in my head that makes me and I'm miserable. During season I always try to overcompensate injuries just so I don't have to do anything at practice.

I just always feel this need to have a story, or have an interesting life. Maybe that's why I cut, but I really feel like nothings wrong with me. I have this good life, with a nice family and house, I had a good childhood. Nothing bad has happened to me.

I always envision bad things happening to me: car accident, cancer, teen pregnancy, just so I would have an excuse to not do anything in my life and get attention from people.

Ever since I was 7, anxiety has caused me to have insomnia. I'd just lay in bed with thoughts racing through my mind, or I'd go cry to my parents and they'd get very angry, occasionally my mom would come sleep in my bed and that would make me sleep. But this year, every since September i've just down a gulp or nyquil (I've gone through 2 bottles or the liquid kind and many of the pills) to help me sleep, and my parents dont notice or else theyd be furious.

In middle school, I began to have increased symptoms or hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and that caused a lot of anxiety and I was very insecure. But once I got into highschool i went to the doctor and almost completely resolved that problem.

And everyday (excluding summer, winter, spring breaks) when I get home I have to do the EXACT same things at the EXACT same times or I'll get very irritable.

When it comes to family, or parents of friends, or just people in general, I am always hesitant and uncomfortable talking about personal things or sensitive issues, even really stupid things. Like, if something happens to someone I'm kind of close to, and even if it doesn't affect them what so ever, I feel embarrassed for them, even if there is no reason to.

Honestly, I think nothings wrong with me, I just want something to be wrong with me. Sorry this was long, but every aspect of my life is consumed by these thoughts (I left a lot of key parts out of this because of the word limit though) and I have no idea if I should get help or not.

Please help me, I don't even know what to do about this anymore. And please, please ask me questions if you want to know anything! I'm an open book to strangers..

Answer
I read it all and I just want to help you the best way I can. Sorry if this is long!

Well, you should try to sit down and think about why you cut yourself. You must have a reason that you do it can't just be anger or anxiousness. Unless you have a problem with dealing with those two like... You didn't think you have any other way to take it out on so you took it out on yourself, and ended up just doing it because you got used to and learned that how you release the anger and anything that makes you mad. If that's the case try to stop and take it out on something else, like crying, screaming, punching something (like the floor or a pillow), find something to take your stress out on and you will feel better.

You might wish or think something is wrong with you either you don't have enough attention or you are bored and plain with your life that you just wish something interesting would happen. There are lots of personality disorder and mental disorders and sometimes you can tell if you really have one (I have one and I'm 16, too btw). Mine was from a trauma which causes me to shut down and not letting anyone in to know me, and I end relationships a LOT.

You might have a mental/personality disorder if you are shutting down randomly, keeping others to know you, and keeping you from getting feelings for others. My opinion a disorder isn't a big deal it is just something that you learn to adapt to.

The sports, relationships, and social thing might just be from being insecure and have low self-esteem that keeps you from doing what you want to do.

Only reason I see so far is that you could either have; a disorder; depression; insecurity; low self-esteem; or you are bored with your life.

A disorder and depression is something that you need to get help for.

Depression is a feeling of sadness, worthlessness, and empty. Depression can cause you to isolate yourself from others. Depression can appear out of nowhere and doesn't mean something happened or something is wrong with you. It doesn't go away on it own and it doesn't mean you have to have a sad, unhappy life either. It will keep getting worse until you start having suicide thoughts. Try talking to your parents about the possibility of depression and you can either get counseling (which helps you try to control those emotions you have and why you have them) and you could get some medication for it.

Disorder- defined by a combination of how a person feels, acts, thinks or perceives. There are lots of disorders out there that can make you feel how you do. You should try going to a doctor to get diagnosed if you have one or not.

insecurity; low self-esteem; or you are bored with your life is something you need to change, get help, love, and support for.

Insecurity- the thought of being subject to danger or injury. You can get out of that phrase by clearing your mind, saying you can do it, and take that risk. When you take that risk and nothing bad happen you can tell yourself nothing bad happened and you might feel better about the next thing. You can also try talking to someone about it to make it better, too.

Low self-esteem is thinking you can't do anything, aren't good enough, or believing you shouldn't do anything but stay home so you don't get embarrassed or shame if you fail.

Being bored of your life- meaning nothing interesting is happening and you want some excitement or more stuff to do, try getting hobbies, going out of the house more and doing new stuff to have fun, hang out with friends, talk to your family more, read books, write books, start drawing, anything to have fun! :)

What is the best and safest Convertible car seat on the market?

sports cars 4 sale on ... REPOSSESSED: USED CARS FOR SALE, Automobiles and Auto Parts - Cars
sports cars 4 sale image

Durty's Wi

I have done a lot of research and I am between the Britax Boulevard or the Cosco Alpha Luxe. I have to have one that holds 65 pounds or more when forward facing b/c I do not plan on buying another one until it's time for a booster seat. Anyways what car seat do you recommend, out of these two? Or any other suggestions are welcome? Thank you

Answer
The Cosco Alpha Omega Deluxe/Elite, Eddie Bauer 3-in-1, whateveres, the harness only goes to 40lbs, not 65lbs or higher. You must remove the harness and use as a booster when the child's shoulder go above the 2nd to top slots (the topmost slots on those seats is not reinforced) or he reaches 40lbs. So count that seat out. It definitely will not get your child to booster age - and it stinks as a booster anyways.

