Answer
So why don't you get a 3000GT? They're not all manuals, you know.
I own three of them. Two autos, one manual.
Except, you want something from the 2000's, so the 3000gt is out the window anyway, since they stopped that in 1999.
As far as what car you should get? Get whatever YOU want. It's your car. Your money. Your license. Don't get what other people suggest to you. Get on Google, do some research, and buy what you want.

What sport car can i get with the best gas mileage?
Lilly
I am turning 16 in a few months and my dads going to buy my car. Now i'm looking for a good price but i also really want a sporty looking car. I really like the eclipses but my mom doesn't like how much gas mileage it gets because i'm going to be traveling a lot. Is there a really sporty car for a good price with amazing gas mileage?
Thanks in advance :)
I'm not looking for a super new one. A 2004-2010 would work. And i live in the city so i would need to get a car that gets good mileage in the city.

The Chevy Cruze is not a muscle car, but it looks sporty, has a peppy turbocharged ECO engine that gets 42mpg--best in class fuel economy. It was introduced this year, but the starting price is low at $16,000, although you may be able to get a discount. Another advantage is that the Cruze is not classified by insurance companies as a sports car, so insurance will be much lower. On top of that, the Cruze has excellent interior quality, great handling and ride quality, and is an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Here is the edmunds.com (one of the most respected auto reviewers in the world) comprehensive review of the 2011 Chevy Cruze.

EDIT: I don't agree that the Focus is "cooler" than the Cruze, but that is just a matter of opinion. The Focus is an excellent car as well, but the reason I didn't mention it is because the redesign (really the only one I can recommend) did not come til 2012.
