Your Top 3 Luxury Cars?

Lola

I am writing a story where a family has accumulated a lot of money, and I essentially need 3 luxury cars to give to the family.
I've decided that the middle child, a boy, gets a Mustang GT, basically because I am IN LOVE with those cars...but any ideas you have would be wonderful.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me a link to a picture so I know exactly what it looks like, unless you can describe it pretty well.
Thanks in advance!

Mercedes Benz (Crazy, here in Germany you'll see those nice cars hooked up to... trailers.)

I'm looking for a car, its my first car, 20,000 dollars is the restriction help?

luxury cars gallery on Photos: 5 to Drive Luxury Cars - Road & Track

Q. It has to have heated seats, comfortable, roomy, good speakers, decent or good mpg, high intensity bulbs for front lights, it can be an SUV or a regular car, can be convertible.. Any help?

Answer
If you want a car that is stylish, sporty, nice, and cheap, you have got to go for the Dodge Dart. In the long run, you will save so much money, its starting at under $16K and its more than 40 miles per gallon. I can bet you that Dodge is losing money making this car. http://www.dodge.com/en/2013/dart/

Another car is the Chrysler 200. Its a luxury car for a cheap price. The design is fantastic and it starts at $18K. http://www.chrysler.com/en/2012/200-lx/

If you want a foreign car, I would say getting the Volkswagen Jetta would be a great idea. Volkswagens are reliable and are pretty well respected cars.
http://www.vw.com/en/models/jetta/gallery.html

Also foreign, and a very stylish and good deal is the Hyundai Elantra. Its highly ranked on almost all car magazine and ranking websites, and is under your price range. https://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicles/2013/elantra/?

If you want to be futuristic but don't mind having an odd looking car, then look at the entire Scion model lineup. If you can somehow shell out $4000 extra, you could get the Scion FR-S, which is a highly touted sports car. The Scion TC is a nice sedan and the xB is a rugged square that still looks right for the city. http://scion.com

The Toyota Camry is also a nice car which you could probably get for a good deal at your local dealer. It is about $21K but Toyota dealers always give deals to compete against the numerous other dealers in your area. Try haggling the price down to $18K. http://www.toyota.com/camry/

As you can see, the door is wide open. $20K is a lot of money and you can definitely get a good car that you will enjoy driving and will save money with. If you really want to save money, I would get the Dodge Dart because of its MPG range. If you want style, go for the Chrysler 200 or Hyundai Elantra. If you want a futuristic car that people will notice, go for the Scion brand. They are especially made for young people who are looking for cars under $20K

Which are the current fastest, best and coolest limousines today?

Ian

I'd love to hear the top three, in anyone's opinion.

This is for a movie that's being made....so definitely need an aesthetic quality. And speed.

If you can include an image, that would be a big help.

I really appreciate anyone's time and help.

Answer
many people consider full sized luxury cars to be limos. not stretched limos but limos nonetheless.
cars that fit this descriptions are Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes Benz S class, Bentley Mulsanne, and the Rolls Royce Phantom.
these cars are all very fast. sure the stock A8, 7 series and S class arent much on speed but their sports versions (S8, 760Li, S63 and 65 AMG) are actually very fast. the Bentley is based off of the S8 and the Phantom is just naturally quick.
these cars arent good on cornering because of their high weights but their extremely powerful engines make them very fast in a straight line.

I think the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG might be the fastest with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.2 seconds.
the others are fairly close.

here are pictures of the latest models of each. since my idea of good looks might not be the same as yours, I'll let you choose.

2014 Audi S8

2014 BMW 760Li

2014 Bentley Mulsanne

2014 Mercedes Benz S65 AMG
http://content.worldcarfans.co/2013/7/17/big/11117347761523395374.jpg

2014 Rolls Royce Phantom
http://images.passionperformance.ca/photos/5/1/51315_2014_rollsroyce_Phantom.jpg

other cars that are interesting to look at are the Rolls Royce Ghost and Wraith. they are also quite quick but not as large as the phantom. the phantom also comes in a coupe and convertible version (called the drophead). Bentley also has the Continental, a 2 door luxury car and the Flying spur, a 4 door variant of the continental.
Another company also known for luxury is Maybach but they no longer exist. The last models from 2002 to 2011 when they stopped production were slightly based on Mercedes platforms. (Toyota is to Lexus and VW is to Audi what Mercedes Benz is to Maybach). To give you an idea of the level of luxury and price of these cars. 2 years ago at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, they had one on display. The woman who answered questions about the car and displayed it wasn't allowed to even touch it.

If you were looking for a stretched limo type deal I'm sorry but I can't help you much since these are produced by small companies and often just modify cars that are made by others.

