Is a Chrysler Seabring considered a sports car?

fgrsk8er18

Is a Chrysler Seabring considered a sports car, or not? I've already gotten the answer that not every convertible is a sports car, but can anyone tell me if a chrysler seabring is or not?

Answer
No. A true "Sports Car" is a two-seat vehicle with a removable top. A Chrysler Sebring is a small convertible, but not a sports car.

I just bought a sports car and i want a new paint job, it's a convertible!?

my car is red and i don't like red a whole lot but where would i take the car to get a new paint job, but it's a convertible so will they be able to change the color or would i have to do it my self?

Answer
Any paint shop can paint a convertible. 1500.00 bucks for a decent job for any car though....

What kind of convertible can I get that won't be a sports car on insurance?

vhlfdsgbfl

I'm looking at getting a car and I'd really like a convertible. The thing is that I can't afford the insurance on sports cars. So what kind of convertible that would be around 5000 dollars used (perferably 90's to an early 2000s car) would not be a sports car to the insurance agency. Or is there no way around that? And if it makes a difference I have State Farm.

Answer
Ask them if they will consider a Chrysler/Dodge Sebring or a Chevrolet Cavalier convertible to be a sports car or not. If they are 4 cylinder they may not. The problem is most of these had a V6. 4 cylinders are rare. You have to check with your insurance agent.

In 2003. I had a 1990 Chrysler LeBaron convertible with a 3.0L V6 when I lived in LA and my insurance was still at the same rate.

I was insured with Mercury.

Does a sport car have anything to do with sport?

When we were younger, we hear adults talk about sports cars. Old Camaros and Firebirds parked on the driveway chipping dried paint and spewing brown rust. Some were ragtop convertibles from the 1970's. Why is a sport car called a sport car when it has nothing to do with sports?

Answer
Back in the day, lots of privately owned Sports Cars were actively involved in racing. It was quite common for a racing enthusiast to buy a little MG or Triumph roadster straight off the dealer's car lot, race it on Sunday and drive it to work on Monday. Even the Trans-Am series back in the 1970's was based on modified production cars like Mustangs and Camaros that started life as factory-built street cars.

Now days with all the commercialization and advanced technology that goes into motorsports, that's no longer practical. The average NASCAR or Formula 1 racer is custom built from the ground up to do one thing, and you would never see one driving on the street.

I'm not sure we have gone in the right direction, but that seems to be where the money is these days... Oh well.

What is the hottest car these days?

I love sports cars and convertibles. I'll never own one but I love thinking about them and looking at them. What is the latest and greatest that I should be checking out? (Yeah, yeah, I know, I know - A Honda Accord is great for driving and when I open the sunroof I pretend it is my convertible!)

Answer
Chevy Corvette of course, the only true American sports car. Any year will do.

I am 16 and I am looking to find a car that is fuel efficient, looks nice (sports car sudan), and is affordable. I have looked at a Mazda rx8 but it seems with the rotory engine that would give me more problems than I would like. I have also looked at the ford mustang as well as other types of sports cars but I need better gas mileage.

P.S. Im not a big fan hatchbacks or convertibles. If i had to choose between the two I would choose the convertible though.

Answer
I don't have a lot of knowledge about other cars other than the ones I have owned.

I had a 2006 Mustang GT. It had the tested and true 4.6L V8.

I put over 120k miles on that car with no issues. Reliable and fun. It got 23-24 on the hwy, and about 17 in the city. The new 5.0 mustang 2011-2012 gets even better gas mileage and more power!

I would imagine that the new Camaro is just as solid with its dependable motor. But I am pretty sure its gas mileage is not as good.

How much is the average Maserati? What luxury sports car is suitable for a 16 year-old?

Amber

I was wondering how much an average Maserati costs. Especially the Grandturismo. I will soon get a brand-new car. My budget is $100,000. I was wondering what luxury sports car will be suitable for a 16 year-old. Please list a few brands and names of the convertibles. Thanks!

Answer
I don't know if the Audi A8 comes in convertible, that is a good choice.

Also Porsche 911 is great because you can get All Wheel Drive.
