Ever been to an NHRA event? What do you like about it? Any other league?

There's nothing like a drag race. NHRA is the top level in the sport (like NBA, NFL or MLB their respective sports). When the nitro-methane burning Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars fire up the smell is unmistakable. When they go full throttle every bone in your body will shake. Pro Stock is my favorite; they dump the clutch to launch and race down the 1/4 mile while shifting through 5 gears. Every ticket is also a Pit Pass so you can walk through the pits and see your favorite cars and drivers up close and personal; you might even walk away with used parts as souvenirs!
IHRA and the ADRL are some other leagues...ADRL is incredible 1/8 mile pro modified door car racing. They are the fastest door cars on the planet with a class for supercharged engines and a class for nitrous motors.

Good 80's Sports Cars for Drag Racing?
2010 Kawas
I am looking for a good sports car from the 80's to fix up. I can't spend too much. I love the older designs. I am looking to make this car into fast and good looking car. Like the cars that you might see in Fast and Furious Movies (Not saying there are any old sport cars in the movie series, but I want to tune it up and design it to be fast and look great). And I want it to be a manual transmission. I will be using it for track AND street use.

1989 Nissan 240sx. You can literally put anything from a KA24e (single cam four cylinder) to a big beefy 6.2 Litre LS1 V8 (Camaro/Firebird/Corvette engine)
