Q. For a more luxury/high end brand such as BMW,Mercedes,Lexus,Infiniti,or Porsche.

Answer
Couple of misconceptions here. First off, the concept of "entry level" does not really exist for car salesman. You work on commission, so it's all about you. If the guy that's been there a month sells more cars than the guy that's been there 20 years - the guy that's been there a month gets paid more.

Next, the brand doesn't really matter that much, high end or otherwise. It's all about the profit on each car, and how many you sell. Selling a Ford at a profit of $2K will make you more money than selling a Lexus at a profit of $1,500. Of course, it's easier to sell higher priced cars at higher profits........but it's also harder to sell more higher priced cars in the first place. Pay is determined by total dealership profit, which is determined by how many you sell and profit margin on each.

Car salesman can make anywhere from practically nothing, to $100K/yr (rare, anymore). All depends on you. Check out the articles here:

Good luck.

Is it true that BMW is prone to more frequent and costly service repairs?

For instance a Mini is a BMW. The upcoming BM1 I hear to be a great car, and I am aware of the "free oil" changes, I have just been hearing increasingly BMWs are expensive to maintain as compared to others. What do you think?

Answer
BMW's when maintained properly are usually above board and don't have many problems.

These are expensive luxury vehicles with amenities which other vehicles don't have. Unless you own a BMW, you really don't understand what others wish they also had. They just see the car, but don't know about the extras and the feel of the drive.

For that reason, cost is subjective. What is expensive? When I was young, I couldn't wait to change my own oil. Now, I don't mind sipping a cup of coffee and reading a magazine while an expert does it for $90.

My BMW's never break down, and never have in the 8 years I have had them. Instead, they are properly maintained according to the schedule.