Remember these rules:
1)the BEST seat is the one that fits your child, fits your car, and will be used correctly 100% of the time. (This is why convenience features DO make a difference and ARE worth the money! If its easy to use, you're more likely to use it correctly.
2)Children should stay rear facing AS LNOG AS POSSIBLE!!!! The 20lbs/1 year rule is outdated and provides a bare minimum for turning kids forward facing. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration both recommend keeping kids rear facing as long as possible, up to the limits of their seat, preferably until at least 2 years of age. For good reason: A forward-facing child under 2 years old is 4 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured in a crash than a rear-facing child of the same age. A child's vertabrae do not fully fuse until 3-6 years old, before then, she is at great risk for internal decapitation. The spinal column can stretch up to 2 inches in a crash BUT the spinal cord can only stretch up to 1/4 inch before it snaps and baby is gone. In other countries, rear facing 2 - 3 - 4 year olds is standard, they understand that its safer. Here, we turn them as soon as we get to, seeing it as a right of passage thing or something. Ridiculous. Most convertible seats have a 30lbs rear facing limit, Cosco/Dorel/Safety1st/Eddie Bauer seats rear face to 35lbs, Britax rear faces to 33lbs.
3)Once you do turn them forward facing, they need to stay in a 5 point harness as long as possible. 4 years/40lbs is the minimum for riding in a booster, and most 4 year olds have no business using one yet. If they can't sit upright for an entire trip, they need the harness of a car seat still. And, even if they do sit properly, a 5 point harness is safer, so you want to keep them in one as long as possible. This is important to consider b/c most car seats only forward face to 40lbs. My son just turned 3, and is in the 95th% for height and weight - 40" tall and weighs 41lbs. He outgrew the 40lbs seats shortly after his 2nd birthday. It was a total waste of money.

So...knowing all that, here's some about specific seats. Please don't get a Graco Comfort Sport. Car seat techs call it the 'crappysport'. LOL Its a crappy seat that won't last your child very long b/c it has a really short shell. The straps twist all the time, and if they're twisted they won't support your child in a wreck properly. They're hard to install. There's nothing good about these seats except perhaps they're cheap sometimes. Ditto the Safety1st 3-in-1/Cosco Alpha Omega/Eddie Bauer 3-in1 seats. These are all the same company - same seat, just different covers. They stink. Hard to install, b/c of narrow belt paths. Ever tried to wash a skinny cup by hand? Now imagine that skinny cup with pointy edges. That's what putting your hand through these to install them is like. AND they have too short a shell to really go to 40lbs. And they do not make good boosters. Also, most kids have to use boosters until they're at least 8 years old. Car seats expire 6 years after the date of manufacture, so no matter what they say it is NOT the last seat you'll ever need to buy.

The Britax Marathon/Boulevard/Decathalon (These 3 are the same seat, just different variances of luxury additions, with the Marathon being the cheapest base model) can be found for regular price of $269, and on sale at Albee Baby online for $209-$219. The Marathon a wide open easy to route belt path, which makes using it correctly a lot easier, as do the built in lockoffs, which mean you never again have to use a locking clip. I can get it into 4 different vehicles in under 2 minutes. Because of the way the base is made, it fits in most cars. And, it is worth the money, b/c it lasts usually twice as long as most other car seats (all car seats expire 6 years after the date of manufacture) lasting a baby till they are 5-6 years old, where most at Walmart will only last till 2-4 years old. Rear faces to 33lbs, then forward to 65lbs. and top slots 17inches tall, lasts most kids to ages 5-6 years old.

The Evenflo Triumph Advance (not the original Triumph, make sure it says Advance) is a great seat. $150 version at Babies R Us has padding similar to Britax seats, top slots of 17", harnesses to 35lbs rear facing, and 50lbs forward facing. $120 Walmart version just has little less plush padding. Wide open belt path, easy to install, though it doesn't have built in lockoffs. The harness adjusts at the front of the car seat, you don't have to take the car seat out of the car just to raise/lower the straps. It's one of only 2 seats that does this (The Britax Boulevard is the other, I believE), and it has infinite harness adjustment so the harness always fits perfectly until its outgrown. No more tugging straps to tighten them either. You tighten and loosen the harness using knobs on the side of the seat. As a major bonus, it can be used in a recline position even in forward facing mode. Awesome for kids who still sleep in the car. I LOVE THIS SEAT! LOL My son, who is too big for every other car seat at Walmart has the same amount of room in this as the Britax Marathon.

The Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe Convertible seat is great, it is made by Britax, without all the frills. It's the same shell as a Marathon, but for less than half the price. $130 at Albee Baby online with free shipping, or at their eBay name, babysurplus. Rear faces to 33lbs, forward to 55lbs. Easy to use, fits in most cars.

These are the best you can buy that will give you the most bang for your buck. As a single parent I'm always watching the budget - I have no money to speak of, and these are what I would buy. (My son has a marathon and is soon getting a Britax Regent). They will last the longest. I only wish someone would've told me all this before I had him, I coulda saved some money for the extra seats I started out with!

All seats in the US must meet the same safety criteria to sell, so technically they all are safe, however, if its hard to install, then it won't be used correctly and that makes it unsafe. Also, they only must meet the guidelines, some seats barely pass, some exceed them. Britax exceeds the guidelines and is easy to use.

Its ok to hope that the convertible seat will get your child to booster age - but keep that flexible. It doesn't always happen! My son, being big, outgrew them all but his Marathon by his 2nd birthday, and then has now outgrown the Marathon by height at 3.5, way before he's ready for a booster!

P.S. Britax is having one of their semiannual sales sometime in February (you just have to watch for the prices to drop and nab it when they do - it only lasts 7 days or less!) You could snag a Britax seat for $200 or less including shipping!

How much does it take to start a nascar business?

FunFungirl

How much does it take to start a nascar organization? A nascar business with 2 cars teams for both and building and everythingBasicallyly like Stewart Hass racing. I got a project for school and its to start our on business and I am going to do a nascar race tim and I was just wondering how much it cost to start up and the step by steps of how to do it? Thanks
NOTE PEOPLE THIS IS A PROJECT FOR SCHOOL NOT REAL LIFE!!!!!!!

Answer
I thought you were going to build your own team?

