I'm thinking of taking my boyfriend to a sports car racing, but I have no idea how I should start. Which racing track would you guys recommend? Any places in Southern California please.:) Thank you!

Answer
Aha, looks like you took my advise from a previous answer about considering going to a sportscar race.
If you want to go this year, your choices are limited and the only race left on the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) is at the Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca, Oct 19-21. See link below and scroll to bottom of page.

This link will take you to the Mazda Raceway website which has schedules and ticket information:

The Rolex Series has only one race left on the schedule, but it's next weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.
Looks like some of the other people who answered your question should take remedial reading. Bristol is an oval race track, it isn't in Southern California and it doesn't host a sportscar race.
By the way, there are no more major events at Infineon Raceway, that last one was on the weekend.
I hope at least some of this is helpful.

How to enter sports car racing?

Dan

For quiet a while I've been wanting to know the appropriate steps to enter sports car racing. I'm particularly interested in IMSA Lights racing and any kind of entry level open wheel racing. I currently live in Florida. What kind of cars and/or series would be best for this interest, or what steps should be taken?

Answer
Look to the SCCA. Formula Fords and 2000's are great ways to get started in purpose built cars. The other option is to start taking your street car to a high-performance driving event and start learning to drive what you brought.
