luxury cars that hold value image

I own an Audi A6 and a Volvo, but what about the rest? I don't want to buy one that doesn't have good resale value or that has lots of problems right out of the gate.
Answer
Lexus, Infiniti, Acura - Not even worth the time it took to type their names. Think of their counter parts;
Lexus is Toyota - Infiniti is Nissan - Acura is Honda
Now we move onto BMW and Mercedes-Benz
BMW is Bentley - Mercedes-Benz is Maybach
There is a huge difference between a Bentley and a Honda!
BMW is the best in class, It holds it's value better than any other car on the market.
I have owned a BMW since 2003 and it has never had a problem with the exception of a speaker that likes to crackle. I own a Mercedes-Benz ML500 SUV and it is a beautiful car, but has had it's share of minor problems. I own a Volkswagen Passat, The Audi's counterpart and I have had a few problems with battery related issues.
My Family owns several Mercedes-Benz, a BMW, 2 Audi's and a Volkswagen Touareg. The cars that have seen the repair shop the most are those by Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
However, despite our combined problems, I have ordered an E Class Mercedes, 2008.
Mercedes-Benz was recently acquired by General Motors, Hence their maintinence issues. But the way that they drive, keeps me coming back for more.
Those of Asian descent may have the best repair records, but nothing looks or performs like a German car. German cars also have a better resale value and a higher price tag because they use higher quality materials, better engineering and have a reputable name behind them.
If you want a worry free car, your best bet is a BMW of any series.

How would you compare a Cadillac to a foreign car?
Harvey
I want to get a 2001 STS (77,000 miles), but my family keeps saying if I don't go with a foreign, I am going to have trouble, or atleast more trouble than If I would of got a foreign. But, If i went with a foreign, it would not be as high-class as a Cadillac, Cadillacs are considered luxury ...........................are foreign cars considered that much better than a Cadillac?
Answer
ON used cars ...
its a 2001 8 year Old Top of the Line car.
Cars all have problems and things can happen to any car at any time Batterys, alternators, tires, brakes, fuel, etc... Again anything at any time can go wrong. With any car ot truck.
ONLY 63 % of people try to service and take care of what cars and trucks they own and keep everything up to date.
11% just put Gas in and Drive and Have NO clue or don't care. They just don't care. Some of them shouldn't even be on the road. 2%
So Import Vs Caddy ....
If the 01 STS is 77K miles Clean and looks good.
its a great car as used cars go. The motor is Designed after the Corvette LT5 but for Front wheel drive call the NORTHSTAR that have a great track record over the years.
Price VS what needs to be Serviced on the car makes your value. Tires, brakes, tune-up, fuel filter ( last one replaced)
Import.... what can you find for the same price ? With the same track record. or the same Value ? Is what you have to look at.
If I could buy one for trade in value I would buy one.

So they hold thier value on the used car market.
Good Luck shopping.