Last I heard, about 6 million for a one car team but that's 2 large track cars, 2 medium track cars, 2 small track cars, and 2 sports car track cars. Then 4 test bed cars. I do not think 6 million would include an engine shop, so you might be buying or renting your own. And I think that would include a hauler. Try Racingjunk.com. They have a lot of stuff for sale including haulers and some equipment, to give you more ideas.

6 or 10 million to run one season.

Is it normal to romanticize/fantasize about anything?

sports cars racing videos on Racing Cars - clipart #83779121
sports cars racing videos image
Q. I pretty much romanticize about a lot of things when I'm not with someone. I sometimes romanticize about girls during my sleep.
Like I've heard of too much of anything is bad for you, but for here it's literally impossible for me to do so when listening top any type of music that I love or when I'm not really tired at night. Whenever I'm dead tired or just drunk, I just pass the fuck out so I'm not worried.

I love fantasizing also whenever I workout on the treadmill. Usually I fantasize about sport cars, street racing, WWIII, chasing someone through the streets, being an assassin in a club, or using martial arts against people with guns.
I love playing video games that are extremely related about the events, but I don't actually fantasize about the events in the story...instead they're always my own ideas but they're exceptionally dramatic. Literally, it's as if I'm watching a film in my own head.

Is this bad for me in anyway shape or form? Am I inevitably preparing myself for what is about to come? Am I just an adrenaline junkie?

Is it normal? Do the majority of people do this?

Answer
I do this excessively and am wondering the same thing. I think it can be considered daydreaming. I am in my head all day long thinking of scenarios, conversations I might have, etc.

The stories are so real you get lost and almost addicted to the feeling.

What type of racing or career is this?

BMWbuyerGo

Racing where you take Porshe's, BMW's, Viper's, Maserati's, Jaguar's, Audi's, or pretty much any other German, Italian, French car or any from europe some from America oh and cars ftrom Japan compete in this racing. This racing is represented in the Gran Turismo video game series better then any other video game. Regular sports cars are converted to have more power and performance and sponsers are added. Races can be on the famous Laguna Seca Raceway, Nurburgring, or Le Mans. An example of the cars used is the BMW M3 GTR, BMW Mclaren, Dodge Viper GTS, these aren't cars that are one seated speed machines that are similer to formula one.

So what is this racing called?
What do I have to go through to become a racer in this racing?
Is it possible to become a racer from places in the Eastern U.S like is there a college I should go to or are these career path's only available in California and Asia and Europe?

Answer
The closest thing to what you want is the US Touring Car Championship -- learn more at www.ustcc.com. You become a racer in this series by getting out there and racing -- typically in the US that means karts, then midgets, and eventually onto bigger and better series. There are karting organizations in the Northeast -- just look around on the Web.

Why do so many asian teenagers in Pasadena California have luxury cars? ?

luxury cars ranking on Best Cars Blog - Chevrolet Volt | U.S. News Best Cars
luxury cars ranking image

carlosc1db

Why are there so many luxury cars there in general. Everywhere I look Mercedez, BMW? Are salaries there that high, what jobs do these people hold?

Answer
Lots of Asians families that I know in the Pasadena / LA area work very hard and earn very well. They also tend to buy their kids nicer cars than some other parents who are just as wealthy.

There are people with very high salaries in CA. A first year attorney at a large LA law firm will make $160,000 their first year, with a maybe $25,000 bonus. In their 7th or 8th year, they will make about $255,000 plus maybe a $50,000 bonus. Partners make from over $250,000 to 2 million $+. Certain types of physicians make a similar amount, with surgeons and specialists on the higher end. Lots of asian doctors in Pasadena. I went to a party at a korean friend's home, and the korean women would introduce themselves to each other and ask What kind of doctor is your husband? Not - what does your husband do?! Many of the wives were attorneys.

And then there are those who make real $$$, like in entertainment, real estate developers, finance, and other types of business, etc. Although the economy is down, there are still people who are making the big bucks.

The top private non-religious high schools in LA cost from $25,000 to $30,000 per year tuition, plus donations. In some areas of LA, especially near Pasadena, those schools will be close to a third Asian. One of the very top public schools in the state is San Marino High, near Pasadena, and it's 70% asian. You can't buy a home in San Marino for under a million. So I guess all that schooling and hard work pays off! Arcadia is another well off community next to Pasadena, excellent schools, the high school is 70% asian.

I just hope the kids have some fun, too! Studying in high school until 2am, which I know they do, is NUTS. At my son's private school, the new asian parents always ask me if the students are ranked -- who is the #1 student, #2 student, etc. Nope, that would be too much pressure on the kids!

Are exotic and premium cars reliable anymore?

Q. The original supercars, such as the Lamborghini Miura and the Shelby Cobra 427 were good 20-40 years ago, but today, the maintenance repair for an exotic or collectible car is worth 30% less than the original M.S.R.P. The McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40 aren't popular cars anymore. And I don't like the Bugatti Veyron, because it's too expensive, too fast, too rare, and the fuel economy is about the same as the Hummer's. $2.5 million is for buying a house or an apartment in a large city near the beach, but not for a Bugatti Veyron!

Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi did a wonderful job on creating high-end luxury/sports cars.

The Big Three automakers are #1! But even better ones, such as Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Kia, Nissan, Mazda, and Volkswagen ranked #0.5 for making the best gas savers and great commuter cars.

If you want to own a muscle sedan that outperforms a $150,000 2013 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S and a $120,000 Porsche Panamera GTS, then a 2013 Chrysler 300 / Dodge Charger SRT8 for $60,000 or a 2013 Cadillac CTS-V for $70,000 is for you!

Starting March 31, 2013, gas guzzlers and exotic cars such as Jaguar and Ferrari will no longer be considered cool. This is because exotic cars are not reliable, they don't last more than 100-150,000 miles, not enough people are buying them, the supercars have bad fuel economy and they pollute more than the SUV's, and 98% of the population are more interested in a new home than a $200,000+ car. All of the exotic cars and ultimate grand tourers will be dead. Please go for a Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc if you want a luxury.

