I was thinking acuras bit I want another's choice of cars
Answer
acura, lexus, infinity, audi, bmw, mercedes. they all make 4 cylinder cars.
my favorite is Audi. they are fairly fuel efficient have 4 wheel drive for extra grip and their interiors are quite nice.
BMWs are more driving machines dedicated to proper driving dynamics, they are most ofter rear wheel drive and boast a ton of technology, they are also sportier than audis.
Mercedes is like the muscle of the three german luxury brands, they have great engines and a nice mix of interior quality and technology.
of the japanese brands my favorite is lexus. they are truly in a class above the other 2, they are leaders in hybrid technology as well as driver features. they are the luxury version of toyota.
acura is the luxury version of honda and make great cars however they are not up to the same level of luxury as lexus or the german brands. their cars still kick ass and I can't wait till the NSX supercar comes out.
infinity is the luxury version of nissan and that's about all you need to know. while they dont typically lead the way in anything they are a good mix.
in america there is also lincoln, cadillac and chrysler.
lincoln is the luxury version of ford and are now doing a great job implementing new technology into their cars, chrysler is another great american luxury car maker and they managed to be the fastest growing american auto maker after the recession, the 200 is extremely comfortable and not bad on technology. (the 300 is also nice however not 4 cylinders)
I don't really know id cadillac makes any 4 cylinder cars however their mechanical technology is so good, ferrari borrowed their magnetic ride suspension for the 458 italia a highly awarded car thats already a classic.
my recomendation goes to the the audi a3 TDI. its great on gas, has good space, a great interior and very safe due to its 4 wheel drive.
If i want a more sporty car then a bmw 328i is the way to go. being rear wheel drive with a bigger engine than the audi its going to met a much better throttle response.
if i want something small and nice just for myself then the Lexus es300h lexus has led hybrid technology for a very long time now and this hatchback is great for drivers for its fuel economy and features.
if budget is an issue acura is really the way to go.
