Volskwagen Group, FIAT and Chrysler.
These 3 groups own nearly 93% of all family, sports, gran tourers, luxury cars sold in 2011.
Mercedes Benz is not even there.
How is this possible..?
Answer
they buy out smaller car companies.
e.g. fiat bought ferrari. volkswagen bought audi, lambourghini, porsche etc.
volkswagen are huge.
your figures must just be for europe right?
I can't imagine that these stats hold true for east asia e.g. japan, china
toyota would surely have to be there

Why are Mercedes cars expensive? What makes them different than say a Toyota model?
Q. I'm just starting to drive and I'm just curious as to why cars are more epxensive than others.
Why is a mercedes like 90,000 dollars when a toyota is about 6,000? What makes them different? Please explain.
Also, are the expensive cars WORTH it in your opinion?

Answer
Mercedes are a luxury car, much much more durable, reliable and is very safe. It's basically the name(brand) of the car, Mercedes has a good reputation and is manufactured in Germany as Toyota in Japan because it is a Japanese.
Toyota is a lower grade car and doesn't have that good of a reputation. They're not half bad, but i would personally choose the Mercedes
And yes, expensive cars are worth it, because they are much durable, reliable and safer