Answer
I don't know where you got it in your head that supercars were ever reliable. That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes are all overpriced to buy and maintain, and probably the last cars I'd recommend for the average person, unless you like throwing your money away.

What is the “poverty line?” Who is below that line and what are the causes of poverty?

Answer
To the poster who said tha "80% of Americans are below the poverty line." Get a friggin' clue. We have about a 12% poverty rate, and when adjusted to world standards it falls to about 5%. If we use the same standards as the rest of the world we have by far the lowest percentage of people living in poverty anywhere in the world. Most of the world considers poverty to be unable to eat everyday, not unable to buy a new car.

:"Europe vs. America
Germany edges out Arkansas in per capita GDP.

Sunday, June 20, 2004 12:01 a.m. EDT

The growing split between the U.S. and Europe has been much in the news, mostly on foreign policy. But less well understood is the gap in economic growth and standards of living. Now comes a European report that puts the American advantage in surprisingly stark relief.

The study, "The EU vs. USA," was done by a pair of economists--Fredrik Bergstrom and Robert Gidehag--for the Swedish think tank Timbro. It found that if Europe were part of the U.S., only tiny Luxembourg could rival the richest of the 50 American states in gross domestic product per capita. Most European countries would rank below the U.S. average, as the chart below shows.

The authors admit that man doesn't live by GDP alone, and that this measure misses output in the "black" economy, which is significant in Europe's high-tax states. GDP also overlooks "the value of leisure or a good environment" or the way prosperity is spread across a society.

But a rising tide still lifts all boats, and U.S. GDP per capita was a whopping 32% higher than the EU average in 2000, and the gap hasn't closed since. It is so wide that if the U.S. economy had frozen in place at 2000 levels while Europe grew, the Continent would still require years to catch up. Ireland, which has lower tax burdens and fewer regulations than the rest of the EU, would be the first but only by 2005. Switzerland, not a member of the EU, and Britain would get there by 2010. But Germany and Spain would need until 2015, while Italy, Sweden and Portugal would have to wait until 2022.

Higher GDP per capita allows the average American to spend about $9,700 more on consumption every year than the average European. So Yanks have by far more cars, TVs, computers and other modern goods. "Most Americans have a standard of living which the majority of Europeans will never come anywhere near," the Swedish study says.

But what about equality? Well, the percentage of Americans living below the poverty line has dropped to 12% from 22% since 1959. In 1999, 25% of American households were considered "low income," meaning they had an annual income of less than $25,000. If Sweden--the very model of a modern welfare state--were judged by the same standard, about 40% of its households would be considered low-income.
In other words poverty is relative, and in the U.S. a large 45.9% of the "poor" own their homes, 72.8% have a car and almost 77% have air conditioning, which remains a luxury in most of Western Europe. The average living space for poor American households is 1,200 square feet. In Europe, the average space for all households, not just the poor, is 1,000 square feet.

So what is Europe's problem? "The expansion of the public sector into overripe welfare states in large parts of Europe is and remains the best guess as to why our continent cannot measure up to our neighbor in the west," the authors write. In 1999, average EU tax revenues were more than 40% of GDP, and in some countries above 50%, compared with less than 30% for most of the U.S.

We don't report this with any nationalist glee. The world needs a prosperous, growing Europe, and its relative economic decline is one reason for growing EU-American tension. A poorer Europe lacks the wealth to invest in defense, a fact that in turn affects the willingness of Europeans to join America in confronting global security threats. But at least all of this is a warning to U.S. politicians who want this country to go down the same welfare-state road to decline."

Why won't Honda make a production-car V8 engine yet?

Q. I don't understand why an Acura won't have a V8 like other luxurious brands like Lexus, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Infiniti do. Why can't Acura just make a high-performance all-wheel-drive TL just as fast as the BMW M5 F10, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 4MATIC, the Audi RS 7 Sportback, and the Lexus GS-F? All these cars have a V8 engine, but Hondas don't.

Acura should plan to make a SH-AWD TL with a 520 horsepower VTEC engine with a 4.0- or 5.0-liter V8 and a price tag starting at $70,000 - $80,000, and a rear-wheel-drive TSX with a 4-cylinder or a V6 kind of VTEC with only 450 and a price tag starting at $55,000 - $60,000.

I don't know about the RL, but they should make a 3.85-liter V6 engine with at least 615 horsepower and a price tag of more than $110,000, probably more than a brand new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The 615 horsepower RL should be able to compete with other cars like the Audi S8, the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, the BMW Alpina B7, the Bentley Mulsanne, the Jaguar XJL Supersports, and the Chrysler 300 SRT8.

UPDATE: Yes, Acura is planning to make a 2015 NSX with either a V8 or a V10 engine, but I'm talking about Hondas and Acuras BESIDES THE NSX.
"The 615 horsepower RL should be able to compete with other cars like the Audi S8, the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, the BMW Alpina B7, the Bentley Mulsanne, the Jaguar XJL Supersports, and the Chrysler 300 SRT8."

I forgot to include the Porsche Panamera Turbo S. :-(
And the new 520+ horsepower Maserati Quattroporte V8.
I'm also wondering if Honda can really make an all-wheel-drive 345 horsepower Civic to compare with the Mercedes-Benz CLA45/A45/B45 AMG. LOL.

Answer
Why? They target a particular customer set that they feel doesn't want or need a V8. Acura is a low-end luxury car, basically a dressed up Honda, not in the same league as Lexus, which is more than a dressed up Toyota.

Why do economy cars get better gas mileage then luxury cars?

luxury cars best gas mileage on New Top Ten 2014 Pickup Truck Mpg Release and Price on prices-cars.com
luxury cars best gas mileage image

Code Brown

I am doing a project for my business stat class. My group is doing research on gas mileage of cars and found out that on average economy cars get better gas mileage than luxury cars. and we were wondering why this would be. I have been doing online research and haven't been able to find out why this is; I am hoping some one here could help me out.