My favorite of the vehicles I've listed is by far the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG. In general, Bentley and Rolls Royce are regarded as the pinnacle of luxury however the latest Mercedes Benz S class has so many cool features, that neither Bentley nor Rolls Royce can match it. on top of that, the S65 AMG is also faster. Here are some cool features that the Mercedes S class has.
Heated panels so that not just the door and steering wheel are heated but everything you touch including the doors and center console are too. Selectable scent air conditioning with scents designed to dissipate quickly and not stick to the seats or clothes. A multitude of massage settings from relaxing hot stone massages, to massages designed to energize and invigorate you. Cameras on the windshield that allow the car to drive itself for short distances, track traffic around you and prevent accidents and scan the road surface ahead to prepare the suspension for bumps giving you an extremely smooth ride. (magic body control). It also has radar and sonar all around the car to monitor traffic to keep you from getting into accidents including lane changing accidents, intersection crashes, late braking reaction to people or cars in front and preventing damage while being rear ended.
For looks I'd much rather take a Rolls Royce Wraith though. The car oozes elegance and style.

Edit: the reason why I didnt include Lexus in that list is because their top model full sized sedan the LS600h lacks the speed that these cars have)

do you recommend a BMW 335i xdrive over an infiniti G37 AWD?

Brian Turn

Why should I buy one over the other? What are the positives and negatives over each car?

Answer
Great question. I am a previous "owner" of a 2007 BMW 328I sedan, I now currently have a 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan. First off Infiniti is a great great great Luxury automobile. Admittingly I am a tad bit superficial and picky when it comes to purchasing/leasing a car. My previous Lease was a 2007 BMW 328i sedan, I can honestly tell you that when it comes to performance and luxury Infiniti hands down takes the title. I am very content with my 09 G37 sedan, it has been nothing but a dream so far. I currently have the Journey package on my G37, I decided not to opt for the Navi package seeing that I already had a GPS (Tom Tom) from the previous BMW I had. Anyway with or without the Navi package I still got the LCD screen on my G37, BMW never gave me that. It looks way more modern and sophisticated when compared to BMW's interior designs. Dont get me wrong I loved BMW but I thought the car lacked a little bit in the performance and luxury department for the money I was paying for monthly. Now Im paying about just $50 more then my previous lease and its well worth the little extra money for everything im getting standard in the G37. By the way the G37 sedan just got facelift and a few interior changes for 2010 and it looks amazing! The 2010 BMW 335Xi will cost you $42,600 (standard) and it will only produce 300 HP while the 2010 Infiniti G37X AWD sedan will produce 328 HP and it will cost you $37,000 (standard) and fully loaded will cost you $47,000-$50,000 while the BMW 335xi will cost you $51,000-$55,000 when fully loaded. Not to mention that when you opt for a Journey package on a 2010 Infiniti G37 sedan you will now get a Rear view camera and Rear sonar detection system standard on the G37 without opting for a Nav system. When i leased my 2009 G37 inorder to get the rear view camera you had to opt for the Navi package. My 2009 G37 Journey package included Handsfree Bluetooth, heated front seats, Diming rear view mirror, automatic tilt and teliscopic steering wheel and memory seats while in the 2010 G37 journey package now includes extras such as a rearview camera and rear sonar system. Although my previous BMW had xenon headlights I had to opt inorder to get them while all infiniti's come standard with Dual xenon headlight regardless of the package you choose. As you can tell i did my research before leasing the Infiniti, I couldnt be happier.

EDIT: Dont pay attention to the last guy he clearly doesnt no anything about Infiniti or BMW, he's just a BMW fanatic i highly doubt he is a personal owner of either. Infiniti will give you a loaner car with out charge, usually all luxury manufacturers do this such as Lexus, Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes. If you read into Infiniti they call it the "Infiniti Total Ownership Experience"

Whats the best european-like small car to buy in the US?

Lion Eyes

Best bang for my buck? Something thats small, economical and durable.
I don't mind if its a stick shift or not.
I had a look at the mini cooper but its too expensive.
Diesel would be nice.

Answer
The Mini Cooper starts at about $20k. Yes, the dealers usually option them up and it's hard to find anything but a Cooper S without a special order.

If that is too expensive, then Ford makes the Fiesta and "New" Focus, and Chevrolet makes the Cruze, all cars that have done well in Europe. All start under $20k for the sedan. The base-model Jetta starts at $17k and the Golf at $18k - the Golf is highly preferable over the Jetta IMHO. And there's always the Fiat 500 - if you can find a FIAT "Gallery".

Diesels are more expensive here than they are in Europe, because our emissions standards are different here. All the Euro manufacturers make efficient diesels for their small cars and COULD sell them here - but people do not think of "economy" when they think of Mercedes or BMW. They think of luxury sports cars and sedans. What Europeans think of as city cars, we think of as "cute cars" designed for teenage girls. We don't buy a car based on what we need in America - we buy a car based on how powerful it is and what we *might* need to do with it, someday. Those tastes will take a while to change - in the meantime, you won't be seeing a Fiat Panda or a Mercedes A-class.
