Looking to Move; Chicago or Houston?

Dan

I am right out of medical school and I'm looking for someplace new. Which city has it all? Restauraunts, entertainment, sports, quality of life; I need some help here ;D

Answer
Chicago is the better choice for most BUT Houston has TMC with more medical research and grant money in any cohesive area but Bethesda.

Chicago costs a little more that Houston to live in. Mostly in housing.
You must have a car in Houston. The weather is to hot and humid for normal human beings.
You live in air conditioning 8 to 9 months of the year if not all year. Then there are the hurricanes.
Most of Chicago does not even get a tornado.

It can get real cold and real hot in Chicago but it only lasts a couple of days or weeks.

The quality of life in Chicago is way better than Houston.
Both have lots of excellent restaurants.
Chicago has more theater, a better symphony and slightly better Opera than Houston but in Houston you can get tickets easily, Not if Chicago since most tickets are scoffed up by subscribers.
Nearby suburbs of Chicago are real towns and cities not just more tract housing like in Houston.

who won the car race in houston le mans 06?

I have started a cupcake delivery and catering business.
I have no business :(
How can I promote to the Houston area for cheap?

Answer
You can promote it through Craigslist. You could also make posters for your business that you could put up at local stores. You could try and make a business website, and make your own commercials on YouTube and put a link to the website. Also you could advertise on your car/truck, and everyone in town would see it. If all else fails find a local athlete who has talent, offer to sponsor them for their sport, and they can help promote your products. If you try any or all of these, you should get more business then you currently have.

Have you ever used foam blocks to carry your snowboard/skis on the roof of your car?

dill

We are renting a car to get out of the city to drive to the mountain, none of the rental cars have roof racks. I know there are foam block setups for kayaks and canoes and stuff, I just wondering if anyone ever did it with a snowboard and where to buy some of that foam? Can you get it at a hardware store or something?

Answer
Sorry...I looked at your other questions to see where you live. In NYC there are a few places you could get the kayak blocks. I only know for sure of one.

Eastern Mountain Sports
591 Broadway
(between Prince & Houston)

212.966.8730

In theory it should work. Just make sure the webbing is really tight.

How can I get involved with rally car racing?

Jaime

I have always liked the whole aspect of it you can threw a lot of terrains in just one race. Im 15 turning 16 in a fuwe months and i live in Houston Texas.

Answer
Get a car and get started. One place to start is with "Rally Cross". There are more then likely several run in Texas. Your local SCCA section should have classes starting up for drivers. Also consider this sport takes two in the car, so maybe hook up with some one as a navigator.