Answer
Economy cars are usually much lighter and have smaller engines than luxury cars.

Here is a perfect example

A 2009 Lexus LS430 has a 4.6 liter V8 engine and weighs 4244lbs. It gets 16mpg city/24mpg highway.

A 2009 Toyota Avalon (which the Lexus LS430 is based off of) has a 3.5 liter V6 and weighs 3490lbs. It gets 19mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Luxury cars are expected to be much smoother and quieter than some cheaper cars. To do that, the additional sound deadning materials and techniques require the car be heavier. Luxury cars are also expected to be a little faster than economy cars therefore a larger more powerful motor is needed.

Whats a good impressive looking car with decent gas mileage under 25k?

Brad

I don't want to borrow money so I can only spend about 25k on a car. I do a lot with clients so I want it to be nice and impressive looking, but I also want it to get decent gas mileage. I put a lot of mileage on my truck and it gets about 14 MPH (2011 Ram). The new car needs to hold 4 adults. I know how to work on cars so I'm willing to take something with higher mileage if necessary, and it can be older, I just don't want it to look "old". 2wd is fine because I have the 4x4 truck as well I can drive if the weather gets bad or if I need to haul things, but I've had a few people tell me its not the most professional vehicle for the type of clients I work with.

I've never owned a "luxury" vehicle before.

I don't know luxury cars very well and I've tried to research them but it I can't find any good information on reliability of higher mileage luxury cars (60-80k). Is like a 2006-2010 Audi A4 (15 to 20k) ok if it has 78k-90k miles on it, or is that going to cause me trouble in a few years? are those reliable motors? an 08ish 3-5 series BMW ok?

Is there a relationship between video games and bad grades?

fgoal13

I am doing a research paper, and the topic I chose is the relationship between grades and video games. Do you believe that there is a relationship between the two?

Answer
I wouldn't blame it on the video games as much as I would the parenting of the children who excessively play them.
Personally, I have found that certain games actually improve grades with my children.
They are allowed only specific amounts of time to play with rules surrounding those times.
#1 90% of the games my children play are educational
#2 All homework must be completed before games can be played

We use the video game as a reward in our house, the kids need to earn video game time. It is also limited to no more than an hour per week.

The educational games are fun for the kids, plus they are learning while having fun.

If you are focusing your study for an older audience, like high school kids who play "shoot 'um up" games, sports, car theft, car racing, or other such games with no time limits or expectations, then the grades of these people most likely do suffer from it. Again, I would stand by the belief that it isn't the games fault as much as it is the parents for allowing the endless game play to happen.

Help with telling the difference between street bikes?

ccollin13

I'm looking to purchase a street bike soon. Probably a cbr 600 or gsxr 600. I've only rode dirt bikes before and all I know is 4 stroke and 2 stroke. 4 strokes sound deep and 2 strokes are high pitched. When I shop around for bikes on Craigslist, everyone says there bike is a 4 stroke or 4 cylinder. Now when I watch videos on YouTube, people ride there cbr600 and they sound high pitched like a 2 stroke. Do the 4 cylinder bikes sound high pitched? Reason I ask is because if I'm spending so much money on a bike, I definitely want it to sound like one.

It's a rediculous question but I'm 19 and If I'm spending this much money on something, I want it to be exactly what I like. Thanks for the help anyone and everyone!
This is the sound I'm wanting.

http://youtu.be/U9i11rLYiIM

Answer
If you are used to dirt bikes you are used to singles. I ride singles on the streets also. I rode a Suzuki Savage (S40) for over 8 years. On the Interstate, doing 70 mph, the exhaust tone is a low 38Hz. The vibration is similar to one of those massage beds in a cheap motel.

A four cylinder racing motorcycle will be singing 12,000 RPM and the exhaust tone is 400Hz -- a hum quite similar to telephone's dial tone. The vibration is similar to a dentist's drill.

I remember the first four-cylinder Honda in Detroit, I thought it was in '67. Didn't like it. It sounded like a sports car, not a motorcycle. If you want a motorcycle that sounds like a motorcycle you need a Thumper, or, at worst, a twin.

Thinking about leaving So Cal for the Lone Star State, good idea?

I' am a service member (US Navy to be exact) who has lived in San Diego and all over Southern Cal the last four years. I have found So Cal (particularly San Diego) to be quite charming and scenic with excellent weather. However, despite all of that and the fact that there is so much to do here, I have grown tired of the pretentious, materialistic, and shallow attitudes that many people display here (major kudos to the few people here who are not like that!). I have grown tired of the way that many people here seem to care more about looking like movie stars (i.e. women wearing those stupid oversized sunglasses that cover not only their eyes, but their entire faces; guys trying to look like and dressing up like Brad Pitt, ect.), and trying to out-do their neighbors by buying an even fancier luxury car. Anyway, despite the deep desire that I have to stay here, I have recently looked at moving to Texas, since the people there are pretty friendly and hospitable throughout the entire state. There is just as much to do there recreationally as California. Also, even though I' am a dedicated surfer and California has A LOT more wave action than Texas, I find that the state has plenty to offer when I can't go surfing. Texas is also not insanely overpopulated like California is. In fact, Texas is so big and has so much open space that I don't think that it will ever fill up (at least not in my lifetime anyway). I also have some family in Texas (one of the major reasons that I have been making regular trips there in the first place). I have found that many universities in Texas (i.e. UT Austin, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, Rice, Dallas, ect.) offer a better quality education than many of the schools out here. Also, rent and housing are MUCH cheaper throughout Texas. With everything as expensive as it is out here in So Cal (California in general), and the fact that I will be living on a budget while attending college after the service, I think that moving to the Lone Star State would be the better decision to make at this point. What do you think?

