Examples of a luxury or sports car?

Bobby Sue

In my class, we have to do a PowerPoint on a smart car that we invent (such as a car that can turn into a submarine and futuristic things like that), and try to "sell" it to our classmates. We are going to make ours either a fancy, expensive luxury car, or a powerful sports car. We also have to design and draw that car, so I was hoping that you could link me some pictures of each of the two kinds, luxury and sport cars? I just need some ideas for designing our futuristic car.

Also, if you have an idea on which type (luxury or sports) we should pick to better "sell" our car to the class, it would be greatly appreciated. (and tell why you chose it)
These are a few of the reasonable ideas we've come up with so far:
---Being able to change the color of the outside of the car with the push of a button
---Setting username profiles to automatically set the seats, mirrors, and temperature to your specific needs
---fingerprint scanner instead of keys
---Temperature detecter to automatically set heater/air conditioning based on the temperature outside
---a breathalyzer of sorts that senses if your drunk, and won't let the car turn on if you're drunk
---color-changing headlights
And then we'll include some ordinary features, like On-Star, built in GPS, MP3 player accessible, 6-CD changer, etc.

Anymore ideas you can think of, without getting too unrealistic?
Which type of car we should make it?
and include some pictures of sports cars and luxury cars, please.

Thanks so much! :D

Answer
Porsche is consistently rated the highest quality luxury sports car by J.D. Power and Associates.

Other Luxury Sports cars are:
BMW 6 series, M series, Z series
Mercedes AMG series, SL class, SLK class, CLK class, SLS class, Mclaren.
Audi S line, RS line, TT line
Infiniti G35 and G37
Lexus IS-F and LS-F and LF-A and IS300
Acura NSX
All Aston Martins and Lamrboghini's and Ferrari's that are not race editions.
All Porsche's that are not race editions. (Ex. GT2 and GT3 and Cayman R and Boxster Spyder)

And many more.

Just search these cars in Yahoo Images for an unlimited number of photos.

All of the technology ideas you mentioned are already in use in cars except for the first and third idea you mentioned.

But how about a real mini freezer. Many cars have little chill stations or ice boxes, but nothing that really cools your drink or food. Maybe with an ice dispenser and water dispenser like a small fountain to fill your cup.

What are some current popular sports cars that young guys like?

Eric

I'm thinking about getting my son a car for his 21st birthday. I know he likes sports cars but I don't know which companies/makes. I also don't want to ask him since I want it to be a surprise.

Can you please give me some suggestions?

Thanks

Answer
depends.. there are two groups of guys. Theres the "tuner" guys that like hondas and japanese cars and then theres the more muscle car types

I think you couldn't go wrong with a Nissan 350 Z either way.. IF you know for sure he's more of an american guy person then a Mustang GT or the New Dodge Challenger.

You can google all these cars to see pictures and find prices, etc.

What rental car company rents sports cars?

Joshua

I live in Clinton Township Michigan. What car rental company rents sports cars like a Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, or Nissan Z?

Answer
I can't think of a single company that does. These cars carry a too high of a risk that someone will tear them up. You could try renting directly from a dealership. Some do for an astronomical price, but many will only rent 4 cyl sedans.

A sports car accelerates from zero to 30 mph in 1.5 seconds. How long does it take for it to accelerate from z?

Yves

A sports car accelerates from zero to 30 mph in 1.5 seconds. How long does it take for it to accelerate from zero to 60 mph, assuming the power of the engine to be independent of velocity and neglecting friction?

A) 2 seconds
B) 3 seconds
C) 6 seconds
D) 12 Seconds

explain.

Answer
With constant power, the force has to be inversely proportional to velocity (F x v = P) . So this is a little counterintuitive if you try to attack from the acceleration point of view...

You should take the approach of energy. See what is the ratio of kinetic energy at speed of 30 KMPH to speed of 60 KMPH . Ki netic energy is proportional to square of speed... , so you would get a certain ratio.

Since the power is constant, the time taken will be proportional to the kinetic energy. So, if the ratio of kinetic energy at 60 KMPH is to kinetic energy at 30 KMPH is N:1, the time taken will also have a ratio of N:1.

I don't want to give you the answer, just give you the principle to use, so you can work it out easily.

Hope it helps you, and you vote for the answer.

Answer
You can get a fairly nice BMW, I know that's not necessarily a sports car, but Beamers can be extremely nice if you get the right one. I think you can get a 350 Z with that cash too.

What does the GTP stand for in Pontiac grand Prix GTP?

FinkenZ34

Just wondering what GTP stands for and also why Chevrolet uses a Z for their sport cars. For eample my car is a 1999 Monte carlo Z34, and like camara Z28, and so on and so forth.

Answer
Gran Tourismo Prototipo for the pontiac and:

Chevroletâs are concerned the "Z" stands for âZoraâ (for Zora
Arkus Duntov,a member of the Chevrolet design team). Duntov also
worked on the limited edition corvette. (The Dunto Crovette was
limited production of about 67 cars.)

Z06 = Corvette
Z22 = Cheap Cavalier (Z22 a also the nickname of a first generation Camaro RS)
Z24 = not so cheap Cavalier
Z26 = Beretta
Z28 = Camaro
Z34 = Monte Carlo and Lumina
Z51 = Corvette w/ suspension package
Z66 = Avalanche
Z71 = Silverado and Sierra
