Hello im looking for american sports car but i do not want a mustang, comero,or corvette. I want a car with sum balls but i just dont like those cars for some reason. I want something newER. Like a 04-06. And something i could get on a $250 lease or paent. With about 1500-2000 down reqired. Im not looking for any vehacle sales solicitatons. Only suggestions on something that you think may fit this critearia. Thank you.

Answer
Dodge Neon SRT-4.
Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged.
Ford SVT Focus (that'd be a little older, though)

Those kind of qualify as sports cars. Other than that, you are shit out of luck. In a couple years you might get a Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky for the kind of price you're talking about (and by the way, if you're shopping based on monthly payment you are a fool. Don't even MENTION payments if you go to a dealer. Handle your financing with your bank.)

Forget about buying American if you want a sports car that cheap, and you don't want a Mustang.

Which is the hottest convertible sports car for sale?

Susan W

Answer
I am no car expert but this is what I found out from the net.

Toyota Camry Solara is one of the hottest convertible sports car for sale. It is 190 inches to 191.5 inches in length, 71.1 inches in width, and 55.1 inches to 55.5 inches in height with a wheelbase of 105.1 inches. Its fuel capacity is 18.5 galloons. It is manufactured from 1999 to 2003 and was assembled in Cambridge and in Ontario, Canada. It has SXV-20 (I4) or CV-20 (V6) platform. Its engine could be 2.2 L 5S-FE I4 or 3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6. It has two modes of transmissions which are 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual.

Joining the list of the convertible sports car for sale is the Cadillac Fleetwood which has both sedan and coupe or convertible versions which differ in body type. The sedan is a 4âdoor while the convertible is a 2-door.

Another coupe in the convertible sports car for sale list is Saab 9-3 (pronounced "nine three"), which is badged as 93. It has both hatchback and coupe or convertible versions which differ in body type. The convertible is a 2-door while the hatchback may be a 3-door or a 5-door.

Sport cars vs Muscle cars question to professional...?

Idle

At first please Don't confuse me with an amateur.I've done for months lost of research about vehicles.
The question is why are sport cars like Ferrari 458 Italia(562 hp); Aston martin (540 hp);lotus;BMW;Audi;and all others considered as luxurious car more expensive than muscle cars even know they are less powerful such like 2012 Chevy Camaro zl1 (580 hp) or Ford Mustang Shelby Gt (550 hp) ... Please do not bring me the low production rates stuffs;high price material or hand made.Cause i got proof that these companies like Ferrari get 175 % of benefit on every car sale so please serious and tough answers.
I know that speed doesn't only stands on horsepower; But the Zl1 Camaro got the most respect worldwide for his aerodynamic ; drivetrain ; launch; only one able for 24 hours deep track with no tire changing;and best tire smoke. Also all these muscle got super leather ; cool and lasting interior smell; HID headlamps; motor computer set able; air brake and others. So please enough professional answer
note:the muscle car and sport car terms have changed these late years.Am not a muscle car lover.(i could bring a lot more info but it would be too much long)

Answer
Mainly sports cars such as Ferrari and Lamborghini are a social status, It says look I am rich I can afford to run an Italian sports car. Muscle cars however haven't got that status.

Usually if someone said here I have two cars, A Lamborghini Aventador and a '67 Mustang with a custom engine, choose one.
A lot of people would choose the Lambo, I would choose the mustang. I prefer them they have a meatier sound and are more fun to play about with and tune. I suppose it depends on what you are doing with it, If you are like me, a mechanic and have been into cars for years I would choose the muscle car just for pure enjoyment and because of their tuning capabilities, If I was a very rich professional sports player I'd have an Aventador because I'm an over paid, half brained idiot who thinks because it has a bull on it and it's Italian it is the fastest thing on the road and you look the mutts nuts.

Why don't you see expensive sports cars with high mileage for sale?

Zach s

I understand that the value goes down if you drive it more but i've never seen a ferrari with over 100k on it. There has to be somebody driving these sports cars past 100k and then selling them

Answer
There actually aren't many people driving them that long. The problem is that they need huge repairs when they get old. A high performance engine like what's in a super car is running at the edge of it's limit. It likely won't make it to a hundred thousand miles.

Now if you're interested in a ferrari with 85,000 miles that needs a $35,000 engine job and has a bunch of accessories that frankly, who knows when they'll go, you might be able to find what you're looking for.

Obviously there are plenty of old super cars around, but, if you look at them online they always seem to have under 50k on them, right?

I'm looking for a sports car on the lines of a Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice?

I've been looking for a convertible thats under $15,000. I've seen a lot of different car like the 350z and 05 06 mustang for sale but I'm looking for cars that no one really knows it out there. Like the Saturn Sky, I just found out about this car a couple days ago and i need some help to see did i miss any cars like the Sky. I'm really looking a 05-08 thats under 15,000 sports car.

Answer
You named them, and there is a reason that when you find them that the price is where it is at. GM tried to capture a portion of the small affordable sports cars with these cars. So I would suggest you do some research on this car. Reviews and reports on just how good of a car it is.
For a while these were the low end price wise for sports cars. They displaced the Miata as being the most affordable convertible sports car.
But it takes more then looks and price to beat the Miata. If you ever drive them both, you will find out why those of us who want a real sports car don't give either of them a second thought.

Do I still have plenty of time to get an 8-cylinder sports car and get a good deal on it?

Q. Unfortunately, it's looking like SUVs and sports cars and other vehicles with guzzle gas are going to stop being made and no one's gonna buy them anymore. I would much rather have an 8-cylinder like a Camaro Z28 or a Firebird TransAM. Everyone else might be switching to tiny, unsafe, wimpy Hybrid cars that can't take a hit in a collison and take all day to go from 0 to 60.
I wouldn't wanna be caught dead in one of those degrading, ugly vehicles that I find to be a joke. I would much have that 300+ HP from a Firebird or a Camaro. They look more cool, are much faster, and are a little safer in case of an accident.

I hope the decreased sales will mean lower prices, not the other way around.

Answer
Trust me the V8s are going to be around for a real long time. The american drivers will allways trust the power and life span of the V8 engines.Just look at the past few years as the V8s have gotten smaller and punch out more power than ever before.Long live the V8S. Hope this helps.

Is a 2000 Grand Prix gt sedan considered a sports car to insurance agencies?

I want to buy this Grand Prix gt sedan that's for sale but I can't afford a sports car car payment it's my first car will insurance consider it a "sports car"

Answer
With most insurance companies, there is actually no such thing as a 'sports car' category. In 15 years as a broker, I've never seen or heard of one company who has a sports car surcharge of any kind. That's one of those myths that everyone knows but nobody can actually say how they know it.

It's true that some cars really are pure sports cars, and they can and do cost more to insure. But think about it for a minute... when looking at sticker prices, is a Camaro or Mustang listed at the same price as a (same year) Corolla or Dakota? No, because sports cars are sexy and sexy is expensive. Sports machines have more powerful motors, upgraded interiors, harder suspensions, sleeker designs, and all that stuff.

More expensive car means more expensive insurance premiums, because a vehicle's cash value is the big factor in how vehicles are rated by the companies. They look at other stuff too, but overall value is the big one for the vehicle.

If you got a quote on a Grand Prix GT and then a Grand Prix not-GT from the same year, they'd be almost identical. And no, red paint doesn't do anything to the premiums either.