Answer
I have lived in both So Cal (Hollywood Hills) and Texas (Dallas and Fort Worth). It sounds to me like you are over living in SD. Texas is awesome. You already know people and have been spending time there. But don't think you'll be getting away from pretentious attitudes. They exist everywhere. Texans are proud of being in Texas- so you'll have a lot of that Texas pride shit to deal with.
But I really had a good time in Dallas and have conidered moving to Austin. Fort Worth was a little slow for me, but it's a nice place to live in you want to slow down a bit.

PS I am moving to back to So Cal only this time SD. Maybe you can help me:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjwpuX5sQeJ8RDKYpWL6h7lg7hR.;_ylv=3?qid=20080830125541AAJFPP4

You are in charge of all marketing activities in North America for the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer?

Maserati. Maserati has just introduced a new model that will be competing directly against some other well-known luxury sports cars such as Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, and the BMW Z8.

How would you positioning strategy for the new Maserati model? What would you do to support and establish this positioning strategy? Keep in mind that although Maserati is as good as its competitors in terms of the car performance and design, it is a small company and it does not have the same amount of money for heavy promotions as its competitors.

Answer
It sounds like you are working on a business school case.

I would position Maserati as different, more elite than the competition. I would make it a scarce resource, with initially a long waiting list to get one. At the same time pricing is going to be comparable (within 10%) of the direct competitors.

You may want to create a specific image (possibly European) and focus on specific demographics, and create a promotional strategy that uses multiple media to introduce the concept. You may want to place the product in some select movies and maybe do what BMW did a few years ago, hiring well known directors to create a short starring the car. In this case you may want to use European directors or people (like Scorzese) who are viewed as Europeans.

A less expensive strategy might be to give a car to selected celebrities and makes sure there is PR coverage on them. Also YouTube may be an interesting promotional challenge.

I hope this is helpful and gives you some ideas.

I want to buy an american car. I want something that looks like a sport car , 4 door, and that ranges from15,000 to $26,000. What do you recommend?

I really don't know of any 4 door car that looks like a sports car, thats pretty tough to come up with that one but you just have to look around and see what strikes your eye.

What kind of vehicle should I buy for living in the snowbelt?

SweetPea

I live in the snowbelt of Central New York and drive 25 miles to work one way every day. I know I want a 4 door and it MUST be 4WD or AWD. We will be starting a family soon so it needs to be "car seat/kid friendly." I'm looking for the vehicle that will give me the most bang for my buck. I have a car to use as a trade in but no additional cash to put down. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles but I currently drive a sports car so looks DO matter a little bit. But most important is its ability to go in the snow, reliability, gas mileage and crash ratings. Any recommendations?

Answer
How about a Subaru Impreza. They are like a four door sports car and are very sporty looking, get great fuel economy, and aren't extremely expensive. Also, what about a jeep? It isn't a sports car, but they do get around awesome in the snow.

What is your favorite luxury car brand and model? You don't have to tell why

Answer
When you say luxury I think of all the fancy accessories you can put in a car to make it feel like a mansion on wheels. The ultimate luxury car on Earth that comes to mind is a Maybach 62-S Zeppelin edition. This Maybach can easily cost up past $600 K fully loaded with the best factory options. Good luck even finding a Maybach dealership. You dont find them, they usually contact high income clients.

Now if we are talking about having a good sports car. The Porsche Carrera GT is in my eyes the ultimate drivers car. Not because its simply a high end brand, but because you get great visibility, Monstrous acceleration, and for its size its agility is insane. Unfortunatly a Carrera GT costs about $400 K large. Not to mention they dont make em anymore yet

Do luxury cars have good gas mileage and last long?

iTech17

I was looking for a car for the max price of $5000 and is a good car for starters and I saw Mercedes Benz and jaguar and Acura and etc.. Are there any good luxury car brands that last long.l I'm looking at used cars so it would help of you tell me which year I should look into, thanks.

Answer
By the time any of these cars get down to the 5000 dollar price range they will have already lived their design life expectancy. Parts will be expensive and difficult to find. More so with the cars that originate in Europe. Buyers of luxury cars tend to trade more often, so the car makers are only worried about the car lasting through two owners. They also tend to be "loaded" and those accessories are a big source of trouble.
Of the ones you mention Acura would be the best to purchase. It shares a lot of parts with the cheaper models made by the same company. Lexus is another one that should have better support.
But cars by Benz, BMW and Jag often do not have very many parts that are found on other cars. Some years of Jag do have a lot of Ford parts. But Jag just could not get with the Ford engineering model. They (Jag) want a car that needs a factory trained mechanic to keep it running and Ford Motor Company thinks warranty costs for repairs are avoidable when a car is built right.
If you are not down on American products consider a Mercury or Lincoln.

Rear facing car seat for Subaru Outback?

hune37

My 1 year old has just outgrown her infant seat and I need to buy a convertible seat to replace it. I have a 2003 Subaru Outback and I've heard that installing a rear facing seat in this make and model can be a nightmare. I'm looking for seat recommendations from people that have this car and have successfully installed a convertible car seat in a rear facing position.

Answer
General consensus is that you WILL be able to fit a car seat, depending upon model, in the outboard (rear driver & passenger positions) but not in the middle. Apparently installing a car seat in the middle of a Subaru is a no-go, in fact, check your manual, some Subarus specifically recommend not installing car seats in the middle position. And you can't use LATCH in the middle either, only on the outboard positions, but seatbelt is just as safe as LATCH.

Britax Marathon fits well both rear and forward facing in both side positions, which means Britax Decathalon and Boulevard will also fit since they are the same seat shell, just different features. Marathon is the base model.

