I live in the us and am looking for for a cheap reliable sports car. Any ideas?
Answer
Might be able to find a 300 ZX in that range, but its unlikely.
Should be able to find a 3000 GT or Dodge Stealth.
Should look at American Muscle (Camaro, Firebird/Trans-Am, Mustang).
Older Supras.
Toyota MR2, great little mid-engine RWD car.

Recommend me a under $9000 sports/muscle car, used?

Answer
05 Mustang in Red (with black soft top) is a great idea. Very strong car and hot.
Acura RSX 2004 or a Type-S between 2002-2006 is a really good idea. You'll probably have to settle for something before 2005 if you want one with low clicks, but anything is possible. Rsx is a sick car pulls hard and is the ideal manly sports car, I like it in grey.
Toyota Celica is also a good option and with 9 grand you can easily get a '03-'05 in black and go ahead with tinting the windows and whatnot to make it look very nice.
Hyundai Tiburon after 2008 looks very sick and sort of looks like a smaller Hyundai Genesis, but you'd be lucky to get it for nine grand. It's still worth a try to look.
You could also go with a Honda civic coupe '05 or '06 depending on which generation fits your style better. These cars are dirt cheap compared to the rest and aren't exactly eye-popping until, ofcourse, you modify the **** out of it. These cars are some of the easiest to modify, and some tints/rims/and projector headlights will make them look AMAZING without needing to spend another 1k on a body kit (even though that's also a good idea).
You can go for a Mitsubishi Eclipse from 2006 and up, these might be a little more than what you have but a good deal could result in a '06 eclipse for 8-9 grand.
You can take a look at a Infinity G35 coupe that has been tastefully modified and pick out one of those if you want too, however it could be a little much.
The NUMBER ONE CAR TO GET FOR YOU IS: Nissan 350z. It's a 12k+ car but now that it's getting colder you can probably pick one up for under 10k. It's by far the best car to get IF you can find one at your price range. I've personally seen 2-3 being sold for under 10k and was shocked, these are amazing cars and should be your #1 choice if you find one cheap enough.
