What is the best sports car for $30K tops?

Moore55

best overall in speed, looks, luxury, etc

Answer
Out of all the cars I suggest, my favorites are the Honda S2000 for RWD, Mitsubishi Lancer EVolution for AWD, and Mazda Speed3 for FWD.
I am answering this question assuming you mean brand new.
If you want a RWD car that will handle extremely well on the track, especially for the price I would suggest the Mazda MX5 or the Mini Cooper S, both go for around $25K, and altough I used to think they were slow econoboxes, their track records prove otherwise.
If you want big american muscle I would suggest the Dodge Charger SXT or Ford Mustang GT which are both around $26K.
For a refined sedan with plenty of power the Chevy Impala SS, Mazda speed6, Subaru Legacy GT, and Mercedes C230, Lexus IS 250, and Infiniti G35 all fit the bill.
For coupes you have the Nissan 350z, Mazda RX8, Honda Accord coupe EX-L V6 6sp MT, or G35coupe are good.
For hatchbacks the VW GTi, VW R32, and Mazda Speed3.
For AWD the WRX, SPeed6, Lancer Evolution are great
And for 2 seat roadsters the Honda S2000, Saturn Sky Redline, and Pontiac Solstice GXP.

All cars are either brand new 07's or 08's under 30K dollars.
A short list of even cheaper performance oriented cars are:
Saturn Ion Redline, Scion tC coupe, 06 Acura RSX, CHevrolet Cobalt SS, Honda Civic Si coupe, Pontiac G6, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, Volvo C30
Hope this list helps

What is a fast sports car under 30k?

blahh

I want to by a NEW not used sports car under 30k that can drive decent in snow.
I was thinking maybe a Camaro 2012? Or maybe a nice one will come out in the future
you guys know of that will be under 30k and decent in snow, like the Scion FR-S?
Thanks!

Answer
Well, the Subaru Impreza is a nice one, and it drives awesome on the snow as well thanks to AWD system, but what really matters is, what cars do you actually like?

You can use a car performance simulator to virtually test any car you like and run tests to see how it performs against other cars to help you decide, give a try at http://www.nxgtrsim.com