A tech here got a rear facing Recaro Como in there. (Rear to 33lbs, forward to 70lbs, though its a really tall seat, and for that price, I'd rather have a Britax with true lockoffs, Recaro has backpedaled saying the 'lockoffs' on their seats aren't lockoffs, but just belt guides, since users quickly realized they weren't actually locking the seatbelt). http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=36724

Most importantly, keep rear facing as long as possible. Turning kids forward at 20lbs/1year is an outdated practice that could cost you your child's life!
1)A forward-facing child under 2 years old is 5 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured in a crash than a rear-facing child of the same age.
2)A child's vertabrae do not fully fuse until 3-6 years old, before then, she is at great risk for internal decapitation. The spinal column can stretch up to 2 inches in a crash BUT the spinal cord can only stretch up to 1/4 inch before it snaps and baby is gone.
3)Current research suggests that children under the age of two years are 75 percent less likely to die or be seriously injured when they are riding rear facing.
4)In a recent article from Injury Prevention, it was found that the odds of severe injury to forward facing children age 12-23 months old was 5.32 times higher than a rear facing child. (Car Safety Seats For Children: Rear Facing For Best Protection; Injury Prevention 2007; 13:398-402.)

It works this way: when you get in an accident and run into something, the car stop suddently, but everything and everyone in the car keeps moving in the direction the car was moving when it stopped, in most accidents, this is forward. So in an accident with a child in a forward facing seat, his head, the heaviest part of the body on babies and toddlers, flies forward very forcefully and easily snaps. If that same child is in a rear facing seat, his head tries to fly forward but is supported by the back of the rear facing seat, so there is no stress put on the child's neck and spine.

Check out this photo album exclusively of rear facing kids, many of them much older than 12 months: http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/RFAlbum.aspx There isn't a single documented case of a child breaking their legs b/c they were rear facing in an accident. There are, however, lots of cases where children have been killed and seriously injured where a rear facing seat would have protected them better.

Evenflo Triumph Advance fits well rear and forward facing outboard, too, and these are TOP picks in seats.

LOL My son, who is too big for every other car seat at Walmart has the same amount of room in this as the Britax Marathon.

proudmama2

I was wondering how much he has to weigh or how old he has to be in order to face forward? He gets aggravated because he cant see anything! When is he ready to face forward instead of rear facing?

Answer
Turning kids forward at 20lbs/1year is an outdated practice that could cost you your child's life! Though this is the standard guideline that most people think they should follow, in fact it is a barest of minimums. So an 8 months old should absolutely stay rear facing for a good long time yet. Here's why:

As for him being aggravated, in truth, if he is upset it likely has nothing to do with the direction he is facing, since he has only ever been rear facing, he doesn't even know there is an alternative, so how can he possibly be upset about something he doesn't know exists? Most kids PREFER to be rear facing. Their legs and hips are better supported in a rear facing seat than in a forward facing one. Perhaps he is running out of room in his infant carrier or wants to sit more upright. 8 month olds no longer need to be at that strict 45 degree recline anymore, they can't sit straight up yet, but can be somewhere between 30-45 degrees and he would then be able to see out the side and rear windows better. So get a convertible car seat and install it slightly more upright and it very likely will solve the problem. Best bets:

The Compass Tue Fit, also sold as The First Years True Fit, is a great choice, too. Here's a thread talking all about it: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=37221&highlight=truefit Has 16.5 inch top harness slots, half inch shorter than the Britax Marathon and Evenflo Triumph Advance. Rear faces to 35lbs, forward faces to 65lbs, has built-in lockoffs, and you never have to rethread the harness to change harness height. The headrest is removable to fit better in smaller cars. $179 for the one cover Walmart offers it in, check Babies R Us and other stores for different covers at a little more expensive price.

When shopping Remember these rules:
1)the BEST seat is the one that fits your child, fits your car, and will be used correctly 100% of the time. (This is why convenience features DO make a difference and ARE worth the money! If its easy to use, you're more likely to use it correctly.
2)children need to stay rear facing as long as possible.
Turning kids forward at 20lbs/1year is an outdated practice that could cost you your child's life!
A)A forward-facing child under 2 years old is 5 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured in a crash than a rear-facing child of the same age.
B)A child's vertabrae do not fully fuse until 3-6 years old, before then, she is at great risk for internal decapitation. The spinal column can stretch up to 2 inches in a crash BUT the spinal cord can only stretch up to 1/4 inch before it snaps and baby is gone.
C)Current research suggests that children under the age of two years are 75 percent less likely to die or be seriously injured when they are riding rear facing.
D)In a recent article from Injury Prevention, it was found that the odds of severe injury to forward facing children age 12-23 months old was 5.32 times higher than a rear facing child. (Car Safety Seats For Children: Rear Facing For Best Protection; Injury Prevention 2007; 13:398-402.)
He now has a Britax Marathon, which goes to 65lbs, and will be able to fit it for some time yet. If I'd have bought it when he was born, I could have had one car seat this whole time instead of the 3 I wasted money on. They are more expensive for many reasons, this is one.

And that's another misleading thing the box says - 5-100lbs. What the box fails to mention (you don't find out until reading the manual!) is that the harness only goes to 40lbs, NOT 100lbs! After 40lbs it must be used as a booster. And they do not make good boosters. Also, most kids have to use boosters until they're at least 8 years old. Car seats expire 6 years after the date of manufacture, so no matter what they say it is NOT the last seat you'll ever need to buy.

Is religion a black hole for money in a capitalist society?

luxury cars homes on Luxury homes hawaii

Desiree

Does the money that people give to religions just disappear or does it get redistributed amongst the community when the religion pays workers to build churches, mosques and temples etc and when the church leaders buy luxury cars, homes and private jets?

Answer
Honestly, I find less of a problem with that black hole than the one that corporations such as Halliburton fall into. Consider that all American taxpayers have had no choice but to "donate" to that black hole. Don't get me wrong, here. I don't agree with those rich evangelists who are reaping ill gotten rewards from the gullible. I just see a big difference between offering money and having it stolen from you.

