Is this a good deal for an IS250?
Hi
It's a 2007 navy blue color with 12,500 miles and they're asking $26,000 for it excluding tax and registration and everything. I went to the dealership today to check it out, but I have never bought a Lexus before so I don't know the pricing on their cars. Help me out. Thanks!
Answer
You didn't mention options - I'll assume it's an automatic, but does it have all wheel drive, a navigation package, levinson audio, a luxury or premium package, any of these things? On a new car, these would add maybe $10K to the price (all together), and a gently used one, maybe $6K or $7K.
If it's loaded as can be - yeah, that's a great deal. If it's a stripped down manual transmission - it's overpriced.
Assuming it's automatic, not all wheel drive, doesn't have the navigation, levinson audio or other high end options and is in excellent condition, Kelly blue book for dealer sale is $26,260, so yes, it's priced right. I love low mileage cars, as they have a lot of life left for the year it is. This one's still under warranty too (way under miles, probably have a year and a half left of the original 4 years), so no worries there.
If you want to buy it (and it's a great car), offer the dealer $24,000, and look to close somewhere around $25K.
