Really cool sports cars?

Anon

What are some really cool newer sports cars? Or cars that have some umph or vroom if you know what I mean? I'm new at this lol. I'd preferably like something with 4 seats and good gas mileage ( around 25 to 35 mpg if possible).
Something with a good shape too, something that says "Coming through, get outa the way" lol.
Something like this

It doesn't have to be exact, but can anyone help me please? = )
*drool* here's the perfect design if you know of any more like it.

Answer
Both of those cars are concept cars so you won't be able to get your hands on them.

If you want a 4 seater with good mileage that still performs, take a look at the new wave of muscle cars. Try looking at the new Chevy Camaro that comes out soon, the Ford Mustang, the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger. Both Dodge models don't get very good fuel economy, but they are powerful and impressive. The Mustang is good, but I'd buy a Camaro if I were looking for a new car.

You might want to take a look at some Audis and BMWs. They won't get quite as good fuel economy, but they will still be plenty fast and possibly more comfortable (but much more expensive).

Examples of a luxury or sports car?

Bobby Sue

In my class, we have to do a PowerPoint on a smart car that we invent (such as a car that can turn into a submarine and futuristic things like that), and try to "sell" it to our classmates. We are going to make ours either a fancy, expensive luxury car, or a powerful sports car. We also have to design and draw that car, so I was hoping that you could link me some pictures of each of the two kinds, luxury and sport cars? I just need some ideas for designing our futuristic car.

Also, if you have an idea on which type (luxury or sports) we should pick to better "sell" our car to the class, it would be greatly appreciated. (and tell why you chose it)
These are a few of the reasonable ideas we've come up with so far:
---Being able to change the color of the outside of the car with the push of a button
---Setting username profiles to automatically set the seats, mirrors, and temperature to your specific needs
---fingerprint scanner instead of keys
---Temperature detecter to automatically set heater/air conditioning based on the temperature outside
---a breathalyzer of sorts that senses if your drunk, and won't let the car turn on if you're drunk
---color-changing headlights
And then we'll include some ordinary features, like On-Star, built in GPS, MP3 player accessible, 6-CD changer, etc.

Anymore ideas you can think of, without getting too unrealistic?
Which type of car we should make it?
and include some pictures of sports cars and luxury cars, please.

Thanks so much! :D

Answer
Porsche is consistently rated the highest quality luxury sports car by J.D. Power and Associates.

Other Luxury Sports cars are:
BMW 6 series, M series, Z series
Mercedes AMG series, SL class, SLK class, CLK class, SLS class, Mclaren.
Audi S line, RS line, TT line
Infiniti G35 and G37
Lexus IS-F and LS-F and LF-A and IS300
Acura NSX
All Aston Martins and Lamrboghini's and Ferrari's that are not race editions.
All Porsche's that are not race editions. (Ex. GT2 and GT3 and Cayman R and Boxster Spyder)

And many more.

Just search these cars in Yahoo Images for an unlimited number of photos.

All of the technology ideas you mentioned are already in use in cars except for the first and third idea you mentioned.

But how about a real mini freezer. Many cars have little chill stations or ice boxes, but nothing that really cools your drink or food. Maybe with an ice dispenser and water dispenser like a small fountain to fill your cup.

car insurance for car hire?

MJ

I'm going to Virginia for a week and will be renting a car from rentawreck.com. Would they provide insurance or would I be covered by a joint policy will my mum? BTW I'll be 18 + british. Don't say I can't rent because I can.

Answer
Well, let me welcome you, and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Yes, all car rental agencies provide basic insurance on the vehicle, most of them are big enough to be self insured. However, that won't cover damage that is your fault. But they do offer, for extra money of course, a waiver that will cover any damage to the car.

You said don't say you can't rent at 18, but the chances are that you can not rent.

Generally:

With few exceptions, Alamo, Avis, Hertz and National require all drivers to be 25 or older. Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty rent to drivers over 21, but penalize underage drivers with a daily surcharge. Some even restrict the type of vehicle, making a luxury model or sport utility vehicle off-limits.

If you're under 21, your chances of renting from the big companies are just about nil unless you're a military or government employee or happen to be renting a car in New York, the only state that currently requires car-rental companies to rent to drivers 18 and older. A similar law has been proposed in Connecticut, where state legislator Michael Cardin has gone to bat for young people. "You get people who are essentially adults but who can't rent a car," says Cardin. "How are they going to get around or be perceived as equals in business?"

HIGH RISKS. Because of the high accident rate associated with drivers under 25 (and the severity of those incidents), "car-rental companies don't think it's worth the risk to rent to this age group," says William Maloney, chief operating officer for the American Society of Travel Agents. Maloney himself couldn't persuade Hertz to rent a car to his 21-year-old son last December--and Maloney was a Hertz executive at the time.

But, to get into your company, rent a wreck specifically, their web page states:

Driver's Age
Usually, Rent-A-Wreck requires renters to be at least 18 years old, but some locations may require a minimum age of 25 years. For consumers under 25, a credit card is usually required for payment and the rental rate may be higher. Please contact the individual Rent-A-Wreck car rental location for their specific age policies.

Make sure your location will allow an 18 year old to rent, and be prepared to pay a premium rate if they do. You will need a credit card or a pocket full of cash.

Requirements
Like all car rental companies, Rent-A-Wreck requires a valid state-issued drivers license. International drivers with international licenses are welcome at Rent-A-Wreck; please contact the location from which you'd like to rent your vehicle to make all arrangements in advance. A refundable deposit will be required in most cases when you pick up your Rent-A-Wreck rental car. The deposit charge varies by the length of the rental and the size of the car. It is most often charged to your credit card. Rent-A-Wreck does not process the amount unless you do not return the car as specified in your rental contract. Until you return the car, however, your spending limit on your credit card may be reduced by the amount of the deposit. This may be important if you plan to charge other items to your credit card and are near your credit limit. If you do not have a major credit card, or you do not want to charge the deposit, Rent-A-Wreck may ask for the deposit in cash.