Is one expected to give back lottery winnings if it was a charity lottery?

iheartshu

For example, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Princess Margaret Hospital sell lottery tickets for at least $100.00 each. Odds of winning are about 1/3 (luxury cars and homes, lump sums of cash). My question is, if you win the lump sum of money, is it expected that you will donate the money back to the cause?

Not that I've won or even played...I'm just curious what someone would do in that situation.

Answer
When you hand them $100 for the 'lottery', you are giving your donation. Probably $50 of that money is going directly to the charity. They are happy to give out the prizes, and happy for people to enjoy the prizes because they know they will have made money for the charity already.

What if you won one of the cards instead? Would you still wonder, "Maybe should I sell the car and give half the money back to the charity?" Of course not. The lump sums of cash are probably the lowest prizes by the sounds of it. If you get one, enjoy it, and enjoy knowing you still supported a good cause.

What muscle cars are not considered a sports car?

hayden

For example I know a mustang is high in insurance because it's considered a sports car. But the mustang Lx (made 79-93) is not considered a sports car. Is there any camaros firebirds etc etc that are the same way? If yOu get what I mean? Like a model of a sports car that isn't considered a sports car

Answer
Simple. If its a muscle car, it cannot be a sports car. If its a muscle car, it also cannot be a mustang. Why?

Here's why.
1. Muscle car - intermediate (Midsize) body, 2 door, 4 seat coupe or convertible, front engine, rear wheel drive, available with the largest engine made corporately, built between 1964 and 1972.
2. Sports car - ultra lightweight, compact, 2 door, 2 seat roadster, front or mid or rear engine, almost always a 4 cylinder (I can't think of any that aren't), rear wheel drive.
3. Pony car - subcompact body, 2 door 4 seat coupe or convertible, sporty looks and rear wheel drive.

Examples of each are:
Muscle car: dodge charger, Plymouth roadrunner, ford Torino, Chevrolet chevelle, Pontiac GTO, Oldsmobile cutlass 442, Buick GS.
Sports car: MG Midget, AC Ace, Triumph Spitfire, Mazda miata, Honda S2000, lotus Elise, Austin "Bugeye" Sprite
Pony car: ford mustang, dodge challenger, Plymouth Cuda/barracuda, Pontiac firebird/trans am, Chevrolet camaro.

Im looking around for a second car that would be fun to work with and put money into, yet i dont want to pay up for the stock car. I dont want anything way old. (15 years max). But i want something american made, just due to the accessibility of parts as well as something fast. So im looking for a fast, reliable used sports car to play around with and tune up. What would you get? thanks for the time.

I'm almost 16 and my parents are bying me a car. What are good american sports cars?

Erin M

I want an american car.. preferably GM. What are good sports cars other the the Camaro? Im not looking to buy a brand new one. Ford or any other american car business works too though.

Answer
are your parents rich? if so, then a sports car would be fine. and just fyi, don't buy GM, they're prolly the worse car makers in the world. if you buy anything with a GM motor in it, it WILL break after 4 months. I have tested this, and it is confirmed.

If you want to not look like a spoiled brat, get an older muscle/sporty car. Like a 1994 camaro, or a 1990 firebird. heck, even a 1976 corvette would do you well. you most likely won't find one of these running, so put a v8 big block in and listen to it purr. If you do end up with one of these, make sure you bring it to races and car shows, or it'll be a waste.

If you want to look like a spoiled brat, get any year 2000+ car you see and like the look of. Don't even ask what motor and parts are in it, since you're not paying for it, why would you care. My personally recomendations for the spoiled brat car is 2010 integra, 2009 ferrario, lambourginis, etc.

good luck

How is NASCAR and other car racing a sport?

fffdjsdfkp

I fail to see how people can make a contest out of who can push the accelerator of a car down the hardest. Clearly these sports are not a matter of who has the best vehicle, otherwise the richest contestant would always win. How can these car racing sports be classified as competitive sports?

Answer
Nascar isn't "a contest out of who can push the accelerator of a car down the hardest." First of all, you can' t make a car go extra fast by pressing harder and harder on the accelerator. Now that we have that cleared up, on to my long explanation of why Nascar is in fact, a sport.
First, let's look at what a sport is. A sport involves a mix of strategy and athleticism. Strategy is a huge part of Nascar. Calculating the fuel mileage of the cars. 2 tires vs. 4. Stay out under caution or pit. What adjustments to make on the car on the fly during the race. How to set up the car before the race. All of these strategies play a major role in each race and can win or lose a race or even a championship. Now on to athleticism. Are Nascar drivers athletes? The answer is absolutely. Think about how tiring a long car ride is. Nascar drivers have to be able to control their car at all times. One tiny slip up can end their day or ruin a chance at a win. So that means no tired arms, no leg cramps, and they have to have endurance. The temperature inside the cars regularly hits 130 degrees, and with several layers of fireproof clothes on, that makes focusing on driving all the more difficult. During this year's running of the Coca Cola 600, a thermometer inside Tony Stewart's car registered temperature of 140 before the heat caused it to fail. Greg Biffle's cool air blowers also failed during the race, and it was estimated that his cockpit reached temperatures of 160 degrees, and Biffle was leading during the final caution until he ran out of gas. Brad Keselowski also reported losing 12 pounds during the course of the race, and most drivers lose around 8 pounds through sweat during the course of a race. Now take a look at the pit crews. They can take a 3400 pound stock car, change all 4 58 pound tires, and fill the car with fuel from an 80 pound fuel can in under 20 seconds. In fact, one time in a truck race, a then-60 year old Morgan Shepherd served as his own pit crew when his under funded team couldn't afford one. Finally, all drivers and pit crew members follow rigid exercise programs and strict diets to stay in shape. In short, Nascar is a sport and the drivers and crew members are some of the finest athletes of any sport.
